- 1992 Australian Off-Road Radio Control Car National Titles held in Perth (Bayswater). Retro R/C racing featuring some of the biggest names in Australian R/C history such as David Crowe, Reece Birtles, Darrin Campbell, Gavin Reynolds, Chris Bozich, Brendan Coleman, Luis Sola, Craig Mazik, Trent McLure. Chris Marshall, Michael Chard etc. The video includes all finals for all classes (2wd and 4wd) as well as the full trophy presentation. The video was recorded by my late Uncle Phil. My father and he recorded many of our races when I was younger. The event was held at the West Coast Model RC Club in Bayswater, Perth, Western Australia. This was my first national titles and I qualified in the 2wd stock A final with my Schumacher Cougar 2 Team. I started RC in the late 80's gave it up in the late 90's and got in to Rx7' and rotaries.
Now I try do do both and my oldest son choose the rotaries over rc-cars ;)

I helped build that track as a teenager! I recognise many of the local club racers in that, Gavin, Chris, Nathan, Steve to name a few. I think you had just started racing Ray just as I was giving it up, but I was never at that level of skill despite the JRx2 I had! Great memories, thanks for posting 👍
Hi Michael yeah I recall racing against you a few times but I didn't start racing until 1991. Glad you liked it, I'm glad my Dad videoed the trophy ceremony as you get to see everyone. Brings back great memories :)

Aurelio was racing yes, he ran stock and did really well. I started in stock, moved to mod in 1994 and haven't raced stock since.
Holy shit I WAS there! 6th place 2wd C Stock!! I thought I saw me in the crowd! Mate, you've made my night watching this, absolute gold! And funnily enough I'm getting back into this year! Tim and Alan were absolute legends at the club back in the day, it wouldn't have been the same without them.

Yes back then all brushed motors and nicd batteries. From memory the biggest battery capacity was around 1700 mAh at the time.
