BILT continues to use the Chase Sapphire Preferred as a punching bag. How many times can one card be knocked out. BILT has just added Hilton as a transfer partner. I fail to understand why this $0 AF card continues to innovate while Chase remains stagnant.

00:00 Hilton is BILT's newest transfer partner!
00:57 Who should use BILT to transfer to Hilton?
01:46 What does this mean for the Chase Sapphire Preferred?
02:27 Summary
Keep your eyes peeled to this channel. I expect that BILT will offer something special regarding a rent day transfer boost to Hilton. When they do, I'll be sure to bring it to you!
I would have preferred Bilt to keep AA as a partner... But I can't fault Bilt for continuing to add.
Agreed… also I will take Amex transfer rate for 1 point to two Hilton points… not a 1:1 ratio
Yes, that's the only partner which is worth having Bilt card for. Alaska also, but it's not as good as AA.
@@yurig2530Also, check out Virgin for flights to Europe.... Pretty competitive.
@@gregb5876 Virgin is a partner with Citi, Chase, Amex and Capital One. I do use them from time to time. For example, I recently booked a flight on ANA business class using their miles.
I'll finally be flying ANA next year and plan on using Virgin as well. Award seats on ANA seem to go quickly!
Thanks for the info + video!
I like what Bilt is doing but unless I need to top off points with Hilton that transfer would never happen since Hyatt is also an option. Also, there is the fact that you can periodically buy Hilton points at .5cpp.
Yeah, it would take a really good transfer bonus for me to consider it. Plus, it's easy to get Hilton points through their co-branded cards or even Amex's 1:2 transfer rate if you're desperate.
Trust me, Bilt is aware of this so I expect to see some awesome rent day bonus boost in the near future.
@@RSquared-travel-rewards - Me too! That said, Richard Kerr noted that if everyone redeemed at Hyatt and United they'd go broke. He said that they need people using all the different redemption possibilities and want to provide options regardless of preferences (travel partner transfers, travel portal, Amazon, etc.). Apparently people used the travel portal a lot more than transfer partners.
Congrats on 2K subs, Richard!! 💪🏾
Congratulations to you on that major coup in interviewing Richard from BILT. I started to watch it a couple times and was interrupted due to work but I plan on listening to every word tomorrow.
Very good information, I'm getting myself a BILT card, after watching this video.
You're not going to regret it. This card packs a punch once used correctly. Be sure to watch my BILT videos on various strategies.
BILT is getting better but I would prefer if they would have kept American Airlines.
I get that it appears that AA is a loss but it really isn't. It's straightforward to book AA via Alaska or British Airways.
I realized the other day that oddly enough virgin Atlantic transfers to Hilton at a 1.5 ratio. So if you transfered your bilt points to virgin and then to Hilton you would get 1 to 1.5. I made a video about it.
Interesting. I however would never sacrifice my BILT points for a 50% boost to Hilton. Amex is my go-to transfer partner to Hilton at 2:1.
BILT is reserved for another crazy 125% transfer to an airline transfer partner
@@RSquared-travel-rewards agreed. But like you said if you need just a couple more points for a Hilton redemption then this is an option. But your right I also am gold and can't wait for the next transfer bonus!
Like many others, Bilt closed my account when I tried a single 2,000 pount transfer to my American Airlines account. I chatted and emailed to appeal but my account is permanently closed.
Really, I wonder why? Not breaking any rules that I’m aware of.
You have to be leaving out lots of the story 😊
Yeah I transfered to AA and it takes like 48 hrs to show on your account but no issues here. Maybe it was somewhere else
I am not at all surprised that the biggest consumer bank in the country is more likely to stand pat with their products than a newer credit card company that has to be issued by a partner bank and has limited it's target audience to renters
I think you're misunderstanding Bilt's ambitions. Last week Richard Kerr explained in an interview with TH-camr CallMeLani that they consider themselves to be a rewards program with co-branded card, just like airlines and hotels have co-branded cards. It's already possible to get points without renting or holding the card. He was firm in indicating that earning through mortgage payments is a near-term expansion.
I read all about the IBM debacle. I've seen BlackBerry's demise, Microsoft and cell phones. The list goes on. Not saying that Chase is in any danger but I'd argue that because they are the largest bank so they could afford to do something that the smaller guys can't. Look at apple, their products are sought after because of design. But I agree with you that Chase is going to stay pat; just disappointing.
@@RSquared-travel-rewards Apple has managed to become a status brand, people pay more for the same or less functionality
@@RSquared-travel-rewardsChase has Ink Cash, Ink Preferred and Freedom Flex, which are much better than Bilt.
@@RSquared-travel-rewardsthe problem with this logic is that you named all technology companies. Polaroid and Kodak Eastman were kings once too. In the finance sector only Amex is better at monetizing its consumers than Chase. No one else comes close. JPM doesn’t have an incentive today to improve. CSP is not as good as Bilt, the problem is we don’t just hold one card. The Chase suite of cards and business cards generally complement each other whereas Bilt today is only one card…It’s a great card but it stands alone and is affiliated with one of the weakest, most inefficient major banks in the US.
Bilt is just building a bigger and bigger case on why it can be for everyone. With their constant updates it’s only gonna get better 👍🏼
I think they have proven their case that it's for everyone. An amazing card! I still can't believe it's a free card.
I can’t wait until I get this card!! Doing my credit repair and data mining right now!
I love hearing that you're working on credit repair. Work on being flawless with your card management. Then and only then will you come out ahead in this game.
Bilt + CSP/CSR complement each other in my set up thanks to being a no annual fee
That makes sense. I just have no use for the Chase CSP, I'm all in with the Citi CSP.
BILT and the Citi CSP is better for travel now that this CSP has travel protections.
@@RSquared-travel-rewards 100% Richard 100%. The value proposition for the new Strata Premier is there. I just started my journey with Citi
I agree that Chase has to do something to revamp its Sapphire lineup, but with Hilton points being valued only at 0.6c per point I wouldn’t transfer BILT points to Hilton at a 1:1 rate. Like your said BILT has many other transfer partners that have more value.
Also many of us in the game do have at least one MR earning AMEX card to use towards their more generous 2:1 offer.
For sure but think of the many more millions of consumers who aren't part of the game and don't have Amex cards because of the high AFs. They have no concept of cpp but want to stay at a Hilton resort in Mexico for example. Trust me that Bilt has run the numbers.
Not very exciting since it's 1:1 but definitely impressive for a no annual fee card.
Keep in mind the regular 2X boost on the Hilton side.
I only have the CSP to transfer my Chase Freedom Unlimited points haha. The Bilt card is much better than the CSP
They did add Hilton, but dropped American Airlines...boooooo. Hoping Citi picks them up as AA now has no direct partners I think.
After they dropped AA they added Alaska Airlines. But Citi picking up AA would make sense and instantly elevate citi
@@RSquared-travel-rewards Wait, BILT already had Alaska before dropping AA...?
Good for topping of points don’t see why transfering at 1:1 is any good vs just buying them
I firmly expect to see rent day transfer boost to Hilton.
Amex is actually 3:1 ratio considering how often they run the transfer offer
Correct but I expect a rent day transfer boost coming soon to Hilton. What do you think?
Bilt sounds like an amazing card, but as a college student I dont have much of an income throughout the semester and I don't pay rent so Idk how much value I'll get from it
wonder of housing code as rent, you could call Bilt and ask them. Besides rent, Bilt is awesome at rewarding you on rent day, dining, insurance, etc
@@MarcoRolong oh it's that my parents and grandparents pay for it, and they prefer to do it in cash. I'm not sure if that play qualifies as a dorm or an apartment tbh
@@MarcoRolong it has good benefits too, which is why I have considered it before but I can't help but feel like I might get a bit more value from other cards. And given how little I spend, Idek if I could reach enough points to transfer out
In dining, I spend around $100 a month and every now and then if I go out with my parents I'll pay and they'll just send it back through Venmo
Biltisgoingtobe the Card in 2025💳💪🏾
At 1:1 ratio it's not worth it.
Bilt is going on full force
I agree
If the citi strata elite comes out with no effective annual fee then chase is DONE!
Well I wouldn't go that far but the Reserve would be even less interesting. I'd be first in line to pick up the Strata Elite.
@@RSquared-travel-rewards cannot wait for news on strata elite
Meh-Bilt is getting on my radar, but as somebody who's closer to owning a rental property than paying rent, Bilt is meh. More partner options is always good, but Amex offering 1 to 2.6 points specials is the way to go. Chase needs a lot of work. Killing restaurants killed CSR for me-it's dead as soon as I can get a CIP for 3x travel. I spend $1k a month on something Chase classifies as travel nobody else would call travel. In my dream world, the card companies would offer a high AF card that doesn't have coupons but has transaction minimums like Bilt to unlock perks and all multipliers of the entire freedom line and sapphire line - if you carry and use the card - you're gonna get rewarded. Sock drawer it and get minimal rewards.
When you have your rental property, let's say a multifamily, you'll naturally create an LLC which owns the property. Then have each tenant venmo you the rent. Then you make a single rent payment with the BILT card to the rental property owner - the LLC. Chad - Stop sleeping on the BILT card.
@@RSquared-travel-rewards As a landlord, I would say no, since LLC will need to pay taxes to the state, and payroll taxes when you pay yourself a salary. Otherwise it's a royalties, and you don't need to pay any payroll or state tax.
Same for me, as a landlord I don't see any reason of getting a Bilt card, my Citi setup gives me better multiplier for dining, the rest of multipliers are not interesting at all. And with loss of AA, this card lost it's appearance to me. I do give referrals to my tenants though, but you don't need to have Bilt card for that.
