Figures that a guy named Chase has one of the most clear and value filled vid about the Chase Sapphire Preferred! 🤔 Great video Chase! Learned some new stuff
This is an excellent no nonsense look at how to come out ahead in the increasingly complex and frustrating world of travel rewards. Thank you for going to the heart of the issue with reasonable conclusions about what decisions we need to make to maximize benefits. Great job and you now have a new fan.
Thanks for the video awesome video. I’ve just started on my CC journey to be able to book my very first trip to Japan even if I just go on economy. I’m so excited to finally make it happen!
I agree about the CDW. I just wish it was as easy to use as AMEX's. It seems Chase contracts out to a 3rd party for the coverage. It was a ton of paperwork for me to get reimbursed for a broken windshield, but glad I had the coverage.
Love that $50 Hotel Credit. While there are downsides to booking through a Travel Portal, paying $50 in cash and then the rest in points can make sense for some one off hotel stays. Love the DoorDash partner benefits with the CSP! Great video Chase!
4:43 Well I love to travel so I don’t really have a favorite place but I have a rental property and a girlfriend of two years in Brazil so I’m constantly traveling there and used that credit last year on a hotel stay and I’ll try to use it again this year. I’m more of an Airbnb kinda guy but I still find this a easy credit to use.
Fyi, that United flight example isn't correct. You're looking at a round trip cash price. It's only $106 OW, which is around 1.8 cpp. Not terrible, but saver awards are extremely limited and are usually bad routing and time. That 8p flight costs you the entire Saturday in LV. I feel like its more worth to pay more points, ignore CPP, and take a more optimal flight allowing you more time on vacation.
Facts. I went deep into trying to book award flights but it is simply not worth the headache. People focus way too much on cpp. Now i’m thinking of simplifying my setup by combining a Chase card with my Bilt card United and Hyatt, and AA
Fair point. Don't get me wrong, at the end of the day it only really matters how you value points. Although CPP is an objective way to value something subjective. It also helps provide a good guideline to aim for. I 1000% agree that we should use points to the best of our convenience.
How do you get those hotel perks you mention in method #2? Is it automatic? Because I just booked 4 nights in NYC directly thru the hotel because I have status and put it on my card
I used to think $99 annual fee was too expensive but after getting the Amex platinum, everything below that seems cheap. I’m waiting for higher signup bonus to open this card.
Amex Platinum seems like an expensive coupon book. Getting rid of my Delta Reserve and will get the Chase preferred. I'll spend the extra cash at great airport restaurants instead rather then crowded lounges these days
You would just need to book 4 nights in a row via this website: book.ennismore.com/chase-sapphire. Keep in mind that " Any additional hotel charges, such as resort fees, and any charges for incidentals that you incur are not included in your reservation rate or 4th Night Free award and must be paid directly to the hotel"
How long does it usually take to transfer points? So when you find a deal with a travel partner and transfer points to book directly, how long does that take?
I always store my sapphire preferred in my booty and I twerq on the NFC reader. The twerqing points really add up, and now I have a fabulous stay at a 5 star resort of 72 hours.
Is there something you’re supposed to do for to get the 10% anniversary points? My one-year mark recently passed, and it says that I have 764 points earned in the last anniversary period, but my year-to-date earnings chart shows that none of my 2024 points are from the anniversary points boost
This video is really good. I learned a few things. But I can't stand all the commercials that are interrupting every three minutes or so. I had to stop watching the video after minute 12 because it started to show already like the fourth commercial.I don't know if the amount of commercials in a video can be controlled by the creator of the video or not but if you can, do something. It's unbearable.
I despise their portal. Nearly feet other booking agency is cheaper than the chase portal including the $50 credit. So with the $50 credit I’d still be spending more money. It pisses me off.
ya its a hit or miss. The $50 credit is definitely an incentive to give Chase business through their portal. If you constantly redeems your points every year then you can justify the annual fee without dealing with the Chase portal.
appreciate the insight. I just wanted to show a quick and easy comparison since this would be a case by case scenario anyway. as i mentioned, the results would vary greatly depending on your personal booking
Do an example of the same hotel through Expedia?? What kind of comparison are you giving us?? Its a NO BRAINER. ANYONE waisting their points on just a one nighter is stupid. A bed is a bed is a bed. When you wake up ALL GONE. 😂 ID RATHER TAKE THE MONEY IN A CASH REWARD AND GET A FREE HOTEL 3 NIGHTS AT A $125 a night hotel. Save my other points on a rental car and air ticket. Do a comparison video on that
I’m here FIRST to learn about Chase from Chase 🤪
Should i strictly talk about Chase from now on? 😳
Figures that a guy named Chase has one of the most clear and value filled vid about the Chase Sapphire Preferred! 🤔 Great video Chase! Learned some new stuff
You're too kind! 🙏🏽 I appreciate the support. Just tryna sprinkle some value every now and then

Thank you so much! I'm glad that you found this video helpful 🙏🏽
This is the first time I have ever heard of the Enismore discount. Thanks Chase!
🙏🏽
Deciding between the CSP and the CIP. Great to know these tips with the CSP, gives me some more to think about!
That CIP SUB is enticing 👀
Thanks for the video awesome video. I’ve just started on my CC journey to be able to book my very first trip to Japan even if I just go on economy. I’m so excited to finally make it happen!
Yooooo congratulations on getting started! 🔥 I know credit cards will help you out big time. Gotta get you on your way to Japan ASAP
My biggest benefit of the CSP in the primary CDW. One car rental and it pays for itself.
Oh ya that CDW on a card like this is so valuable 💰
What is a CDW?
@@bradleymcdonald4829 Collision Damage Waiver. its an optional coverage that can be purchased from a car rental agency
I agree about the CDW. I just wish it was as easy to use as AMEX's. It seems Chase contracts out to a 3rd party for the coverage. It was a ton of paperwork for me to get reimbursed for a broken windshield, but glad I had the coverage.

Thanks Matt, thats a good tip! Hopefully Chase renews their partner benefits

gah damn in Brazil! that sounds amazing. would love to travel over there someday.
Man you are clear and precise. Thanks
👍🏽
deciding on this one or the captiol one venture for my first travel credit card.
Another great video. I never thought about the “buff”. Just reminds me of why I love my CSP! ❤
Thank you! The CSP definitely can get the job done for a lot of people

Thank you. Especially the ending really helped
thank you for watching 🤙🏽
I didn't know about the hotel benefit in your Method #2, pretty awesome on a $95 fee travel card. Thanks for sharing Chase!
100% agree. it's a powerful perk to have on a beginner travel card like this.
One of my biggest gripes with CSP is I can't transfer points directly to United, Delta, or AA.
The Lyft and DoorDash benefits are amazing (for me)
👏🏽 thats good to hear. Helps to chip away that annual fee
How do you get those hotel perks you mention in method #2? Is it automatic? Because I just booked 4 nights in NYC directly thru the hotel because I have status and put it on my card
you would have to book it through this website and follow the instructions on that landing page book.ennismore.com/chase-sapphire
Well done! Nicely done Chase!
Thank you my guy 🔥
I used to think $99 annual fee was too expensive but after getting the Amex platinum, everything below that seems cheap. I’m waiting for higher signup bonus to open this card.
lmao ya that amex platinum will make a lot of cards feel "cheap"
@@ChaseYokoyama I guess it is just me 😂. It seems so easy to spend $$$ these days so for an annual fee, it doesn’t sound bad
I’m also waiting for a higher offer. In the last couple of years these increased offers came out in March/April, so hoping it comes out soon
Amex Platinum seems like an expensive coupon book. Getting rid of my Delta Reserve and will get the Chase preferred. I'll spend the extra cash at great airport restaurants instead rather then crowded lounges these days
How do the book 4 nights and get one night free work? Is resorts stay included in that ?

@@jameltanderson this is for cash bookings only.
How long does it usually take to transfer points? So when you find a deal with a travel partner and transfer points to book directly, how long does that take?
Most of the time 5 - 15 minutes
Lighting looks great!
you should see it in person!
Thanks so much for the information.
I have a question, in the minute 9 you mentioned benefits on a hotel property. What is the name of that hotel?
It is Ennismore hotels that can be found via book.ennismore.com/chase-sapphire
I always store my sapphire preferred in my booty and I twerq on the NFC reader. The twerqing points really add up, and now I have a fabulous stay at a 5 star resort of 72 hours.
it sounds like a great workout too!

no it should hit your account automatically. apparently it hits 60-90 days after your anniversary period

I just got the card $9,500 limit tho 😢 What should I do to raise it
keep using the card. Put a lot of use on it. Pay it off in full every month. Then ask for an increase after 3-6 months of doing that.
great job

What is your favorite app to book hotels when you travel in Asia?
I've been doing a lot of cash bookings there recently so either through Marriott / Hilton, or Expedia
Is it 3.1x not 3.3x ? It is 10% bonus on points.
yes it is 3.1x not 3.3x.
I might have failed math, but 10% of 3000 is 300 so you would end up with 3300 points.
Shhh let him live his life
😂😂😂 sorry i think you're wrong. I only watched through this video 3 times before posting it and found 0 math mistakes.
Chase 💪🏼💥
wassup Mike! 💪🏽 🔥
Chase. You're not even signed in to the individual hotel loyalty programs when you show the price examples! Not even a realistic comparison.
