That was an interesting watch, thanks for posting. Not sure what I think of extending these, for me personally I think I would feel too stretched out. But they are a popular mod to be sure. Out of interest, would you know if you can adjust the height of the rear brake lever on the other side?
just got these fitted from my dealership with the brace attachment and what a difference to the ride. Slight, is it an easy adjustment at home just to raise/lower the height of the brake pedal, I think despite them doing a second adjustment for me it’s a bit too high so just wondered if it’s an easy fix for me at home instead of having to go back and them pulling the whole control system off to do so?
I am picking up a new rebel 500 in 2 to 3 weeks time , I have just bid and got a new set from eBay with a back rack and 12 v charger for £260.00 , so going to try the shifter side first , as my left knee has limited movement, then try out the bike ,then see if I want to fit the brake side or not , if it feels comfortable with just the shifter side on and I can sit on the seat comfortably, that’s how I will be riding, it’s probably going to look odd but then I am odd lol .
If you’re doing the one side, I’d strongly recommend you complete the job with the other. Did you get an eBay kit or the red dragons? Would love to hear your input on this.
I have just received the package and they are the red Dragon forward controls, so just waiting for the bike to fit them , I will be studying your clip again to make sure I fit them correctly.
Hi I have got the rebel cmx 500 , it was a bit of a job riding it home with my stiff left knee, but once I got home I fitted the red dragon forward controls , and that’s changed my feet position more to the front enough for me to be comfortable riding the bike, thanks again for your help on this product, well worth the effort.
Does your gear shifter wobble a little bit as well after installing? Mine is wobbling a bit due to their washers and i don't know if that's normal or not for this kit
Slight, have you had any problems downshifting after installing the forward controls? I installed mine about 8 months ago and recently I'm having problems downshifting.
Slight how long did it take to install this kit? I had my Red Dragon forward control kit installed at a Honda Dealer - it took 5 hours- It was Friday Afternoon - the bike is very uncomfortable to ride without these forward control kit.
Hard to tell as videoing takes a lot of time… yet I’m sure you can get this done in 30-45mins… fine tuning the pedal positioning takes a little more time. Yet out of the box they’re matched almost perfectly.
This kit was the base. The pro is a better kit imo (stronger front as it’s braced so they is no movement) the advanced moves it up a bit (4cm instead of 2cm)
Is the stability okay with the base version? Debating between the base vs the pro due to the extra support bar with the pro version, but not sure if it's worth it or even necessary.
Perfect timing as my kit is on the way! Thanks for the videos :D
Hi, I'm thinking of buying these. Do you like them? I can't find any reviews.
Got the pro kit for my 21 1100 cmx love it
Glad to see this, wanted to see what these would look like!
Great kit, very sturdy. If you like forwards… these are one of the better ones by far.
the kit i needed. was just thinking the controls needed to
be more forward!
They make a great kit.
Great video.
Thank you

Yes you can. It’s done on the brake master - brace (where the cotter pin is). You can thread out the shaft a few threads to move that pedal up.
@@SLIGHT_ Outstanding, thanks!

The brake pedal is a little complicated to do on the bike as it is hard to see. That said, If you have the tools you can adjust it at home.
very different kit from what I received for my 2023 Rebel 300!
Did you get the pro kit?
nope, got the recommended base kit since I have the T-rex guard@@SLIGHT_

Depends on how loose?
Even he stock one has play. This kit doesn’t really add to much to that

As these are only extensions to your existing controls, I’d look to make sure everything is tight and properly adjusted.
Let me know what you find,
@@SLIGHT_ I re-tight the upper part of the arm, and it looks like it solved the problem
@@alexsoto5406 thanks for the update.
how far forwards do the advanced kit go on a honda rebel cmx500 ? thanks
On their site… www.phucnikon.com/rebel/500.php
They show:
Pro = 13.7cm
Advanced = 20cm

I installed mine in about 1.5 hours. It took 30 minutes to learn what I needed to do and the remaining hour to get it done.
When buying the kit you have 3 options base pro and advance? Which one you install?? Great video very helpfull

Pro is better. Yet I was shocked how stable the basic kit was. Imo if your not running crash bars do the pro kit.
@@SLIGHT_ thank you for the reply!
Just curious I run into some resistance on the fork at the end of the pump. How did u get that off ?
If it’s too tight, try loosening with it attached still. That way it has some leverage to break it free.
I put after market frame sliders on, so do I need to remove them ?
Depends on kit and length/location of sliders
