I just added mine today... Went for a short ride and noticed when I hit bumps I feel my left peg jolt. (I have the DCT version, so no shifter components to worry about.) Anyone else have this issue? I'm hoping it's just a foot peg bolt issue that might need tightening and not the whole left assembly.
@@SLIGHT_ after riding a bit more and watching what happens when I feel the bump, I believe it is because the left front support bolt is connected directly to the frame so close to the front forks. So when I hit a bump I feel it directly. I'll keep trying to diagnose what's happening tho. (don't worry, I was in an empty lot going slow speed during my self evaluation)
Just finished and I have to say thank you so much for taking the time to do this. Absolutely worth the investment. I feel like my bike is that much closer toward feeling like a bonafide cruiser with these forward controls. You totally rock!
I installed this set on my Rebel T a few months ago, and I have to say, it's much more comfortable than the stock footpegs. Assembly is quite easy, and otherwise as mentioned in the video, you don't need to support the engine block, because it is certainly not the only bolt on which it hangs from the engine block, and if it was 'De Pretto Moto' would definitely have mentioned it in the assembly instructions. Thanks for the video! This set is definitely worth the money🤗
I just want to say thank you for this video. I used this video alone to install the FCs on my bike. The hardest part I had was getting that first support bolt out. I ended up putting a wrench on the inner nut and kicking down with my foot. Once it loosened it came out with ease. Not sure if I want to struggle with the clutch grommet. Might just go buy another one rather than wrestle with it. Great video!!!!
Thank you very much for this tutorial ! :) I've purchased the DPM kit for my manual 1100T last week and I've installed it simply by following your video. DPM should use it to make it their official tutorial ! While mounting my kit, one bolt (a black one, holding the rear part of the bracket) snapped when I was torquing it down. The bolt was loose and it snapped in two quitte easily. I'm not sure if I had a defective bolt or if it's my torquing wrench that is defective (even though the wrench worked properly on any other bolts). Fortunately, I went to my near HD shop in which they've managed to find a bolt having the same size (they saved my day). Besides that, the kit is indeed pretty neat. I'll try to put the brake pedal a bit higher to have more room for my foot. I've kept the OEM pegs as I can't find anything here in my country to replace them - at least not something decent. Hope it will work. Anyway, thanks again sir for this step by step tutorial !
I put in the Xitomer kit. I do recommend having them stripped and powder coated first though. The DCT kit is over $400 less than the DPM kit on Amazon. Since I now live in the Philippines and the Xitomer kit was under the duty limit I saved over $500 vs ordering from DPM. Amazon doesn't ship the DPM to the Philippines.
Awesome video. Got my dad the Red Dragon Pro for Christmas after seeing your video on the Rebel 500. About half the price. Hope I didn’t make a mistake!
Still trying to decide to do this or the trex racing ones. With this I think it will be to far for me. But will see I don’t know when I’m doing it. Also great video slight keep up the great work.
I think that the T-Rex kit doesn’t stick out so far away from the bike, consider the foot position of the stock peg and how close your legs are to the tank, the T-Rex kit is very similar and the kit for the Depretto has the leg sticking out wider, like highway pegs where your legs are sticking out a bit, for me that’s not comfortable. I just want to move my legs forward, so I’m not sure Depretto or Burley are the choice, T-Rex still might be the choice, thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.👌😉
A couple days ago, I hit a deer with my CMX1100DCT. Luckily I didn't go down and the bike is fine. However the impact caused the right side of my T-Rex crash bars to get bent back about a foot., almost to the stock peg. If I had forward controls on my bike I am sure I would have gotten hurt, a broken leg or worse. I will be replacing the T-Rex crash bars with the same ones.
Hey brother I'm glad you're ok, I just got me a 2023 DTC, and it has this same forward controls, I have the Trex guards on the way, does this mean that I can't install the guards with these on?
@@JonathanBailon I don't know but your feet might be in front of the guards. If the guards got bent back as in my case, it might trap your foot. I haven't seen a bike with both devices on it.
Ive watched this maybe 4 times now, im wondering if you would know at all. Would the Forward controls be in the way of some crash bars, or vise versa? If you know at all, just a shot in the dark for me. lol
@@JonathanBailon unfortunately I have yet to find one. Even the burly brand wouldn’t work. I’ll keep looking as this is a common question I’ve been getting.
Agreed. Yet when your feet are far forward, it makes an uncomfortable feeling as you reach/extend your foot to be able to apply the brake. Great suggestion though and may work for many people. In our case the floor boards were the solution for him.
There are others (red dragons for example) the De Pretto kit is extremely nice and has Robs (owner of this 1100) trust as he had them on his 500. Check out the Red Dragons as they’re also a great product.
Ali Express does exactly the same kit, possibly a knock-off of the DPM kit but it is exactly same, unfortunately only for the DCT model. DPM kit would cost me $1200 Aliexpress kit $300 so yeah big saving.

millimeters are way so easy to measure, or international system :P
