- I am owner of an electric vehicle lol but I really am and I like my car a lot ! It is Tesla though lol ! I don’t work for the dealership at all don’t work for Toyota and I really don’t know too much about this vehicle except for the price and hopefully I got that right? And as I mentioned I don’t work for the dealership so make sure you reach out to Ricky or reach out to Marco or anybody at Gladstone ! They killed production on the only affordable model that people wanted (Bolt) last year. The Blazer EV was supposed to ship Q1 but being it was such a POS and DOA it was pulled last DEC (stop sale) Its just now coming back to the lots. But I'd stay far away from that or that crappy Equinox EV. The reason they didn't sell any is because they had nothing to sell. GM has Royally flubbed up their EV business.

In fairness GM was already a shitshow without the EV brand. Thier equinox ICE was awful. And their other gas cars are ridiculously expensive and not at all reliable.

Kenny, you deserve a 'pass' as near the end of the video you were calling it correctly the bZ4x. You definitely made me smile when you said 'if I wanted to look like a cow'. I gave you a thumbs up and changed to 'all ' on the subscription. You do a great job and quite a service for your listeners/viewers. Kudos for getting out there often and making these videos. I suppose if you had a bZ4x it would save you some money on gasoline but then there is the tradeoff of purchasing electricity. That 15% China content is as you said 'likely the battery'. You should see how much it would ultimately cost to change one of those main batteries and what landfill is going to take it!! Let us know.

You should make a with a sales person and run the numbers on the lease. Maybe it will attract buyers when they see the numbers as well as the buyout amount at the end of the lease.

That's not totally true. I tried getting this price reduction in a lease. They screw you on the residual at end of lease making a payment of 431.00 per month on a bzx4 !! Lmao no such animal as the cheap advertised lease here. So we bought a real EV that we can drive!!! A EV6!!! Toyota needs to go back to the drawing board on this one

I enjoy the channel. No disrespect is intended but it is not a BZR or BRZX . It is a bZ4x which stands for 'beyond Zero 4 x" 4 denotes Rav 4 category/size and x denotes crossover/suv. My neighbor just bought or leased one in white. With the black panels near the wheel wells, it makes it look like it has already been in an accident...Toyota should see that as well and give the customer a choice to have all panels match the main body color.

Man, I'd buy one of these. To fix range anxiety, I'd create a custom metal box enclosure in the back to house a Honda gas generator connected to a 240V DC-AC Inverter as my "ANYTIME/ANYWHERE Charger". In the back, I meant having a hitched, external enclosure. I've seen somebody doing a Tesla like this. RANGE anxiety solved.

Range anxiety really goes away quickly. Spend 400 to install a 32 watt charger at your house and every morning the car will warm itself, defrost the windows, and otherwise be ready to go when you step in. The convenience of owning one is far above an ICE vehicle.

I think one factor is compared to other EV's and this car's msrp, it charges slow and its tech is subpar to other EV's.
I've pulled up to chargers where a BZ is charging. I charge my EV from 23%-80% in 30 minutes.
I look over at the BZ and he was at 68%.
This happened a few times too, so it wasn't a one off thing or if the person didn't precondition their batteries.
Just saying.
Toyota is behind in tech with ICE too. You only notice it when you sit in other manufacturer's cars to see.

In china, BZ4 pure vision only sales in RMB145000 but still no one willing to buy!!! They call BZ4 is an industrial junk ! Honestly this BZ4 makes people disappointed and for sure technology of Toyota ‘s EV is behind the China significantly.

Im trying to understand the irrational hatred of elecric cars. Some look funny, but thats more styling than the actual tech. Electric is way way cheaper per mile and the price doesnt fluctuate on the electricity. Range anxiety is something to debate. But most people can drive and commute pretty much all week on one charge. And the government will give you 7500 to buy one.
Go for xle fwd model. They can go very low per month.

BTW, I'm old school and my newest vehicle is a 2015 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4. My oldest vehicle is a 1999 Toyota Sienna and 2000 Toyota Celica GT. I prefer Toyota reliability and quality.

Did you drive a Nissan leaf? If you don't drive more than 220 miles per day and can charge at home. You don't even think about range. I havent looked at a Gas prices since I got my EV. And I'm so happy not to be on the up and down cycle of Petrol.
@@donaldmiller7942 I do drive 490 miles back and forth 2-3 times a month. So an Ev is not for me and I don’t mind the gas prices, it just cost me 30-40 dollars full tank on a highbrid.
Wonder why they could'nt just name it a RAV4 Electric or something like that. To, you know make it more appealing to returning costumers. Also,wonder what the true manufacturing costs are when they discount roughly half of the cars price.

Probably didn’t want to hurt the RAV4 name if it fail. RAV4 is one of Toyota best vehicle unlike the Venza. Plus this ev was a collab with Subaru!

@@littlekennytv5668 I looked at cargurus for the toyota EV and did not see any deals like the one at your dealer. At 50K its not worth the price as it barely gets over 200 mile range. But if you can really pick this up for 33K with 17K discount I'd say that might be worth it to some. Me personally will never adopt this this until we have a decent infrastructure. As it stands its pathetic with many charging stations not working and there aren't that many. Plus its very fragmented. Really only doable for those that own homes, have garages with a level two charger and only use it to putt around town.

I bought a new Chevy Avalanche Z66 5.3L V8 w/ leather in 2002 for $28,000 from a MSRP of $31k. in 2017 I bought my Tundra V8 5.7L SR5 w/ optional 38 gallon gas tank for $31,000 (very little increase in 15 years) My son bought his 2019 Tacoma TRD Pro Sport for $32,000 WHY is the new Tundra w/ V6 $85,000? (Thats $54,000 more and not calculating dealer fee, tax and title) And the 4 cylinder Tacoma $65,000. Will we see 15-30 year auto financing in the future?

They have no choice. The BZ4X came out years ago after Toyota spent billions in hydrogen, and ignored EV development. So to to try and catch up they produced the BZ4X Potato. Using the Toyota name it was more expensive than other brands yet had a smaller battery lacking range and features Tesla, Hyundai, and Chevy held in their cars. As the BZ4X ages they likely need to now sell/lease them at a steep loss as competitors cars are getting even better/cheaper than these first gen Toyota cars (lease price is decent). I remember some years back when I decided I wanted to buy my first EV. I went and tested a BZ4X, and a few other cars. I ended up going with a Bolt Premier with 35k miles for $16k (out the door price). Best car I ever owned. Now at 100k+ miles, and battery is at just under 3% degradation. So I should get 500k miles out of this car easily. I know Toyota can make a good car for a cheap price. But they have to WANT too. However right now Toyota wants to hold onto it's dominant ICE model. So since last year they have been offering their advertising $$ on news sites who's willing to host EV hit pieces (many misleading) to sway public sentiment. That's why so see so many anti EV stories now.

@@littlekennytv5668 same to you. The Bolts use the same battery as in the Volt which were very durable. To increase battery life I charge to %80 except on long trips, and minimize deep cycling (draining battery below %30 is exponentially more battery wear when charging). I also keep the car out of extreme heat (use shade when you can in hot summers), and have a garage which protects from the worst weather. Under the right conditions/care EV batteries should last a LONG LONG time. Well over a standard ICE cars lifetime.

Not sure if you have to finance through Toyota financial to get to 17,500 but I was pretty sure he said you could get 17,500 off this deal is only through the end of the month so maybe that’s why they don’t have the sale price. That brings it down to 33K. That's competitive with a Rav 4 price point. It shows weak EV sales are tied to high prices. Now if you think a RAV 4 ain't worth 33K then that's another matter. But it is one of the best selling compact SUV on the market.

Which one? The EV or RAV? Either way you will find your answer on cargurus. Just make sure you set your filters to at least 300-500 miles from your zip code. Rav 4's are in heavy demand and some dealers might not have them. But the Rav's list price are around 33K The EV goes down to 33K at the dealer Kenny was at once you apply that 17K dollar discount. Not saying other dealers are doing that because I don't see those prices offered on cargurus. They must not want them on their lot anymore. I bet they will not accept new allocations either. It has Not sold worth a shit. If you want the EV it might be worth a trip to Kenny's dealer to pick one up. They are pretty crappy though. Not much range. Even with the discount you better off buying a model Y tesla.

Tesla was selling new long range model Ys with 310 miles range, AWD 0-60 in 3.8 seconds for $37,000 after $7,500 federal tax credit.
I would not buy an inferior Toyota EV unless it's in the low 20k range just because the resale value is bad compared to a Tesla.
Buy a Tesla of you want an EV for better efficiency and software. Buy a Toyota if you want a hybrid.

High prices aren't the only reason EV's don't sell. Takes hours to charge them up, the charging stations are few and far between. Limited range. The cost to replace a battery and do maintenance. The batteries don't like cold weather and the range and power takes a nosedive in cold weather. The batteries don't like the summertime heat either, lol. It's recommended in the summer heat, NOT to use the AC because of the extra heat on the batteries on a hot day using the AC, lol. The batteries are under the cars, you know, where the rocks and other road debris hits, lol. Oh yeah, the batteries don't like water, lol, don't run over small puddles or drive them in the rain, lol. When one catches on fire, the fire department doesn't even bother to put them out, they just surround it and let it burn. Seems that not even water under the pressure of a firehose can put them out. Sort of like the jets in the Navy, made with magnesium parts, when they catch fire, a bulldozer just pushes them off the flightdeck into the ocean, cya later alligator. Ever wonder why a modern Aircraft Carrier has a bulldozer on the flightdeck, now you know. EV's are also spy cars, everything you do in them is recorded and electronically sent to the cloud, where that info is stored and researched. EV's electronic system can also be hacked from another vehicle driving near you, I damn sure don't want anybody steering my car from afar, lol. There are many other reasons not to buy one, lol, rent one, don't buy one, find out for yourself. Oh yeah, they're very flimsy, if you hit a curb, you will most likely bend the body and crack the battery, lol, it's totaled.

Yeah in cold weather instead of 90MPG it only gets 50 to 60 mpg. What a turd😂 And somehow the instant torque going from 0 to 60 much faster than an ICE car is horrible. Don't waste your money on cheap electricity when you can pay through the nose for gas😢
