Oh, hello. Shmorky's schizo ex-girlfriend, Amanda here. Have not watched yet, but just commenting to let people know I'm still here. I'm still schizophrenic, but I handle it better now. I still have a laugh at videos like this. I actually still replay my meltdown every now and again and laugh hysterically at it. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia at 11, so what was recorded in that video is not that much of a unique state for me. Not the screaming and yelling - but that's why when I say to people "I need to be alone, take some deep breaths, and sort my head out for a few minutes - you'd better let me do it. Yes, I've been on my meds for a while and have managed to stay out of Psych Jail almost a year now. That's good for me. I rarely think about Shmorky in recent years. I mostly just remember the good times I had out in Missouri and Washington. I've forgotten most of my time with Shmorky. Anyway, just thought it was funny this video came up in my recommended feed today. Always a surreal moment to be scrolling on your phone and see a video about YOU come up. I'll watch it in full when I get a chance, looks like it'll be a fun watch. Kudos to the producer. I joked a lot in the video about it, but it is nice to see you're doing way better (I hope you like the video when you finally watch it) I just have one question for you though Amanda: Do you think Shmorky did the deed of leaving this mortal coil, or do you think he's still clinging onto life somewhere out there?
@@magicmush1998 Nah, he doesn't have it in him to un-alive himself. The answer is probably (and unfortunately) the most boring one: He's still living with his folks in Mineral, Virginia. Which, if he actually cleaned up the place, is actually a pretty cozy trailer. I'm sure it's still ratchet as fuck from nobody cleaning though. It's just wild how the guy straight up disappeared in a way that's pretty difficult to do in this day and age. Back in the 70s/80s/90s you could with not so much difficulty go off the grid and vanish from everyone you knew. Nowadays, and especially with Shmorky's non-stopped internet use (when I lived with him) it's crazy to me that he's never (provably) popped up somewhere online. Also - it will never not haunt me that while he was in his room on his PC (where I idiotically thought he was working on animations or gaming) he was grooming actual fucking teens. While I was feet away in the other room. Had I seen what he was doing...things would have ended much, much worse for him.
Not only that, but in the audio he keeps telling her to "STOP PRETENDING" and shit, as if schizophrenics only act out for attention, just like he does Funny how he's accusing her of seeking out attention from her hallucinations, yet turns around and records her to seek out attention
This is something Onision would do, I mean he did something somewhat similar with his girlfriend Shiloh who suffered from seizures and she had one of her episode what does Greg do? He record her post the video instead seeking medical aid.
hearing that recording just showed me how delusional Shmorky was. Why would you want to record that and have other people hear that? That was just foul to listen to, as she was very clearly in such anguish.
He was also going to be on Steven Universe being buddies with Rebecca Sugar and she most likely knew of what Schmorky had done before then. Which begs the question why.

Hiding the meds of someone you supposedly love and then releasing the audio of their mental breakdown on the internet is probably one of the most disgusting, awful things I can think of.
Yeah that made me recoil and cringe in disgust as soon as Magic said it. Its a betrayal on many levels because Amanda trusted him enough to open up about her D.I.D. (It's not described as schizophrenia anymore, its Disassociative Identity Disorder), and he uses that agaisnt her, in something as petty as an argument. That's not okay, and could have exasperated her conditions further, and likely did, especially if he hid her f-ing meds. What a piece of work that person is, has all the morality of Harvey Wienstien.

The “Shmorkys Girlfriend” section was like a slap in the face. It somehow got worse every second with absolutely no warning. No like “so yeah Shmorky turned out to be abusive” to preface it. Just straight from “he got a gf” to “the gf has schizophrenia” to “shmorky hides her pills”. And to top it off the audio is some of the most fascinatingly horrifying shit I’ve ever heard. What sounds like two cartoon characters shrieking at each other, each trying to top each other in being annoying. While one is gaslighting the other. The latter of whom then out of no where shrieks “THERE IS NO ANSWER TO THE JEWISH QUESTION!” Like is Shmorky hiding her meds, and feeding her 4Chan posts?

I have schizophrenia, and I would LOVE if people wouldn't throw around "schizo" with the connotation of an insult, as if suffering from bouts of psychosis is a moral failing on our part. But unfortunately social phenomena have a strong effect on the themes of our delusions, so now schizophrenia is known as "the mental illness that makes you into an antisemite," and that really doesn't help our case that it's not a moral failing.
How can someone have such a lack of self awareness? It sounds like a parody but he's 100% genuine. I'm not surprised that he ended up in a mental institution. His gf might have been schizophrenic, but he was way more mentally ill. Good thing she got away from him

it's not just the animation/entertainment industry, it's very often in real life. Look at most serial killers and other deviants of this kind. They were often abused themselves before turning the knife on innocent people, becoming much worse than their own abusers Anectodal but I was abused mentally a lot by my mother and my siblings, and I was a bully during my childhood and my teens. I regret having brought this pain upon others but I believe the reason for my violence was the violence I felt myself
one of the unfortunate realities of abuse is that it's a cycle; statistically the vast majority of those that abuse have been on the receiving end of it themselves, most commonly during childhood. it takes a hell of a lot of strength for someone perpetuating that cycle to break it.
I've never seen anything good happen in darkness. The persona of Schmorky and the somewhat anonymous nature of platforms like Discord made it easy for him to become a huge creep.
There's some dark psychology behind it. You get abused, and in order to understand it and maintain a level of control in a world that seems so wicked, you become an abuser yourself.
Schizophrenia is one of the most painful mental illnesses to have, I feel bad for what Amanda went through, but seeing her comment, I am glad she doesn't seem to think negatively of it. Still though, hope anyone with Schizophrenia has gotten the help they need and is living a good life.
When i got the right medication (Haloperidol is the drug poepple describe turning them into zombies and that made me feel worse) my lufe turned for the better

My abusive negligent doctor made me take so much haloperidol that i had an overdose(anti-psychotic overdose is worse than death). I'm happy that i'm in a point of my life that i'm almost free of medication
My mom is schizophrenic its very painful to witness. It's hard to deal with a parent seeing delusions, crying, and being distressed over imaginary things, they're delusions are so strong and so real in their perspective that they ruined their lives over it. I'm always worried she's gonna have another psychotic break and start wandering the streets She says she has it under control now but still.
The one silver lining to schizophrenia is that it is technically a temporary condition. If someone can survive it, it does eventually burn itself out. However, that can take over a decade and who knows how badly your life will be messed up in the meantime...

I would like to just clarify for any interested that the schmorky situation wasn't responsible for lowtax's passing. Lowtax was "forced" to sell Something Awful and coasted off the money from the sale, he wasted all of that money feeding an opioid addiction and frivolous spending. At the same time he was divorced twice and both wives fled accused him of abuse and one of which took refuge at battered women's shelters with their kids because he allegadly was holding her passport. The breaking point was when he failed to gain custody of his children and faced payments he couldn't hope to pay back.

SA developed a culture that was radically different while lowtax was gone and it became very Tumblr esq in it's lean to the left compared to the people who originally found Chris Chan and it's user base had a poor reputation across the internet for being feral picks from that earlier era. When the whole schmorky situation imploded Lowtax was active on KF and tried to go back to Something Awful but found it's user base was insufferable, it was going in circles loudly defending schmorkys kinks, talking about how schmorky might be a p@do who wants to have his diaper changed and to eat the poo poo but you shouldn't miss gender him, ect. Lowtax didn't like this and wanted to reclaim SA from what he thought was a minority of users by kicking some of the mod team who largely had been running the website in his absence and the whole website revolted. The userbase hated Lowtax because they saw him as exploitative, they were the ones to build and sustain the website for years while he sat back for years without updating the forum, coasting off ad revenue, and account money and he tries to come back and change them and fire employees who were running the website. Not to speak ill of the dead but Lowtax was the type of person who couldn't stand confrontation and would run away from his problems, when faced with having a hostile userbase, change moderation, update the forum software, ect or take the money that the forum raised to buy itself from Lowtax. Lowtax choose the money, he wasn't "forced" to sell the website but at the end for Lowtax there was no way for him to continue owning the website as it was.
I used to watch Garbage Gaming for a time and now it’s really haunting to watch their old videos. Not because of Shmorky, but Lotax having committed suicide. After all of that, Lotax actually tried to get in contact with Shmorky again, because he missed him. His life was in the shitter, and he ended and nobody so much as shed a tear, just shock and moved on. Now add on to the fact that Shmorky hasn’t returned to the internet since, and Garbage Gaming is just the most haunted and cursed channel ever. Playing fever dream games by dead people.

I didn't know he committed suicide. I used to watch Gaming Garbage as well, and actually didn't care that Schmorky had an annoying voice. Sucks they were both garbage people. I remember all of the drama surrounding Lowtax's situation with his ex wife but haven't thought about it until now. Cursed channel indeed.
Nickelodoen is infamous of how poorly they treat their creators, cancelling nearly every show they own if it isn't in their top 3 most successful as soon as it's released. Turning them down is very understandable, just look at how they treated Greenblat (The guy who made most of the most acclaimed Spongebob episodes ever)
Tbh wanting creative control is good but with how “interesting” politics in media has become I think Nick definitely dodged something. Also a second Dan Schneider LMAOOO

What happened to Shmorky is kind of depressing, it's rather hard to see someone who made so many iconic memes and animations turn into a disturbed individual on the same level as Chris-Chan. I've seen many major internet figures over the years go downhill and turn into awful people (especially if they were ever active on Tumblr at one point or another), but I don't think anyone plummeted as far down as Shmorky has.
It would definitely not be.. too out of character for Nick. Though I hear he was so obsessed with trying to make the show ABOUT gender identity. Like not even featuring it, that was the MAIN PREMISE he wanted. So they pulled back their request.
The "Stonetoss is Shmorky" theory is so entertaining because another theory that goes about is that Stonetoss is another comic artist named redpanels, who rebranded after the comic presumably started losing steam. meaning that if both these theories are true, Shmorky, whilst presumably doing toilet diaper RP, managed to rebrand 2 times within 3 years, once while still going under shmorky before shit came to light, and each time not only managed to start a relatively clean slate, but also managed to garner moderate to massive success on all of his alias's Huffing diapers really does something to you hot damn

It's rela sad I'm gonna be honest, I didn't know much at all about Lowtax before this other than him being the creator of the SA forums. I got attached to him, and then... I learn he killed himself at the end of this video. I hope his kids are fine now.
I'll put money on mental hospital. I recently had a relative go missing for several years, and we were all worried she may have been murdered or something, but then she popped up in a mental health ward. They don't really inform people they're in there for safety reasons.
Mostly for social stigma. If you are mentally ill then you are deemed unworthy of being alive. Getting a job is impossible and having a life is a nightmare when everyone treats you like you're not human. I had to abandon my life and restart with new people even though I didn't do anything to them. I just told them I was mentally ill. I act the exact same way with the new people. They just don't know anything. And therefore treat me well
I feel so bad for schizophrenics. Its the only mental illness that can be openlly mocked. I knew someone with it and he talked about an episode where he was convinced people had his mother for ransom. It must be a living nightmare to not be able to trust yourself.

There was a reason why Shmorky being accused of being a furry was a big deal on SA. Due to many, many negitave issues with furries in the forums. Lowtax made either being a furry or mentioning them a bannable offense. It was strictly enforced, but Lowtax was also notorious for his inconsistency with ban enforcement and would have made an exception for Shmorky. Which would have pissed everyone off and caused the NSFW board FYAD to spill out into the rest of the site.

Yeah tell me about it. I didn't really start playing flash games until like late middle school, so a lot of the Certified Childhood Classics are unknown to me. Same with AVGN and Nostlagia Critic. Kinda happens when you didn't have a computer for quite a while.

Just alot of RuneScape and youtube once it was out and le internet meme browsing on the 4chins so I saw alot of the early animations that went viral but every so often I come across one of these 'internet documentary' type channels and see entire meme crazes and e-famous types I didn't even know existed.
I had this realization when I decided to check top 100 gaming YT channels from socialblade and recognized maybe 10-15. I'm pretty much terminally online and at any time there's good chance something from that sphere is playing on my second screen. That's probably the area of social media I'm most familiar with. And apparently I don't know shit even about that. None of us have seen anything but a small fraction of everything that internet has to offer.

Man that audio snippet of Amanda’s breakdown was hard to listen to. She sounded so disoriented and terrified.. My sister is schizophrenic so I am projecting a bit (her episodes were different: really withdrawn and difficult to get through to. thankfully responded well to meds but is still very very anxious, some autoimmune issues popped up too), but hearing him taunt his obviously distressed girlfriend like that makes my blood boil. And while I do feel horrible for the abuse he suffered throughout his youth, what he did later just makes him a pathetic, disgusting, waste of space.
One of the most appalling/uncomfortable things to me personally is the... blatant disregard Shmorky had for consent. Plenty of people are talking about him being emotionally abusive already or just saying "lmao look at his weird fetishes", but like. He was pissing himself in front of his girlfriend despite her fully expressed firm discomfort. He was guilting people into roleplaying with him and accusing them of kinkshaming when they said no-- that person also happened to be a minor, but given that they lied about their age, I don't know how much I can really blame Shmorky for that. I'm just flip-flopping between disgust and sympathy. Shmorky was clearly mentally troubled and being blasted online a-la Chris-chan absolutely didn't help. If he's still alive, I hope he gets the help he obviously needs and learns how to engage with his fetishes and his gender identity in a healthy way. And, y'know, to not guilt and force people into engaging with his fetishes with no regard for if they actually want to. Part of me wonders if his early days of taking commissions he was personally uncomfortable with screwed up his own idea of what consent looks like, but that's just speculation.
Even if the person lied about their age it's Shmorky's responsibility to check and confirm that they're as old as they say they are, don't blame the child.

I don't know how you'd expect him to verify beyond that-- faceclaim, an ID? Faces are unreliable for determining age, and something like verifying via ID is only a good idea *in person,* because sending it over the internet (even censored) is a massive security risk unless the other person is trained to handle sensitive info, which... Shmorky absolutely isn't. People can lie very easily on the internet, and that's why people (especially kids) do in order to do things they shouldn't, even though I'm sure part of it is also the fact that Shmorky pressured them. Which, granted, is still bad, but the point is Shmorky didn't KNOW they were a child, and that surprised me since most of the recountings I heard framed Shmorky as a pedophile outright. I'm not saying it's the child's fault since they were absolutely still pressured into doing something they didn't want to do, regardless of their age. I just find it interesting (and also somewhat unfair) that some people framed Shmorky as an outright groomer, when in reality (to anyone's knowledge) he did not deliberately go after children for sexual interactions.
@@shrimpdan2557 I actually heard something like people were accusing shmorky with interacting with a minor, when the person who was a "minor" wasn't actually a minor when she interacted with shmorky. But she waited a week after the rumors spread to clarify the truth that she was over 18 when they interacted. I am not sure if you are talking about that person. But there was evidence that she was 18 or older like how she had tweeted she had a lease for an apartment, etc. so she had to be 18, and then she eventually confirmed that info.
That's the takeaway I think a lot of people are missing; There are a lot of nasty ass fetishes out there but whether we like it or not it's fair game as long as the people involved are consenting adults, and whatever people are into isn't our business. So that said, yes his fetishes were gross but having them in itself wasn't really the issue, it's that he continuously ignored people's discomfort towards it and villainized them for wanting nothing to do with it. Remove the fetish aspect and that's still someone who's relationship with intimacy and consent is clearly unhealthy.

"sandypants" was actually in a skype group chat i was in with a bunch of my friends all the wayback in 2009. i thought she was incredibly strange but never thought much of it at the time. this whole fiasco still fucks with me to this day one thing i will comment on is she wasn't pretending to be 13. she claimed she was somewhere in her late teens or early 20s, don't remember what age exactly since it was such a long time ago but definitely not 13
One of the things that makes it hardest to piece together the exact saga of Shmorky is that even apart from himself, almost all the people who knew him best and ever had anything to say about him have turned out to be unreliable narrators in some form or another. Amanda was by her own admission paranoid about continuing her regimen of medication, took Kratom (known to induce anxiety and psychosis), and was told by Shmorky in at least one of their chatlogs, "There are people that are so anti-pill that it makes me annoyed. Telling someone to 'go off their meds' is bad advice. Always." So it's entirely possible the accusations by the paranoid shizophrenic were... accusations made by a paranoid schizophrenic. Lowtax was in a sharp downward spiral heading into his second fairly messy divorce (and ALSO recorded and posted a 15-minute argument between him and his spouse looking for sympathy points after Shmorky did it, Jesus Christ). Carefully was more than happy to let the narrative of her being underage during those ERP's unfold which was the bomb drop that actually turned everyone against Shmorky the hardest including Lowtax. Weird diaper cub roleplay shit is a red flag and making your gender your entire identity is offputting, but this would've crossed the line into actual, practicing, danger-to-people pedophile territory. Except, she went back on that almost two weeks after the fact, once the damage was already done and Shmorky had been run out of every community and (allegedly) made an attempt on his own life. People have dug through the logs more thoroughly than me and come up with plenty of evidence to suggest she was 19 at the time, so the most damning thing that can actually be said about what transpired (other than a bunch of weird fetish crap) is that Shmorky was in his late 30's and clearly didn't mind going after women half his own age. Carefully also dropped several other accusations about cheating and so forth that turned out to be BS and at this point I'm starting to get the impression she just saw an opportunity to get some attention by dunking on someone she felt was a bit of a creep and took it too far. There are some even greyer areas; there's evidence pointing in every possible direction that Peaches and Sandy might be the same person who _isn't_ Shmorky, or _one_ of them might be Shmorky, or Soliloqueef might be Peaches mugging for attention. There was at least one other video covering this in a little more detail and it's confusing as hell. To add even more confusion, the Sandy account made a post at the same time as Shmorky was supposed to have been institutionalized for his unaliving attempt a few days prior. So either Shmorky isn't Sandy, he somehow got free-reign internet access to update himself on _very_ recent Kiwifarms drama and log into an Inkbunny account despite being confined for his own safety, or he wasn't even institutionalized for the brief period that he was seemingly confirmed to have been. It was also a running gag on the SA forums that Shmorky had paid rent with BJ's at one point, because he had let that slip and at the time seemed firmly unbothered by it. One of those "yeah, that was a time in my life but hey at least it makes for a funny story" things -- until in his final months of relevancy when he made that autobiographical comic (which was dug up after being posted under a sockpuppet somewhere IIRC) during the height of his diva phase, when suddenly it was this horrible abusive arrangement in retrospect. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't, and I know trauma is a hell of a thing but Shmorky absolutely loved playing the victim in his post-tumblr years so it's difficult to not view it through that lens after having treated it as a joke for most of his life. And the theory I'd heard about where he ended up was that, fresh out of connections, occupations, and funds, he didn't really have any options left but to move back in with his abusive family. Much as I'd like to believe he was institutionalized long-term and that's been doing him some good, he lives in the US. Who would even be paying for it? Although really, the thing I'm most disappointed this video missed its opportunity to highlight is the one immortal line dug up from that nightmare abyss of ERP sessions: "I [blank] your [blank] and do a particularly good job in that aspect of the scenario." To this day my brain can't quite process that that was an actual chain of words spoken by a sentient person.

matters very little, Shmorky had varies personas and this was known. and hide the diaper thing successfully for ten years, ten years before being exposed. Red Pages was failing, Stonetoss had the right balance of trial and error. Far too coincidental. A lot of joke habits can expose his Shmorky nature, like his poop jokes in both personas.

I know people are laughing at the audio of Amanda's breakdown because of Shmorkys voice, but I just can't laugh at what is basically abusive behaviour.

One time I was watching Xavier Renegade Angel with some friends (pretty funny show) and in one of the episodes of season 2 they got a bunch of animators to make a collab of all their stuff in one episode, and there was a moment that was only like 5 seconds long but was without a doubt unmistakably Shmorky's style and it felt like whiplash seeing them again after so long and knowing they were a creep. Oh, hello. Shmorky's schizo ex-girlfriend, Amanda here. Have not watched yet, but just commenting to let people know I'm still here. I'm still schizophrenic, but I handle it better now. I still have a laugh at videos like this. I actually still replay my meltdown every now and again and laugh hysterically at it. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia at 11, so what was recorded in that video is not that much of a unique state for me. Not the screaming and yelling - but that's why when I say to people "I need to be alone, take some deep breaths, and sort my head out for a few minutes - you'd better let me do it. Yes, I've been on my meds for a while and have managed to stay out of Psych Jail almost a year now. That's good for me. I rarely think about Shmorky in recent years. I mostly just remember the good times I had out in Missouri and Washington. I've forgotten most of my time with Shmorky. Anyway, just thought it was funny this video came up in my recommended feed today. Always a surreal moment to be scrolling on your phone and see a video about YOU come up. I'll watch it in full when I get a chance, looks like it'll be a fun watch. Kudos to the producer. Which, if he actually cleaned up the place, is actually a pretty cozy trailer. I'm sure it's still ratchet as fuck from nobody cleaning though.
It's just wild how the guy straight up disappeared in a way that's pretty difficult to do in this day and age. Back in the 70s/80s/90s you could with not so much difficulty go off the grid and vanish from everyone you knew. Nowadays, and especially with Shmorky's non-stopped internet use (when I lived with him) it's crazy to me that he's never (provably) popped up somewhere online.

one of the unfortunate realities of abuse is that it's a cycle; statistically the vast majority of those that abuse have been on the receiving end of it themselves, most commonly during childhood.

I've never seen anything good happen in darkness. The persona of Schmorky and the somewhat anonymous nature of platforms like Discord made it easy for him to become a huge creep.

I would like to just clarify for any interested that the schmorky situation wasn't responsible for lowtax's passing. Lowtax was "forced" to sell Something Awful and coasted off the money from the sale, he wasted all of that money feeding an opioid addiction and frivolous spending. At the same time he was divorced twice and both wives fled accused him of abuse and one of which took refuge at battered women's shelters with their kids because he allegadly was holding her passport. The breaking point was when he failed to gain custody of his children and faced payments he couldn't hope to pay back.

When the whole schmorky situation imploded Lowtax was active on KF and tried to go back to Something Awful but found it's user base was insufferable, it was going in circles loudly defending schmorkys kinks, talking about how schmorky might be a p@do who wants to have his diaper changed and to eat the poo poo but you shouldn't miss gender him, ect. Lowtax didn't like this and wanted to reclaim SA from what he thought was a minority of users by kicking some of the mod team who largely had been running the website in his absence and the whole website revolted. The userbase hated Lowtax because they saw him as exploitative, they were the ones to build and sustain the website for years while he sat back for years without updating the forum, coasting off ad revenue, and account money and he tries to come back and change them and fire employees who were running the website. Not to speak ill of the dead but Lowtax was the type of person who couldn't stand confrontation and would run away from his problems, when faced with having a hostile userbase, change moderation, update the forum software, ect or take the money that the forum raised to buy itself from Lowtax. Lowtax choose the money, he wasn't "forced" to sell the website but at the end for Lowtax there was no way for him to continue owning the website as it was.

I used to watch Garbage Gaming for a time and now it’s really haunting to watch their old videos. Not because of Shmorky, but Lotax having committed suicide. After all of that, Lotax actually tried to get in contact with Shmorky again, because he missed him. His life was in the shitter, and he ended and nobody so much as shed a tear, just shock and moved on. Now add on to the fact that Shmorky hasn’t returned to the internet since, and Garbage Gaming is just the most haunted and cursed channel ever. Playing fever dream games by dead people.

There was a reason why Shmorky being accused of being a furry was a big deal on SA. Due to many, many negitave issues with furries in the forums. Lowtax made either being a furry or mentioning them a bannable offense. It was strictly enforced, but Lowtax was also notorious for his inconsistency with ban enforcement and would have made an exception for Shmorky. Which would have pissed everyone off and caused the NSFW board FYAD to spill out into the rest of the site.

One of the most appalling/uncomfortable things to me personally is the... blatant disregard Shmorky had for consent. Plenty of people are talking about him being emotionally abusive already or just saying "lmao look at his weird fetishes", but like. He was pissing himself in front of his girlfriend despite her fully expressed firm discomfort. He was guilting people into roleplaying with him and accusing them of kinkshaming when they said no-- that person also happened to be a minor, but given that they lied about their age, I don't know how much I can really blame Shmorky for that. I'm just flip-flopping between disgust and sympathy. Shmorky was clearly mentally troubled and being blasted online a-la Chris-chan absolutely didn't help. If he's still alive, I hope he gets the help he obviously needs and learns how to engage with his fetishes and his gender identity in a healthy way. And, y'know, to not guilt and force people into engaging with his fetishes with no regard for if they actually want to. Shmorky absolutely isn't. People can lie very easily on the internet, and that's why people (especially kids) do in order to do things they shouldn't, even though I'm sure part of it is also the fact that Shmorky pressured them. But she waited a week after the rumors spread to clarify the truth that she was over 18 when they interacted. I am not sure if you are talking about that person. But there was evidence that she was 18 or older like how she had tweeted she had a lease for an apartment, etc. so she had to be 18, and then she eventually confirmed that info.
That's the takeaway I think a lot of people are missing; There are a lot of nasty ass fetishes out there but whether we like it or not it's fair game as long as the people involved are consenting adults, and whatever people are into isn't our business. One of the things that makes it hardest to piece together the exact saga of Shmorky is that even apart from himself, almost all the people who knew him best and ever had anything to say about him have turned out to be unreliable narrators in some form or another. Amanda was by her own admission paranoid about continuing her regimen of medication, took Kratom (known to induce anxiety and psychosis), and was told by Shmorky in at least one of their chatlogs, "There are people that are so anti-pill that it makes me annoyed. Telling someone to 'go off their meds' is bad advice. Always." So it's entirely possible the accusations by the paranoid shizophrenic were... accusations made by a paranoid schizophrenic.
Lowtax was in a sharp downward spiral heading into his second fairly messy divorce (and ALSO recorded and posted a 15-minute argument between him and his spouse looking for sympathy points after Shmorky did it, Jesus Christ). Carefully was more than happy to let the narrative of her being underage during those ERP's unfold which was the bomb drop that actually turned everyone against Shmorky the hardest including Lowtax. Weird diaper cub roleplay shit is a red flag and making your gender your entire identity is offputting, but this would've crossed the line into actual, practicing, danger-to-people pedophile territory.
Except, she went back on that almost two weeks after the fact, once the damage was already done and Shmorky had been run out of every community and (allegedly) made an attempt on his own life. People have dug through the logs more thoroughly than me and come up with plenty of evidence to suggest she was 19 at the time, so the most damning thing that can actually be said about what transpired (other than a bunch of weird fetish crap) is that Shmorky was in his late 30's and clearly didn't mind going after women half his own age. Carefully also dropped several other accusations about cheating and so forth that turned out to be BS and at this point I'm starting to get the impression she just saw an opportunity to get some attention by dunking on someone she felt was a bit of a creep and took it too far.
There are some even greyer areas; there's evidence pointing in every possible direction that Peaches and Sandy might be the same person who _isn't_ Shmorky, or _one_ of them might be Shmorky, or Soliloqueef might be Peaches mugging for attention. There was at least one other video covering this in a little more detail and it's confusing as hell. To add even more confusion, the Sandy account made a post at the same time as Shmorky was supposed to have been institutionalized for his unaliving attempt a few days prior. So either Shmorky isn't Sandy, he somehow got free-reign internet access to update himself on _very_ recent Kiwifarms drama and log into an Inkbunny account despite being confined for his own safety, or he wasn't even institutionalized for the brief period that he was seemingly confirmed to have been.
It was also a running gag on the SA forums that Shmorky had paid rent with BJ's at one point, because he had let that slip and at the time seemed firmly unbothered by it. One of those "yeah, that was a time in my life but hey at least it makes for a funny story" things -- until in his final months of relevancy when he made that autobiographical comic (which was dug up after being posted under a sockpuppet somewhere IIRC) during the height of his diva phase, when suddenly it was this horrible abusive arrangement in retrospect. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't, and I know trauma is a hell of a thing but Shmorky absolutely loved playing the victim in his post-tumblr years so it's difficult to not view it through that lens after having treated it as a joke for most of his life.
And the theory I'd heard about where he ended up was that, fresh out of connections, occupations, and funds, he didn't really have any options left but to move back in with his abusive family. Much as I'd like to believe he was institutionalized long-term and that's been doing him some good, he lives in the US. Who would even be paying for it?
Although really, the thing I'm most disappointed this video missed its opportunity to highlight is the one immortal line dug up from that nightmare abyss of ERP sessions: "I [blank] your [blank] and do a particularly good job in that aspect of the scenario." To this day my brain can't quite process that that was an actual chain of words spoken by a sentient person.

Prior to this, I basically had zero knowledge about this guy, but when I saw 4:30 I felt like someone decked me with a brass knuckle. And now after having watched the entire thing, all I can say is wew. This dude made me feel both absolutely vile and sorry for him at the same time. When you mentioned that he also joined Tumblr during its peak cancer years, I knew it was over for this guy. My condolences towards Lowtax and the years that were shaved off his life when he found out what creep was standing near his children without him even knowing.

One time I was watching Xavier Renegade Angel with some friends (pretty funny show) and in one of the episodes of season 2 they got a bunch of animators to make a collab of all their stuff in one episode, and there was a moment that was only like 5 seconds long but was without a doubt unmistakably Shmorky's style and it felt like whiplash seeing them again after so long and knowing they were a creep.
