In an era where self-improvement and personal development are more accessible than ever, podcasts have emerged as a vital medium for exploring these themes. You know what's hilarious about the toy market now? Adults are the ones buying them, not kids Edit: because some people missed the point. *They're buying toys for themselves* , most kids past a certain age don't care to ask for toys, they'd rather ask for an iPad, a phone, a console, a computer or money for a game they're already playing
There's a reason because most of us who were kids always wanted the toys we saw in our childhood as we grew up got jobs and living life we decided it's ok to buy toys we always want as a kid and its fine to have them.

I went to Dashcon 2014 on Saturday, not knowing the event that transpired the night before. I was cosplaying as Hunter S. Thompson, while I met up with friends of mine who were at the con. I saw the ball pit, I walked around the con, and then I left. I had no idea that I would attend a convention that would live in such infamy.
Some creators are kind of fed up with VidCon right now due to their last second switch to requiring a $1000 pass to get into the hotel. The climate is ripe for TanaCon 2...
Man at this point I don't even see the appeal of going to vidcon anymore It seems like all the youtubers in 2016 that I loved either retired, barley post any videos, or just straight up left
I was surprised to hear it was cancelled, due to the size of the fandom surrounding it, so out of curiosity, I googled it and yeah, it was concluded, not cancelled. It’s a small distinction, but still a necessary one.
There's a similar thing with Steven Universe where (and I preface this with the fact that I watched all shows I'll mention religiously as they aired) Adventure Time fans started spreading a lie about a year after Steven Universe Future finished that the original Steven Universe series had been cancelled over a season before it finished, to imply it was a bad quality show that nobody should watch. In spite of this being demonstrably untrue due to every episode of SU being aired on television, the sequel movie being aired on television, and all episodes of the sequel series SU:F being aired on television, SU fans have since adopted this lie because it makes them look like victims. In reality, SU was popular enough with teen/adult lesbians that they were a significant factor in deciding the scheduling of upcoming episodes - by airing them on tv in big "Stevenbombs" that were announced a month or more in advance, adults were much more able to adjust their life schedules to be able to watch it and pump up CN's ad revenue. By contrast, when Nickolodeon were faced with the same scenario with Avatar: The Legend of Korra, they chose to remove the show from television and air it exclusively online, meaning that not a single episode of the final season ever aired on tv, but I have never seen a single person claim it was cancelled in spite of there being a much stronger argument to be made that it was.
@@alexthorold3496Steven Universe ended with a movie and an epilogue season called “Steven Universe Future”. Think of the One Piece time skip/Naruto Shippuden, they’re basically indistinguishable.

If you ever plan on doing a sequel to this (because there are that many convention disasters), I’d highly recommend looking into Tentmoot. It was a Lord Of The Rings convention created by a scam artist, who is nowadays known as Andrew Blake, who claimed to have a “duplicate soul of Elijah Wood”. The convention never happened because the planning was just Andy begging the venue and vendors for free shit at the last minute, but it still managed to leave three Aussie and Kiwi actors from the Peter Jackson LOTR films stranded in America for a few days.

Love the video but you left out a couple details about Tanacon. A couple of my favorites include: The lack of security (seriously one dude just flashed his VidCon badge and got in) and Tana Mongeau didn't even pay a penny of her own money for the convention.
Soon there will be enough con conventions to host Convention Con - aka ConCon, a Convention where each booth is dedicated to a failed convention while the ConCon runner runs away with your money.
It's honestly news to me. I guess I was pretty disconnected from greater Internet things around that time. If it wasn't in my TH-cam subscription feed, it did not exist.
A friend of mine wanted to do a local con, so I looked into events that failed. I remember reading about one that was started by a mother-daughter team that basically only started the con because they wanted to meet Johnny Yong Bosch. It's been a while so can't remember the name.
A con I’ve been going to called Holiday Matsuri failed pretty bad this last year. Had a huge incident with the water coolers around the con being drugged and just a total lack of security overall
A friend of mine is an organizer for a moderately successful convention (this weekend actually), and he's got some stories to tell about how much of a ballache it is. Venue fees are outrageous to begin with, but if you're even _slightly_ popular they jack up the rates. Sponsors are hard to get because for the most part, any increase in sales from a single annual convention is negligible. He even once had to cancel their headliner performance _3 days beforehand,_ solely because the venue franchise owners (who had _already approved it)_ found out it was a metal band with a less-than-Christian image. Definitely not something just any Joe Schmo can try.
i recently heard that LPSCon (a convention for Little Pet Shop toys and fans) this year was disastrous, including a venue with no air conditioning and long registration lines, overpriced toys for sale and booths selling stolen merchandise, VIP tickets that didnt include what was promised, and more!
For a bit of detail, Tumblr itself didn't sign in for Dashcon either. The reason it was called Dashcon was in reference to the Tumblr DASHboard (scroll page) since the organizers would have needed permission from Tumblr itself to use the name and branding, which Tumblr declined. But it seems to be a pattern with certain cons to believe that if they're nice enough, payment doesn't matter! Dashcon, the Brony con, ECT. Do the people running these things understand it's good to get your funds together BEFORE you open the gates?
just wanted to say you're one of my favorite TH-camrs, your output is going at such a good pace and your content even if sometimes disturbing because of who or what you cover keeps my attention flawlessly Gonna watch this over some lunch, keep it up!
The Derpy Hooves thing is a great internet story on its own. The first 2 seasons of the show added a clumsy, possibly stupid nameless pony with googly eyes. The fans named her Derpy and turned her into a fandom-meme. And then Hasbro happened, making her "non-offensive", basically cancelling her. The fandom wasn't happy. Doesn't matter though, I felt the hype ended after S2.
@@jamesrosewell9081 Thats what people say who desperately clung to the community because otherwise noone would spend time with them. S3 started to ruin everyone with annoying stereotypical character traits.
@@jamesrosewell9081 It was mostly the end of S3 and the long hiatus that followed that marked the tide receding. Between the anger over the S3 finale and the uncertainty of another season coming, a lot of people lost interest. As the wait stretched on, most of the "bandwagon" types moved onto other things to sperg over and thus a lot of vitality in the fanbase was lost. By 2016 it was mostly just various species of insane people. If I'm not mistaken there was another distinct drop in participation in 2018. Further speciation has occurred since then; very interesting to observe.

I stuck it out with the con scene (mostly for the parties, even as a functional adult I gotta say that scene was pretty solid) until the show ended. The brony convention thing made me realize that one day all of the bronies just... disappeared from the public consciousness. I really can't think of the last time someone has talked about anything related to that show
There’s still a few bronies out there but nowadays theyre mostly quarantined specifically to brony sites, or sometimes furry sites. weirdly enough, I’ll occasionally see mlp fanart on like twitter or something, but its mostly from women. theyre usually in their early 20s so my theory is that they were the actual demographic of the show (little girls) when the show was at its peak who still look back at it fondly
actually it's picked up quite a bit in the last 2 years again, this time consisting of the now older people who watched it as kids revisiting their childhood shows. There was a 'zombie infection' type trend in the fandom a bit back which ironically revived it. It's SO much more chill now that the girls who grew up watching it are enjoying it rather than creepy horny 30 year old men.
"Turns out the mlp on predates dashcon" so thats twice the brony fandom were the first before a major popular thing (Sonic exe coming out later compared to the Luna games)

In an era where self-improvement and personal development are more accessible than ever, podcasts have emerged as a vital medium for exploring these themes. One standout in this genre is "Talk Tuah," hosted by Haley Welsch. This engaging podcast invites listeners to delve into the nuances of personal growth, mental health, and empowerment, all while fostering a sense of community among its audience.
Haley Welsch, a passionate advocate for mental wellness and personal development, brings a unique perspective to the podcast. With her background in psychology and years of experience in coaching, she offers insightful commentary and relatable anecdotes that resonate with her listeners. Each episode of "Talk Tuah" features conversations with a diverse array of guests, including psychologists, authors, and everyday individuals who have transformative stories to share. This variety not only enriches the content but also highlights the multifaceted nature of personal growth.
One of the core themes of "Talk Tuah" is the importance of vulnerability. Haley often emphasizes that sharing one's struggles can be a powerful tool for healing. By showcasing guests who candidly discuss their challenges and triumphs, the podcast creates a safe space for listeners to reflect on their own experiences. This focus on vulnerability is crucial in today's world, where social media often promotes an unrealistic portrayal of life. Haley's authentic approach encourages her audience to embrace their imperfections and understand that growth is not a linear process.
Another significant aspect of the podcast is its emphasis on actionable strategies. Each episode typically concludes with practical tips that listeners can implement in their daily lives. Whether it's mindfulness techniques, journaling prompts, or goal-setting strategies, Haley ensures that her audience leaves each episode with concrete tools for improvement. This practical focus sets "Talk Tuah" apart from many other personal development podcasts, which may rely heavily on abstract concepts without offering tangible steps for listeners.
The conversational style of "Talk Tuah" also contributes to its appeal. Haley's warm and approachable demeanor fosters a sense of intimacy, making listeners feel as if they are part of a genuine dialogue rather than a one-sided lecture. Her ability to ask insightful questions while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere encourages guests to share deeply, resulting in rich, thought-provoking discussions. This format not only keeps the content engaging but also allows for the exploration of complex topics in a digestible manner.
Listeners of "Talk Tuah" often report feeling inspired and motivated after each episode. The podcast has cultivated a community of individuals eager to support one another in their journeys of self-discovery and growth. Haley frequently interacts with her audience through social media platforms, encouraging feedback and fostering discussions that extend beyond the episodes themselves. This sense of community is vital in creating a supportive environment where listeners can share their experiences and learn from one another.
Moreover, "Talk Tuah" addresses a wide range of topics, from managing anxiety and overcoming self-doubt to setting healthy boundaries and cultivating resilience. By covering such a broad spectrum, the podcast appeals to a diverse audience, ensuring that there is something for everyone. This inclusivity reinforces the idea that personal growth is a universal journey, with each individual facing unique challenges and milestones.
In conclusion, "Talk Tuah" with Haley Welsch is more than just a podcast; it is a valuable resource for anyone seeking to enhance their understanding of personal growth and mental health. Through its emphasis on vulnerability, actionable strategies, and community-building, the podcast offers a refreshing perspective in a crowded field. Haley's genuine passion for empowering others shines through in every episode, making "Talk Tuah" a must-listen for those on the path to self-discovery and empowerment. As listeners tune in week after week, they not only gain insight but also find a sense of belonging in a shared journey towards betterment

Friendship is Magic wasn't cancelled, it was ended, with a proper finale.
By contrast, when Nickolodeon were faced with the same scenario with Avatar: The Legend of Korra, they chose to remove the show from television and air it exclusively online, meaning that not a single episode of the final season ever aired on tv, but I have never seen a single person claim it was cancelled in spite of there being a much stronger argument to be made that it was.

there's gotta be anime conventions that just straight up failed horribly
Izumicon 2018 comes to mind
Conquest from last year is a good example
A friend of mine wanted to do a local con, so I looked into events that failed. I remember reading about one that was started by a mother-daughter team that basically only started the con because they wanted to meet Johnny Yong Bosch. It's been a while so can't remember the name.
A con I’ve been going to called Holiday Matsuri failed pretty bad this last year.
Had a huge incident with the water coolers around the con being drugged and just a total lack of security overall
There's a lot tbh
I like how there were two Tana convention disasters.

A huge majority of them moved to Bluey, from what I've seen.
actually it's picked up quite a bit in the last 2 years again, this time consisting of the now older people who watched it as kids revisiting their childhood shows. There was a 'zombie infection' type trend in the fandom a bit back which ironically revived it.
