These type of guys are priceless. No amount of money could beat the quality of building it yourself. Well done. Great build. Trailer will outlive the truck most likely lol

Great job. I built a 5x8 using 2x3 tube 40 years ago. After a few years I cut the front off and added 2’. Still using it today and do not want to sell it. Build something good and it lasts for years. Heck I am 75 years old now and I built it 50 years ago not 40.

I've fixed dozens of trailers that were bought from HOME DEPOT or LOWE'S. They're mass produced. I've been welding and fabricating for over 37 years and I'll have to say you broke everything down and explained it in lamens terms that anymore will understand. Great job on the build. Great video 👍👍. Anyone who wants to know why welders charge so much to build something or repair something, now know why the price might be higher than YOU thought, I'd refer them to this video.

Very nice! I've been wanting to build a trailer, and now I know basically what's involved. When I get ready to start building, I'll probably need to come back a couple of times to get more details. Your trailer is every bit as good as one of those Lowe's trailers, and THEN some. In fact, your trailer is worth much more than a comparable "Corner Store" trailer. Thanks for the video.

Never mind Hollywood you still deserve an Oscar. One point about bearing seals. If you are not using a press to install seals smear grease inside where the garter spring is located, using a hammer can often jolt the spring off the seal and you may not be aware that it happened. Excellent and professionally explained.

Thanks alot for your video , I was able to build this in 2 days , just waiting to get it vin inspected ! I have a Lincoln 180 MiG, I had to rotate the trailer to flat position welding multiple times but other then welding in flat position it was smooth , I did have to preheat the 3" channel with a blowtorch to get it melt effectively !

great job... I'm building one for the same thing... the threaded rod for the hinge is actually better for some light duty applications... it allows lube to stay longer because of the ridges rather than a smooth surface that will allow it to just run off.... thanks for the video!!!

Awesome trailer. Much better than anything you can buy in any of the big box stores and probably for about the same cost or even less. Thanks for the free plans too! I'm gonna build your 6x10 trailer. I have a beat up 4x8 that I bought at Harbor Freight that I have to remove the stake sides on it to get a full sheet of drywall or plywood on it and the load limit on it is pretty low too. This trailer will fit my needs perfectly. Probably build 2 of them to fit different functions. Also gonna see how I can make one into an end dump.

I mount the fenders about an inch back from centre - because as the springs flatten with load the axle moves to the rear - just looks better and eliminates the possibility of the tyre rubbing on a tight fitting fender

The way I pack bearings without making a mess is I put them in a zip lock baggie with a big blob of axle grease. Seal it up and you can work the grease into the bearings without getting it everywhere.

Fabulous series! It's. been 35 years since I stick welded a utility trailer, and I had forgotten much of the detail work that I had worked through, but your very detailed series brought it all back. My last trailer was made with tubular steel, which was very rigid and steel was cheap then. It made for natural routing for wires. Has steel gotten prohibitively expensive since then? I'll be building a 14 footer for a BX Kubota tractor with a front end loader and possible 3pt accessories this time, and using MIG. Your angle steel looked rigid enough, but I will have to research load tables to see what I need. Any suggestions?
