I got my HD8 the day they came out. It updated when setting up, but I still felt it was laggy. On 7/3 I got an OS update and now it's running much better. I also downloaded Google Play and am able to get all the apps I use on my iPad. For the $40 I paid for this with a discount and trade-in its a very good tablet.
how can you did for the alexa command voice, google chromecast and audible? Do them works?

I *had* Googleplay on my FireHD8 but fricken Amazon apparently kicked it off when I got an update later...
I'd have no issue if their damn App Store was actually not USELESS!

Thanks for the tips. I get an error on some websites in Chrome when playing video. "The Media Could Not be Loaded, Either Because the Server or Network Failed or Because the Format is not supported" What setting could I change? I have the exact Kindle HD8

Wonder if you can help? Just got hd8 works great but your top re lost tablet not in my settings. Where you have it I have ..search bar....allows on or off main screen. Search for it to God's to options but nothing there. Thanks.

Yes. It resets the Kindle to the way it came when you bought it.

A. I love The Amazon Fire 8 HD Tablet. The Amazon App Store is useless.
B. To get full use of the tablet. The owner must install The Google Play Store.
C. The easy way to install The Google Play Store is use the Microsoft Windows Fire OS Toolbox.
D. TH-cam has a No. excellent video tutorials on using The Fire OS Toolbox.
