Once I got Google Play to run in this,it’s been a pretty great little device. Battery life is surprisingly still very good when using the android apps. Viewing angles are pretty bad for an IPS screen but I’m never really sharing my viewing experience with anyone so it’s okay for one person at a time lol. Not a bad little device at all for the money. I bought the amazon fire hd 8 because of your review. Yup it fits on what i need in a tablet. Feels sturdy and the screen was not that bad at all. Performance was ok at best. Great eeview byvthe way

I'm still using the HD 8 from I think 2015 or 2016, and thought it was about time for an upgrade. Got the new one on sale, plus had Amazon promo points, so extra discount, yay!! Edit: Glad you mentioned the Zoom aspect of the tablet, as I'm actually planning on using this fairly extensively for any Zoom lectures and whatnot that may happen this coming academic year. Don't really care about the video quality, but glad to know the microphone and speakers work well, because that would be a deal breaker for me, haha.
I died when you talked about PUBG! I am definitely starting to love your videos. Very well edited, you hold our attention well, I only wish there were more videos for me to watch. Do you review things like Xbox/video games? I have noticed that most of the reviews are Amazon devices, is there a reason you like Amazon over other brands like Apple? Also, do you do any Future Tech information videos, like rumors or leaks?
Hey thanks for the feedback. I like all kinds of tech including apple, video games, amazon products, etc. Tbh I feel like apple products have a ton of people covering them so me adding my voice to that is like a whisper in the wind. I love finding really useful, cheap products that aren't as covered and that has sorta become my niche over time just because those videos seem to get the most attention on my channel. I'm always interested in trying different things. Right now I'm testing a apple watch - not sure if it will become a video but we'll see. Thanks again! Awesome name btw 😄
Would you say this All New Fire HD 8 performs better than the 2017 10" Fire HD? I've had the 10" tablet struggle with a fantastic Dreamcast emulator called Redream. I'm hoping the smaller, newer tablet performs better since it would be pushing out less pixels at a smaller resolution .
I wish I could tell you that. I don't recall because it's been a long time since I used the the 10 from 2017. Maybe research benchmarks on both tablets and see how it compares
Get the Fire HD 10 2019 instead. The processor on the Fire HD 10 2019 is way more powerful than the Fire HD 8 2020, I'll tested various emulator on the latest Fire HD 10 including Redream on it and it can literally runs all the games I tested below 1080p but beyond 720p with a smooth framerate.
Great review but unwatchable due to the distracting background music which seemed more like frontground! Along with your quiet low volume voice, could not make out what you were saying, it’s a pity about the music
personally I prefer the look of the older one to the new 2020. The older one although its taller but it looks slimmer. The new one, the screen is surrounded by fat ugly bezels which makes it looking antique.
"Better than ever" is a bit misleading considering how short it falls compared to other tablets. I did enjoy the review and looking for a tablet for my 69 year old mother who loves her 5-7 year old Kindle over her newer Samsung tablet. Thanks for this.
Another moaner, it's not pixalated, why don't you spend 500 dollars and get an Apple device....fortnight needs 4 gig of ram, this has two. You are not understanding the low price.

I have the Fire HD8 7th gen. It's a decent tablet, especially if you sideload Google, so I don't think I'll upgrade until there's a HD8 with full HD.

i was looking to get this tablet, but sadly it doesnt use sim card. so its a big no for me. i would look into samsung tablets.
