I need 4 shocks so wasn’t considering the carli leveling system kit which only has front shocks. Thoughts?
1) Great video quality 2) Great camera work with cool B roll shots and cool transitions 3) Nice concise videos 4) Thanks for running "Real World" wheel/tire combos that you can actually go from stop to stop with Keep 'em coming!
I have a 2015 Dodge ram 2500 I'd love to do exactly what you did on this truck. I love the super clean look. A truck you can tell has modifications but done the right way.
Your truck looks beautiful I just wanted to say I live in Florida exactly by Deltona there are no good diesel mechanics as well as nobody to set up and help you with your truck or universals in the front four-wheel-drive are pretty shot is shaking the truck and it’s hard to find a good mechanic to fix the universal joints anyway not to complain but you are awesome thank you I’ve learned a lot
This same exact system is applicable to 2nd gens actually! First gens have less options. For those trucks your only budget friendly but significant suspension improvement option is to do a custom leaf pack with nice shocks.
Cant agree more. I have an 06’ I did a similar set up on. I also have a steering box stabilizer, read head stealing gear, and crossover steering and track bar (7/8th hiems kit from rough stuff). I just bought a ‘07 on 42’s with a huge lift probably 6” not sure on the details of the lift components just bought it last night because it was such a good deal. Do you sell anything for the 1500’s all I see if 2500/3500’s. Front tires are going to need to be replaced soon thinking of going 40’s because 42” selection sucks. Looking for something aggressive with a good life span. Any advice of either suspension or tires? Also think I need an alignment, I mostly care about good steering and ride quality as ive got kids, more of a toy than anything got a 22 tahoe RST for my reliable daily with the kids, awesome truck btw.
the old square body Chevys had a terrible ride with the 4 leaf springs and loose steering, do you guys have a system that improves the ride while lifting 4 inches
Serious question, how would this setup work with towing an RV? I have a 3rd gen diesel and it's primary purpose is towing our RV. I figured the ride quality was just how trucks drove, but I've seen a few videos now that talk about the ride quality after upgrading only the suspension on these Dodges. But will I see adverse effects (gas milage, towing capacity, tire wear, etc) from this kind of upgrade?
This particular system (and really any Carli system) can be set up with either the stock rear leaf packs for stock capacity, or one of the Carli leaf packs and airbag kits for better ride and stock capacity. Aside from cost to make it happen, there's really no downside to upgrading suspension with a proper system like these!
Sadly shocks alone won't completely address your issue as those systems as a whole aren't designed to ride well. Something like this would be a huge improvement: www.cjcoffroad.com/collections/03-09-carli-systems/products/carli-dodge-ram-2500-3500-6-back-country-2-0-suspension-system
what if i wanted to keep stock height of truck? im new to trucks I've had mustangs my whole life and only recently bought myself a 2004 dodge ram 2500 with the 8 ft bed and a leer cap. its a very clean truck only has 86k miles on it never beat on no rust. The stock ride is abysmal, and im trying to figure out ways to improve it without rebuilding the entire suspension. can you guys help me out? the truck is used to transport furniture and supplies 190 miles on highway roads from state island to southern new jersey. Goals with the build are to increase the mpg, smooth out the ride, and get new tires/wheels. it is not the diesel engine either because nj/ny state laws are strict on diesel and i didn't want to deal with that. its the updated late model 04 5.7L v8 with the 365 hp.
I have a 3rd Gen 3/4 ton and need to replace the existing 35x12.5 VorTrac tires. They will not balance and requires more weights than reasonable. Plus the side walls show dry rot cracking in only a few years of service. I might consider the 37s, but I already have issues with tire scrub on lower control arms during turns. 37s will be worse. How does the Carli control arms avoid this scrubbing with 37s? And does your tires, as shown, balance reasonably well without needing to add balance bead bags? Thanks.
Wheel specs are key to rubbing the arms. To fit 37s on a Ram you need a 8.5-9” wide wheel with +18 to +25 offset. To make that work these arms also have a fabricated notch to offer more tire clearance at full lock. With a quality tire like Toyo, Nitto, BFG etc you should only use a few ounces of weight! These balanced great.
I have a 3rd gen. 2005 3500 Quad Cab SRW with the SWB. I tow a camper with it. Would like to upgrade suspension for better ride but keep the towing capacity. What would you recommend?
This system should do the trick! To maintain full tow capacity you can keep your factory leaf springs, or do this add a pack system and remove the overload on your pack. If the camper has extremely heavy tongue weight, you can also do a Firestone bag and daystar cradle system.
We use SKF or Timken for factory style, and then Yukon and Dynatrac if you want to upgrade to free spins. All of these systems can handle towing quite well and we offer load supplementation options for them as well.
I have an 04 did a level kit on it rough country springs rancho 9000 adjustable shocks carli adjustable track bar and apoc industries adjustable control arms. Rides like crap lol. Do u think changing the coils to carli will make a difference and can I still use my rancho shocks or should I order the carli shocks with the coils

@@CJCOffRoad I apologize, I should have mentioned 35s. My truck is a family vehicle as well so I'm not looking for anything bigger than that. I really was looking for a system with good driving characteristics and more clearance for larger tires with a tad wider stance. This sounds like it fits the bill. Thank you for the response!
Hey man, I love the channel. I am looking at BDS but found your and I'm wondering if you could give a comparison on some difference so I can make the right decision?
BDS is a lift kit company, so their goal is height increase. With their systems you’ll see ride quality similar to or worse than stock depending on the height. Carli is a suspension system company, so you’ll see massively improved ride, but less lift height options than brands like BDS that are made to achieve X or Y desired height for looks.
Well shit guys you just keep making me spend my money 🤣this will be the next thing going on my truck. Just gota figure out the back spacing on my rims.
These trucks have a few built in skid plates, but we typically don’t run anything on them aside from sliders if absolutely necessary for hard trail use.
Nice, looks like more than a 3 inch lift, what plastic exactly had to be trimmed for the 37's, with these wheels having a +25 offset would an 18 need any trimming at all?
Just a small bit of the bottom cab side of the plastic fender liner up front. As long as you meet the offset and width specs you’re good to go on trimming!
When it comes to 37s you need to go off the actually capacity of the tire and not the letter rating, since many are D rated but with E load range capacities. There's lots of options that are rated for at least 3,500 pounds per tire.
I appreciate it thanks. Ride quality improvement going to 37/17s from 35/17s? And what psi would you recommend daily driving on 37s(not towing). @@CJCOffRoad

I appreciate it thanks. Ride quality improvement going to 37/17s from 35/17s? And what psi would you recommend daily driving on 37s(not towing). @@CJCOffRoad
Which Swag bar option did y’all use?
Does +18-25 on 9 inch wide wheels apply for 35's?
You can get away with 0 offset and 35s!

We’re on pins and needs waiting for parts! The current shortages aren’t making things easy!
Does your body guy like doing rust repair? LOL The midwest salt hasn't treated my '06 MegaCab very well.
