    Couldn’t have said it better. Well put, Mr. Wilson.
    In basic detailing, I offer two packages…interior and exterior. lol After a quick conversation with the client and a quick look at the vehicle, I know exactly what the car needs & doesn’t need, and I know exactly what the client wants & doesn’t want. Those slight changes get made in my head. Then, when I actually start the job, auto-pilot kicks in, my system takes place, and the rest is history. Another job paid for, another good review, and it’s on to the next one.

    •  ปีที่แล้ว

      So you don't quote before you see the car?

    • @thebrasstack6523

      @ If it’s a new client or a vehicle that I’ve never done before, I get the year, make, model, & color of the vehicle. That gives me a baseline ballpark pricing range. Then, if I can’t see the vehicle in person, I ask the client to send me a few photos of the interior & exterior in its current condition. Those visuals give me a better idea of where to put the dart in that original pricing range. But even then, I still don’t give the client an exact price. I give them a ballpark range of between 50 to $100 each way of that dart. That still gives the client the anchor that they need, but also gives me a little wiggle room incase I have to spend a little extra time on the job. Once the job is finished and I know how much time I had in the job, I give them a final exact total before they come pick it up.

    Here's an idea for a video. Show us how you clean up after wash, polish & ceramic coat. What do you do with your towels & applicators? Do you throw them away or put in a bucket or buckets with rinseless wash, incredible suds, all clean or a combination of, to soak before you throw them in the washing machine?

  • @ooohandstuff
    @ooohandstuff ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I have two packages. Basic and Deluxe for both interior and exterior. It keeps things simple. The customer knows right away what package fits them because I send them a list of what's included in both. Then I just ask about the size of there vehicle to give them a estimate. I also ask for a few pics sometimes if they need a more precise quote because an estimate can look like $220-$315. By the way! It's been fun in FL the last few days. lol

    Man, I’ve loved being apart of the community and doing the courses you offered. I’m at the point where I’m 6 details in, and trying to setup my social media and website. And thinking about how long these details took me, where I spent too much time etc, and how to price and package them.. I literally did 3 of the 6 details today, and was thinking about this as I’m at home now.. and boom this video shows up. Thanks Luke! I so appreciate the content. Bless you bro

    I’m currently making packages for my detailing business right now, this video could not have come at a better time. Just subscribed bro, you know what you’re doing 🔥

    • @Ichabod_Jericho
      @Ichabod_Jericho ปีที่แล้ว +3

      One thing that helped me brother, I don’t spray & scrub & wipe or steam unless it’s a full interior cleaning for $200. Anything other than full interior cleaning gets an ONR dusting on all surfaces NOT USING A BRUSH, a towel & a spray bottle that’s it. An interior should take 45 minutes max, including vacuum. Anything more than that you need to explain to customer & charge for! Interiors is where you’ll lose most profitability.

    • @OscarVius
      @OscarVius ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Ichabod_Jericho I might try this out bro. I honestly take a long time on trying to make interiors look close to perfect on something like a basic wash. I need to get better at matching the quality to the cost of the work.
      When you clean the interiors like this do you typically still get a good result? I feel like this may leave certain customers dissatisfied because the interior isn’t atleast getting a light scrub.
      I’d like to know what you think. Thank you.

    • @Ichabod_Jericho
      @Ichabod_Jericho ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@OscarVius I struggled with the same thing! Like he mentions, getting more leads will make you overdeliver less often. I get great results on my ONR interiors; you will too! cause it’s enough to get food & soda spills, all fingerprints & dust easily even in direct sunlight in summertime. The best thing about it is the safety, I’ve ruined a couple hot plastics with solvent based APC before 🤷‍♂️ never gonna happen with ONR.
      Just use fresh towels, not old ones! Only ones that have been washed 4-5 times max. After 4-5 wash & dry cycles the towels start to loose their ability to pick up fine dust and loads of cleaning solution.
      Best of luck! Anything that needs more than ONR should be charged for, make a playlist that lasts an hour and stop when it’s done!

    • @OscarVius
      @OscarVius ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Ichabod_Jericho Sorry I’m replying so late to this but man thank you for the advice. It’s really going to help me out a lot and allow me to move quicker. Thank you. 🙏🏽 I’m assuming ONR is Optimum No Rinse. Overall, thank you for the advice, it really goes a long way!

    Makes sense. I do think one of the best things you can have as a detailer is a website with an algorithm that can essentially take yes or no or one through 10 answers and develop a package based on that.
    Accounting for how much each of these services individually costs the increase or decrease for vehicle size and any coupons or discounts this customer gets.

    Hey this makes sense. What do you mean by always get them to buy above the base package? In here you refer to minimizing package. Offer good add ons? or Offer lower packages so people buy package add ons?

    I’ve never understood the different levels of packages. I offer interior detail, exterior detail or full detail. Make it simple and that way you don’t have to remember what services your supposed to do. I won’t skimp on an interior detail. You want it all clean or you don’t want it at all. Keep it simple and don’t compromise your work. I don’t want my name attached to something done half way. Just my thinking.

    •  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm just curious, do you then adjust the pricing according to the complexity of the job? Like a pretty decent car with clean seats VS a very dirty one?

      @I adjust. Some, not many, are very clean interiors. I just had one today with a 1 step paint correction. The interior was clean. A few crumbs. I still went over everything but it took me 1/3 the time it usually takes. I cut the interior price in half. If it was dirty and I got finished quick I wouldnt have cut the price because the results would have been there. Today, there were no results - but the customer knew ( and wanted) everything gone over. The paint correction was a breeze too.

    Greta video. To keep from over delivering or even worse under delivering compared to the customer’s expectations I will create a service that would meet my expectations if I was the customer and then price accordingly. If I’m wanting a shampoo/extraction my expectations are a refresh if not reset otherwise I’ll just go with the spot cleaning light stains with a cleaner type of service. you have the conversation about what is involved, communicating the value after giving the "sticker price shock". Sometimes the amount of value doesn’t matter and at that point the conversation is done and you move on. On the other hand I usually ask them if they would like me to tell them what’s involved/included and they are happy to schedule. We have to dictate at a certain level just like Chick-fil-A. We offer chicken but if you want beef then you know to go somewhere else.

    I always see what detailers around my area are offering and they always have like “basic, deluxe and diamond” options for interior and same thing for exterior and same thing for full packages and I’m like what’s the difference 😭 the difference is the quality of work from a “basic, deluxe and diamond” selection. Doesn’t make sense though. The analogy this man gave of “how long do you want us to cook your chicken” and “what buns do you want us to put your pickles on” are a great example.

    you really basically just touched the idea without giving any comparisons. you say its better to keep it basic....but how do you avoid the situation where car A and car B both say its not that dirty and just needs an interior cleaning. you find out one vehicle is trashed with puke and dog hair throughout. the other has an owner that has taken fair care of their vehicle but its dirty to them. both cars need interior cleaning. one needs a deep cleaning and didn't know the other needs a basic cleaning but didn't know....and under your suggestion you've only got an interior cleaning package. how do you use what you're suggesting and not end up working for free on most vehicles. after all lets be honest, far more customers will say its not bad compared to those saying its horrible. i do see flaws in my pricing system, hence why im watching this video to get some ideas....but this video didn't have any ideas, barely a vague suggestion. the comparison to chik-fil-A makes sense, if you have something to compare it to. wanna help me understand this in a few more ways?

      i agree. yes it was ok to compare to a successful fast food chain....but you can't compare apples to oranges, and then just talk about the oranges when everyones here for the muhfookin apples info. from what i gather he is suggesting only having interior, exterior and full service? that is a bag of problems waiting to happen without the rest of the equation. Only having those options leaves you wide open for better or worse jobs paying the same amount (free work). He has to have more than he is explaining because i managed a company the did inside, outside, full service, or add shampoo....it was an absolute gong show. you never knew what you were walking into, customers hate hearing the price go up, and you end up working for free a lot. I don't see how a light and deep cleaning option is not nessecary. i was hoping to find a better way of laying it out, but to kibosh it all together seems like something id need to understand more before doing....hope he sees my comments and helps me understand better!
