220cm Bechstein (1900), Maurice Ravel: "Le Gibet"

"Le Gibet " (The Gallow) from Maurice Ravel's three part cycle "Gaspard de la Nuit".
Played on a recently restored (not repaired, refurbished or rebuilt) Bechstein Model IV (220cm) after some long sessions of voicing the new hammers and regulationg it to perfection.
I am privilege to have a true concert technician taking care of my pianos and he really is someone who can sprinkle magic fairy dust into a piano.
This piece is a perfect example of using the left una corda pedal not only to make the piano play softer, but also give it a new quality in sound. Enjoy. (And ignore some of the mishaps in me playing the piece. Haven't played it for a while and it's bloody difficult...
Recorded with a pair of Rode NT5 cardioids in NOS-configuration and a tiny pair of omni capsules added for ambience; no digital postprocessing.
