Dear Colin, thank you so much for the beautiful video! As always it is a pleasure to see you. I love Ireland and I am so looking forward to visiting Cork again, where I worked for a month. Sending warm greetings from the Czech Republic! Cheers, Ondřej.
Dame that’s hot. Haha appreciate that. After this I went to nearby cafe for lunch and honestly my hands took a few hours to actually recover. What state in oz are you? Did your 35 arrive?
Duuude, you saw a 'Squatch!! Haha, always a pleasure to see a good fence pic. The soft-box light was excellent. Personally, I'm a fan of Leica bodies in the cold. Multiple frost nips have left my hands hopeless in cold conditions, but I can use an M with thicker gloves than I can a DSLR/mirrorless. And now, that beanie - I know since moving to Leica that one is mandatory and fortunately I have a fine selection (an advantage of sheep farming), but Mrs H looked over my shoulder and was was very complementary of yours. Praise indeed. And I succumbed, I got the MP... Oh man.
Hahaha you got the MP? Nice!! Which version? Days like that’s it’s just nice to get out with a camera. It took me a few hours to thaw out. I need a video camera that doesn’t require gloves off for next winter 🤣 I am a huge fan of wool. All my hats are hand knit 🧶 and they’re the best 🙏 one of life’s pleasures.
Hehheh - it looked a raw one! We've been missing the snow in Northumberland this year, but my daughter in Belfast caught some the other week in the Mournes. I went for the black MP - hopefully it will wear with more grace than me over the next 20 (🤞!) years. A lovely thing. Only misloaded one film so far...haha, a wee bit different to an SLR! But such a joy to shoot - almost ready to let the Nikons go. And wool... its the greatest, though sadly less than worthless for a farmer (it costs me for every sheep sheared). But we used to keep some pet Jacobs and Herdwicks for their wool and have a fine beanie to thank them for! Cheers @@colinosullivan
@@jameshoward9700 yes that’s snow your daughter had is probably the same week i shot this. A week and half ago. The MP is a camera for life. Gorgeous and the black will brace similar to that of my m8 black paint. Lovely. It’s a camera I’ve been interested in for a decade now! Sometime mate ;)
Excellent presentation! Well done. Even though I'm not to keen on cold weather and snow, I have fondness for fence lines in the snow. Loved the photograph at 6:25. Although, I wish you could have caught the 'Spirt in the Snow'.
Thanks mate. I will have to jump over to your channel now to get my monochrome fill for the week :) Honestly it was bitterly cold. The cold here is VERY different to dry cold. after a very wet winter the damp cold really goes through you so at one point I think it was time to leave the mountain! :) Which I did. I will have to catch the spirit another time mate.
Shooting during winter is fun. Here in Montreal, spring is about to be in front of us, as the winter this year was almost not that present. Cool scene from your video. Thanks for sharing Mate stay safe!
Mate you’d be the pro for shooting in cold winters. This winter here was Irelands wettest in decades making it hard to get out really but we just got on with it. Oddly our cold snaps have got later in winter even into spring in the last few years!! 📷
Thanks John. I appreciate that. I am planning to shoot the area up there for 5 years and then I’ll review my collection. I’m glad I got a snow day up there. Where you based John?
@@quite1enough you get plenty snow there mate? Whenever we have snow I love to shoot. As it’s rare. It’s usually just wind and cold Atlantic rain like right now outside the window haha
@@colinosullivan it depends, winters here aren't like it used be, but we had plenty of snow this year but I wasn't able to go outside much due to the health issues :c Overall St Petersburg is quite rainy too ^^
It doesn't snow often here where I live, when it does snow it tends to be very wet and windy kind of snowy conditions. Last time it did snow, I debated whether to take my M9, I was a bit unsure if it could handle the messy, wet snow so I took another camera which got totally soaked even with me using an umbrella, though no damage. What do you think Colin? Would you try a digital M in that situation? Nice to see you were in good spirits here! (pun intended :)).
Good spirits hahahaha Royal company! Well wet snow I do shoot but I only take the camera out of my water proof billingham as and when needed. I also wipe off the camera before I put it back into the bag. They’re not sealed and it’s be a shame to ruin a good m9. 🫣 I didn’t think we’d get snow at the end of winter but now they’re saying more next week in high ground! 🙏 have you been taking photos this week mate?
Sometimes It’s the Sony a7s but I’m this case it’s the iPhone pro! I think audio is more important than the video and so I have a zoom h1n with a wired mic and a wind cover and I sync those later with the iPhone footage!!
Oh really? Touch screen modes? I can use my gloves with mine but it was my video cameras function that meant I’d my gloves on and off. And I can tell you it took hours for my hands to recover! Deadly
@@wilfredshum3703 I have a lined leather pair and they’re thin enough I can feel what I’m doing and the leather is very grippy naturally on the metal body. Worth a try for you maybe.

Crazy! This video is better than air conditioning - it’s been mid 30s here for the last few days…
Gorgeous images!✌️🇦🇺

Aye, a moment of madness on the credit card! I'm kidding myself the (yet to be actioned!) sale of my Nikons will cover it. Surely...😉!@@colinosullivan
Colin I loved this video. Some great images and some wonderful video of the area. It was great to have a ghost follow you around, lol.

You definitely have 🤣🤔 hahaha. Maybe not looking like this mate.
If I recall, the "ghostly person in the viewfinder" was a rather expensive add-on that Leica charged a lot of money for...
Quite possibly 🤣 hahahaha I think at that stage possibly the freezing temps had me imagining it!
