    1/4 tsp salt
    3 tbsp butter (45g)

    Preparation:
    Place a piece of butter in a freezer for 15 minutes.
    In a mixing bowl, add the dry ingredients, ground oats, spelt flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda and salt, mix to combine.
    Grate your cold butter using a box grater over the dry mixture, gently stir with a wooden spoon.
    Add the blueberries and toss to combine.

    Made skones for the first time in my life using this recipe and now I'm wondering why I never tried them earlier. I put mix of wholewheat and flaxseed flour instead of spelt flour and replaced Greek yogurt with some kefir. Even with all the adjustments the result turned out really good! For everyone else who can't get some if the ingridients like me - don't be afraid to adjust the recipe to meet your needs😊. Thank you, Dr. Oats! I love oats too and your channel is a real treasury of simple and healthy recipes!

    Thank you so much for this!! I halved all the ingredients and made 6 scones. Also replaced spelt flour with more oat flour and added an extra 1/2 tbsp cornstarch. I used frozen blueberries and it came out perfect I just kept the blueberries frozen until it was time to add them in so it didn’t turn the dough blue. 😁

    Made these! Delicious, great spongy texture (crumb). Ground my own oat flour and used whole wheat pastry flour instead of spelt. Took them on a camping trip for several days. Will be my go-to scone recipe from now on. My previous favorite uses lots of heavy whipping cream and sugar (no butter), and your recipe is tastier, healthier, and lower calories. Hvala!

    Young man, these look delicious. I will add the recipe to my list of "goodies" to make. I don't bake much anymore but when I do I like to make something that will be special. Kinda like chocolate, if I'm going to eat it it's going to be the good stuff! lol. I've watched this video several times then took a break and looked through your other videos. Seems like I'll be getting some really good items to add to my "gotta try this" file. I love the detail you give and yet you do it so quickly and easily understood instructions and options. I have a little bit of oat flour left over that I purchased to make healthy dog treats for my fur grandbabies. It was quite expensive, but it appears from your video that I can throw oats into a blender and mill my own flour? Just have to buy some spelt flour now; I have all the other ingredients to make these! I love scones! Thx for sharing your recipe. 👩‍🦳😋 Olympia, Washington, USA

      Hi Jody! Yes, you can blend any regular oats, I do all the time. Sending hugs to Olympia!

    Didn’t have blueberries 😞 so instead I grated sweet potato, and added cinnamon, nutmeg, maple syrup, and vanilla. I’ll check back in and tell you how they came out!!

    • @jtgirl7
      @jtgirl7 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Okay update: I only added 2 tbsp of maple syrup because I thought the scones might be too sweet because of the sweet potato. I was wrong, but these still taste really good perfect for breakfast.

      Wow, what a lovely idea with adding the sweet potatoes in these scones. Glad you enjoyed the taste. And you're right, less sweet scones are just perfect for breafkast. Thanks for your feedback!
