Great video as always, Big Mek! If you're looking for a kitbash base to make feral or Snakebite Meganobz, I recommend Orruk Brutes - five beefy armoured greenskinz on 40mm bases who come in a box for a little cheaper than three Meganobz, whose proportions match 40K Nobz and Meganobz really well. Most common conversion I've seen (and done myself) is to replace the blades of their weapons with saws and run them as twin killsaw Meganobz. Five of them with twin killsawz is just enough to stick in a Trukk with a Warboss in Mega Armour and smash stuff up!
I appreciate the terminator suggestion for the cost savings aspect. The thought of orks wearing terminator armor makes me think of the Krorks who wielded highly sophisticated wargear. It also reminds me of the Hammer and Bolter episode Double or Nothing, where the stormcast Hamilcar wagered sigmarite armor in a bet against some orruks.
great video! my Meganobs are half GW (5) , half kit bashed from Gear guts (6). got a Big Mek in mega armour and Warboss in mega armour. cant wait to turn them loose in game. your doing a great job!! well done!
The brokhyr thunderkin for the Votann make awesome proxy models for meganobs and really any orks in mega armor. They are just large enough to be at the height of the old meganobs and are suprisingly easy to include an ork into their power suits. Also another whacky conversion proxy is the old centurion suits from the Space Marines. They are pretty bulky and are even tall enough to use as proxy conversions for megabosses as well. Great video!
Sweet! this was awesome! Totally going Terminators for my little squad. Sizing is so hard to figure out as a new player. This stuff is really helpful for a new kitbasher.
It was a big help! My Levaithan kit gave me termies that I don't want for my Blood Angels army so I'm either going to consider that. Also had a Tau commander from a decade ago that I wanted to convert but the legs were too weedy. But now I might try it...
That's the plan! Picking out a cool helmet to turn my commander suit into a big mek in mega armor. Hot tip: if you can get the Nobz from old warhammer fantasy it is AMAZING for spare bits and unique 'eavy armored nobz.
just started Ork army an after you mention the rules for tournament thinking on taking any extra's arms/heads and just use green stuff to make the rest of the model. from what I've seen most of their armor are blocks.
Not a 40k kit, but I plan to KB the Blood Bowl Thunder Valley Greenskins. For 42 bitz you get 6 thicc bois that you can slap any manner of destruction on. In addition.. The 6 gobbinz can either add to the grot line or be a full wound counter for a mek gun.
i used a free primaris intercessor you get when going in store to create a big mek in mega armour :D a little short but he looks cool. also meganobss are my fav ork thing ever
As far as warboss sized boiz goes da old metal dreadnoughts can work. So I guess my real question is what is one kit that can supply a bunch of engine gubbins for the backs of all these terminators etc? Bonus if it can help with all them Orky weapons. Maybe the Goliath bikers?
Mega armor is boxy why not just take the spare nob heads and arms that any nob kit comes with and scratch build a body from plasticard?(or any HIPS styrene you have around the house like bread tags, and disposable cutlery/plates/solocups, basically if it solvent welds its robust loot!)
So I had this video come up because I was wondering if it would be possible to kitbash the warboss in mega armor to a big mek in mega armor I think the rules for him as leader is better than the warboss and I have warboss and just got a box of meganobz so I was wondering if that is possibility but as showed with size it doesn't seem like possibility
Great question! You absolutely can convert the Warboss in Mega Armor into a Big Mek in Mega Armor, the main issue is the base size is smaller on the Big Mek. I would leave the grot and shoota off, and swap out the arms so you have a KMB and a Power Klaw.
Well also third parties..LIke Kormlech with their juggernaught or Wargames Crew has Orck Big Diwaaaghs on stock... Which are meganobz...They look slightly differently and there is no option to build Big mek. You get all weapon options and easy to swap between weapons. But as they are from Europe...
@@DaRedWunzGoFasta Ou what a shame that in my country are no official tournaments :D. For me it is on TO. Typicaly it is like give me picture... nice paint? size and base ok? you can use it
If you're trying to save money then you're better off avoiding kromlech entirely, they're much more expensive than GW. If I'm spending *more* money I'd at least want them to be fully legal lol
@@jacket2848 Yeh :D they are pretty expensive now. Basicaly only option when to buy them is when they have 30% discount. Currently I use them mostly for legs... But If you take for example grot tanks only advantage you get with Kromlech is that for each tank you get all weapon options...

I use the Brutes and just add some cables and extra armor panels

Centurions are an expensive kit though 😅
@jacket2848 well true! Bur three do come to a box which could translate to three orks in mega armor
Would be a great series to go look at kits and talk about easy kitbash/proxies. Especially vehicles!!!
You got it!!
nice one, I like the whole idea of this kind of video. I had a meganob mob in 2nd ed, they were proper tanky :)
I have a bunch of orks which I've kitbashed from grey knight paladins. I made them a bit bigger/taller which helps a bit on those older sculpts.
Doing more kitbash videos would be great for us young war-bosses.
You got it! Stay tuned

Waaaaaghsome!
Old Big Mek bringing Da Waaaagh Knowledgez for Da Boyz!

I've been using the new Ard' Boyz as Mega nobz

Couldn’t get SM terminator at my lgs so going to try CSM terminators. Thinking with all the skulls and spikes, it could turn out pretty cool.

@@DaRedWunzGoFasta i was already on it ASAP, the moment i got home with it i kitbashed a big mek in mega armour >:D

Orruk Brutes with spares from Nob arms and klaws?

Mega knob kits stink to build too. The directions are hard to follow
That's true!
What did you find hard to follow? Personally I feel like they're incredibly easy, and you don't even need to glue weapons on.
