1 cup [240 ml] vegetable oil
1 cup [200 grams] brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon powder
2 tsp baking powder
2 cups [256 grams] all purpose flour
2 cups [250 grams] shredded carrots

1/2 cup [60 grams] walnuts
1/2 cup [80 grams] chocolate chips

Thank you very much for your recipe, the cake is incredibly delicious, also very easy to make. I added raisins instead of chocolate chips and I also made two additions, which in my opinion, lifted your recipe even higher! I added orange zest to the batter and I also added vanilla extract to the frosting (I also added a bit more sugar to it).
I made this cake without chocolate chips but added raisins. The cake was yummy and moist. This is recipe to keep. Thank you so much. My family loved this cake.
What a coincidence! The third time I decided to do the same because I didn't like the combination between carrots and chocolate. I find that the taste of chocolate is too strong. I made the cake with raisins in place of chocolate chips because I don't like the combination between carrots and chocolate. I find that the taste of chocolate is too strong and this makes difficult to enjoy the taste of the carrots and the other ingredients. I used also less oil, sugar and salt in order to get a healthier cake.
Will it result in a dry cake with lesser oil? Did you replace it with milk or any liquid?
Omit the chocolate chips and add crushed pineapple and sweetened coconut and you've got a winner.

Similar to mine but I don’t use choc bits, and I add a couple of squeezes of lemon juice to the frosting.

Yes, I think I will leave out the chocolate. I love chocolate, but love carrot cake without it. I’m curious how it would be with it, but it’s hard to make carrot cake more delicious.

I bet you could replace the sugars with Stevia sugars and have a no sugar recipe. And the cake itself doesn't necessarily have to have more sweet frosting on top.

i tried this just now.. i used almonds instead of walnuts so my 2 year old can eat it :) and skipped na choco chips as i do not want it to be so sweet and it turned out really good.. thanks for the recipe..BTW, i used turbo since i do not have oven :)

Hi i made this for our Eid celebration and it was a big hit😊. Thank you for the recipe. I thought it’s going to be too sweet but it was just sufficiently sweet. Will bake again. I just used raisin and almond because the walnut for decoration was burnt in the oven 😂
