Would you recommend the falcors or the atlas bindings for the mega? I believe they are about the same stiffness, but what are the advantages/disadvantages of the standard disk of the atlas vs the mini disk of the falcor?
I " think" the entire crew was unanimous on the love for the ATLAS - A little less flex from the base plate ( likely due to the standard disk) makes is so responsive - stay tuned for a full review on Both Union Bindings closer to August!
I got the union falcors on my mega mercury and also got my now select pro bindings with skate tech I noticed my select now where less aggressive than the falcors I honestly like my now's better cause the skate tech helps a lot InThe long run for foot fatigue
Which would be a better binding for the board? The Burton Malavita or Cartel X?
Any thoughts on this compared to the regular Mercury?
Had Lib Ejack Knife 157 with Rome Katana last season to carve the groomers. A tad unstable on the high speed downs maybe due to its size (I’m. 178cm). Now considering the MegaMerc 159 with Union Atlas. How does this sound?
Sounds like you are on top of it - the 59 will be "mega" stable and the atlas is a shop favourite here!!
How would you compare it for speed stability to the Jones ultra mountain twin? While I would use this board in my quiver as park/all mountain, I am an extremely aggressive rider regularly at speeds in excess of 70 mph. Will it handle those speeds without the chatter? Lastly, rider preference was definitely atlas over the falcor?
Tough call , as I have not ridden the jones "ultra" version. I'm not sure of your height and body mass , but this board rode incredibly smooth, damp and had confident grip ! If you are 6' tall & 200lbs I would assume she'd be a spec too soft for riding at such aggressive speeds. Most boards are actually. I'm 5'8" 185lbs , and ride pretty aggressively, and the board accepted everything I threw at it.

Which binding would fit better to the mega merc. The Union Strata or the Rome Cleaver? Seems like you guys used the Union Falcor, did you also try other bindings on it?
We tested these with Unions and Burton Bindings - both of which we always recommend - specifically the Union Atlas was a favorite in this session!
We would say the Strata as the 2 companies design together! Always the best option!
How would you compare this to the Mercury, thoughts? I saw the Mercury is a bit softer, lively, and Mega is even more of a charger.

We found the biggest difference is in the torsional response - The Mega responds immediately to input , where as the Standard is a little more surfy in its response. This translates to stiffness in the tail and if you are a heavier rider ( or more aggressive) we often recommend the MEGA!
@@tributeboardshop Thank you! So the regular Mercury is more forgiving and more suited for the less aggressive (slightly lighter) riders and maybe more catered to "lower level of intermediate" vs the Mega which likely sounds like a Solid Intermediate level and up?
@@dpj9421 we wouldn't say a ' lower level' rider but defiantly someone looking for a more playful feel - a couple of our freestyle guys prefer the Standard and they ride at a very high level! Hope that helps !

Amazingly damp and stable. It surprised my for a board so light !

Why is the ref stance somwide on the 159…23.4 inches….I have to pull in bindings in the closest inserts to get 22” on the 159.
would someone with a size 13 boot be able to ride this? I dont see they offer any wide versions...
Hi Matts - sorry for the late reply on this - we feel 13 is pushing it man , you will need to go with a wider model - 26.6 +
I weigh about 86 to 87 kg with all my gear on size 10.5 us boots and I'm 175cm tall ... what size would you put me on for this? Advanced intermediate maybe just freeride all mountain and small medium jumps and side hits . Already have many park and pow boards .... torn between the 157 and 159 ? Would the 159 be too much ? I do have an endeavor archetype in 162 and nitro cannon 173 ... but they are alot of board at times

Hi, I weigh about 73kg and am about 5”10. I have been riding a ride society 160 which is now about 12 years old so time for a new
Board. I’m thinking I might be better suited for a smaller board??.. I ride a bit of everything from powder to groomed trails and park and and not sure if I should go 159 or 157. Anyone got any thoughts or guidance they could give me?
Your height and weight puts you easily on either of these two sizes. Foot size , how aggressive you ride, the type of terrain you frequent etc are likely the deciding factors. When in doubt, buy them both !

Capita BSOD
K2 Alchemist
I am an expert rider with the following riding styles:
- bomb down groomer going at high speeds (very rarely paired with a little indie grab or so)
- carve deep in mid to big turns at high speeds
- when conditions allow go off piste in powder, or off piste besides groomer inbetween treues/through wood
(very rarely doing little tricks, 180’s and switches); but finally it must be considered that these perfect pow days become more and more rare -> then it’s left to bombing groomers
- After half day riding groomers and piste usually get messy and bumpy so the Board should handle crud and chunder like a charm.
Do you have any final advise?

Do you think the 157 can accommodate Ride size 11 boots without too much heal or toe drag? I see Capita is not offering the Mega Merc in wides.
HI ! Its possible with an angle adjustment on your back foot - however we do not have experience with RIDE's out-sole measurements so cant say diffidently!

Dirty Hands By the Automation - most of the music is done in studio at the Lounge by Shane and a few of the bands he is in ! ( That track will be on their upcoming album)

Absolutely! Be sure your front foot is over 12 degrees and all should be good!

@@therevverie7844 I got the 157, used it about 20 days this season mostly in spring conditions but had a one winter powder day on it. Thing is a beast. Love it. Probably could go 59 but 57 was great. Similar to my asymulator I reckon
How does it compare to Super DOA?
We hope to do an In depth Comparison this coming season! We feel the Merc is a little more suited to big mountain riding but both are extremely versatile all mountain machines!
@@tributeboardshop I have a 2021 SDOA and 2021 mercury. Feels like SDOA is less stable on regular runs, but more pop on park.

How can you not talk about the flex ? And compare the flex to normal mercury?
Extemely similar in an overal flex. the Mercury is a spec stiffer under each insert pack. The Mega Merc makes up for that with a bit more for and aft of each binding.

that's the question everyone is asking - Merc is the stiffer of the two so that's usually the deciding factor!
Is the Tribute Boardshop Team and/or Mark F. / Shane J. ; more excited or stoked about riding this Capita Mega Merc ; Capita BSOD ; Jones Stratos or (Ultra) Flagship ; Yes. PYL ; Lib Tech Jamie Lynn or TRS ; K2 Instrument or Manifest Team ; or Korua Shapes Otto??? :) (for (Eastern)/not much snow Resorts' snowboarding)... which one offers the best carving grip(s) confidence, AND that still retains a very acceptable amount of playfulness for fooling around the side pistes, old school grabs and little 180/360's ... / camber poppy attitude (I'm 5'8'' and 185-190 lbs) ; and just the best smile in the face all-around really :) ? Any other honorable mentions? (wider than 25,6 waist or accommodating 11.5 US boots)... OR : (optional other question) : Is the 200$ diff. between Korua Shapes Otto and Capita Mega Merc justifiable)? Thank you so much, can't wait for your next ''high quality level'' reviews...

Would you recommend this for someone who is relatively new, about 10 days on the mountain, picks this up relatively fast. Can link turns, does Blues regularly now and is looking to snowboard much more per year now that the family is hooked?
I will go this intermediate board instead of this one. If I were you.
The regulary merc it's better I guess for you. The is a beast. I loved it very much
