The Black Snowboard of Death has been one of the best investments I've made this snowboarding season. Standing at 6'3" and weighing in at 197 lbs, I went for the 161W size, and it's been a game-changer for me. I used to ride a 163, but the 161W gives me a ton of maneuverability and versatility. If a 163W was an option, I'd probably go for that, but this smaller setup has its own set of advantages. Now let's talk about this board's performance. Holy cow, this board is a beast! It pops like crazy and rides with a level of dynamism that's second to none. I found that when I set my stance back, I was able to unleash the full power of this board, and man, it was a wild ride. At first, I wasn't a fan of the reference stance because it felt like I was falling forward, but once I set it back, it was a whole different story. This board absolutely slays in the powder, and on groomers. I paired this board with Union Atlas Pro bindings (L) and K2 Orton boots (11.5), and let me tell you, this setup is a powerhouse. It's stiff, but that's what makes it so incredible. Whether I'm carving down the mountain or hitting jumps, this setup can handle anything I throw at it with ease. And after spending some time on the mountain, I gained a ton of confidence. I was hitting 20-foot cliff jumps and landing like a pro in choppy snow. It's crazy how quickly one can adapt to this high-performance setup, and I can say with certainty that it's taken my snowboarding to the next level. But here's the thing, the Black Snowboard of Death doesn't like to take it slow. It shines at high speeds, but I've also done slower laps with my girlfriend, and it still performs well, just not as well as when it's really flying. In conclusion, if you're an experienced snowboarder looking for a board that can handle anything and give you an unforgettable ride, the Black Snowboard of Death is the way to go. Its pop, stiffness, and high-speed performance make it a no-brainer for anyone looking to take their snowboarding to new heights. Just one thing to keep in mind, if you're someone who likes to hit the moguls, this board might not be the best choice for you. But if you're looking to push your limits, the Black Snowboard of Death is the way to go! Edit: This is me riding it at solitude th-cam.com/users/shortsrI6WyDmzWOw?feature=share
Sick. I think I’m gonna grab one. I have Orton boots too love em. Size 11. I’m only 160lbs though so I’m debating between the 159 or 162. Normally like wides but feel like the 161W might be a lot for my weight, what do you think?
Couldn’t wait - just ordered using your EVO link. Been riding a Unity Pride that I picked up while living in Summit County in 2005. Thanks for all of your reviews…been super helpful!
I got this board and absolutely love it! It's so fast and aggressive. I got it before I watched your review. I just saw it online and thought that's the board for me. Afterwards I found your video and liked everything you had to say. Keep up the good work. I can't wait to see what they do next year with it. Been riding it here in Oregon every chance I get.
Review is spot on. Picked up an early release and got a couple days in at hood. The torsional flex is super accessible. High speed carving and jumping from edge to edge is next level on this deck. I have a 20/21 model and would say the initial flex is comparable. In all fairness I did man handle it in the garage to help loosen it up a bit before riding. I think 10-15 days on the hill and it’ll settle into a sweet flex. I am 6’5 220lbs size 14 boot. Very much recommend this for bigger riders. Capita nails it. To have a 165 with a 27cm waist width and be super light is amazing. I’m already considering buying a second one in case they stiffen it up again.
Is at home flexing a thing for breaking in boards? I've never heard of this before, but if it can safely take time off the break in process, I'm all for it.
@@nickrusso3125 ya it helps a bit. Not the same as just putting time on it, but it’s better than nothing if the board is too stiff for your liking out the gate.
@@Grudzien34 I prefer the 20/21, wish I could find a 169 in it for sale. This years is stiffer all around. It seems a little lighter. Takes more strength to maneuver it. I’ve only put maybe 20 days on it this year cause I switch out to my 20/21 so often. Now that it’s March my legs are a lot stronger and I’m enjoying ripping it.
STRONGLY considering this for my new one board quiver. Will be replacing VERY old equipment (Burton Canyon 163). I'm 5'9" 225 LBs looking for board that can handle all conditions. I don't ride park at all. Love screaming groomers, heavy steeps, trees. Because of my weight I'm considering the 165 W which seems a little preposterous. Reside in FL so I ride wherever me and my friends throw a dart for our trips, mainly Colorado. Would you recommend this board and size? Will be with Burton Photons and Step Ons.
Got this board and union atlas pro bindings with K2 Orton boots. Haven’t had a chance to ride this setup yet…can’t wait for this season! Love your reviews!!
Very detailed review man, this board is so sick! I could see myself getting a board like this in the future. For my next setup I want something more solid that can also get thru powder better than a true twin, but not sure if I would go for a strictly powder board. I like how they set this one up as like a powder/all mountain hybrid. I just want to also say thanks for always throwing in comparable options at the end of your videos. I’ve always been a huge fan of K2 so I will check that one out as well. Also I see that OSL in the back! Can’t wait for the 2023 review. I just picked one up on your recommendation and a pair of Rome Katanas. I would definitely go with the Rome cleaver on the BSOD as well! Now just gotta to wait for resorts to open up. Happy shredding!
Looking to pick up the 2025 version. Debating between 157W and 161W. I'm 5'9 - 5'10 ~183lbs and wear size 11 boots. Think I should go with the 157w or 161w? Haven't ridden anything over 159 so the extra couple centimeters is making me a bit wary.
Went back to this type of speed-carv machine just last week. I’ve had a totally fkn awesome back in 2014/2015. I really missed that board as the turn initiaton was insane and speed handling was great. It also does pretty ok when you are not riding it 100% concentrated. This profile is 90% simmilar with only a flat section in tail so I expect simmilar behaviour. Will be riding this with flow nx2-gt hybrid and Nitro MK team pro (2024) in French alpes in March so I will let you know how were the impressions!
Looking for a new daily. Deciding between BSOD and the Alchemist. I have a 162 Excavator for powder and fun and love it. Coming off 2019 Berzerker. Dark horse, maybe the new MTN Pig. 6’2” 225 12 boot. West coast rider, and taking a trip to South America this year. Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks Avrin!
Either of those two would be a good compliment to that Excavator. Mtn Pig is too much like your Excavator. But coming from a Berzerker I'd say the Alchemist would be closer to your Berzerker than the BSOD.
How is the BSOD in powder? I live in CO too so not usually dealing with 3 feet of blower or anything (unfortunately). But we have a solid storm coming this weekend and I actually picked up a BSOD 162 today. Not sure whether to take that or my PYL 160W out on Monday.
Looking to snag one of these since going fast and carving is my thing, but not sure about sizing. I’m 5’10, 185lbs, and run a 10.5 boot size. I guess I am looking for stability at speeds and in chop/chunder, as well as a little bit of agility. Any recommendations?
@AngrySnowboarder so 161ish…would you say my boot size warrants a wide board? I currently run a Burton custom 158w with no issues…Thank you for the reply.
Another great review, how would you compare this to the aviator 2.0? Is it more or less aggressive ( which would work best as a daily driver ). I love hard charging and playing around rollers/ side hits etc Many thanks
After hearing the review, I would love to add this to the collection. But, already have the 20/21 version and feel it would overlap too much. Keep up the awesome work.
how'd they change the topsheet? my 20th anniversary delam'd on the nose. No edge damage or anything; i think it was just the flex was enough to separate the sheet from the wood. Once it let go, i literally pealed off almost 2 foot of topsheet with 0 resistance... love the board and I'll ride it til it disintegrates, but wondering if the durability on the topsheet should be any better?
Uncle Avran, I know you’re not a huge fan of Burton products, but would the Burton cartel X Pair well with this deck ? Thank a bunch ! For all the content
Hi @AngrySnowboarder, Would you recommend the 165w for a size 13, 220 lbs? Or could the 161w work? By the way - love what you're doing. Spending way too much time watching your reviews.
Great review! I can’t decide between the Alchemist and the BSOD. Hard charging, big mtn rider, love speed, trees and pow when I can get it, with 25+ years experience. 48 yrs old, size 10, 205lbs. Thanks!
Hi Avran, Will definitely get this year BSOD, but I am sill really not sure on the size. Need help. I am 182cm (6”11), 78kg (172lbs) and boots US10.5. I have been riding for 20 years, and plan on using this board as an all mountain, do it all board. For fast big carves on groomer, powder, trees and some side hits. Cannot decide between 157w, 159 and 162. Would really appreciate any insight. What would you recommend? Thanks!
Damn was hoping you really were 6'11 cause that'd be a huge man. Anyways I'd say 62 for more charging 59 for more well balanced, 57w for lower angle smaller resort.
Hi, looking for a hard charging all mountain free ride board can handle all conditions pow, groomer, icy and crud. Just wondering what’s your thoughts between the black snowboard of death vs Rome ravine select vs korua transition finder. Thanks!
Eastern rider that doesn’t jib, I feel I need a full camber directional board for ripping spray on ice fields they call snow out here. This board looks promising. I’ve been looking for a board to replace my nesrly 15 yr NS F1 premier, but haven’t been convinced I want a board that isn’t full camber. I wanted a Valhalla or Harpoon but the new jones soft boot carver looks pretty cool. What do you like for a high speed carve hard deck?
@@AngrySnowboarder you should change your handle to @densesnowboarder NS makes good boards. Thanks for making it easy to not click your reviews in the future. they’re obviously biased and based on vanity instead of functionality.
I'm sorry you're retarded and can't grasp having someone tell you how it really is. Perhaps one day your smooth brain will finally develop a thought that gives it its first wrinkle and realize you don't know anything about what you're saying, but till then the adults will continue to carry on without you.
Hello I need help! :) I would need a recommendation about new board :) I do not know which one is more suitable for me: Capita Mega Merc 153 / BSOD 156 / Super DOA 154. I'm intermediate rider; 171 cm, 72kg. Most of the time I ride on pistes. I like fast turns and also carves but I also like to ride slower and play around and take small jumps. Sometimes I play around off piste. Rarely I go freeriding in powder. I do not go into parks at all, except small jumps or low, short rails. Now I have an 'old school' Elan Quantum 155, which is directional chamber, 3D top profile. I like it but I think it is already time for an upgrade/change. I have it more than 15 years. It it quite heavy I think.
Hi. I had a chance to ride the 22/23 Super DOA 152 for 5 days. I'm a little over-weighted for it (72kg), but it felt great. I really like that board a lot. I appreciate the fast base, responsiveness, and stability. The only thing is, I do not ride switch at all, nor do I use rails or attempt big jumps. Is there anything similar in a directional, setback version (with all the benefits of the Super DOA)? I assume it could offer some advantages over a twin if I don't ride switch. Or not? Should I just go ahead and buy SDOA?
Do you like the now drive pro or CX for this board? Would the CX be a bit too much? Or jones? I want to try skate tech for free riding this season but not sure what would pair up best here.
@@AngrySnowboarder Got the CX; heading to Revy. I see your website is down eh? You pivoting? Wondering where I can see the written reviews now. Cheers man.
Currently on a Jones mind expander twin, Jones Hover craft and a Capita Merc. Looking to change out the merc as its pretty old and worn. Is this a good ad given I still have the 2 Jones boards? Also at 195 lbs and sz11 burton boots. Would you recommend the 159 or 161W? Thanks for the vids and info.
Hey avran in trying to decide between the 156 and 157w I’m 5’7” 160 size 10 boot ride mt baker and some backcountry stuff. I have a 20/21 156 bsod that I loved but sadly smoked it on a rock hitting a drop in Utah this spring. Always appreciate the advice and the honest reviews!
@@AngrySnowboarder probably just go with the 156 the quickness’s edge to edge is one of my favorite things about the board. Thanks for the advice I owe you a beer next time you’re in the pnw.
My all mountain board is the Jones StormWolf. It really does everything I want it to do but I've owned many iterations of the BSOD and keep wanting to get on one again. It's been about 8 years. How do these two compare? Too many similarities?
Hey Avran, sizing question! What would you go for with size 11 boots , 160lbs, 6’2? 159, 157W or 162? Mostly for charging/carving. Feel like the 161W might be a bit big
@@AngrySnowboarder thanks! But damn, that’s the one size no one seems to have actually… I have a 160w Manifest Team and have no issues with it (good float) but the BSOD 161W is a tad wider too.
Looking for a dedicated freeride board for steeps, backcountry, cat trips, and heli trips. I ride a mega merc for my daily driver and im currently considering an Amplid surfari, K2 Alchemist, and Capita BSoD.
Hi Avran, I am torn between the 23 bsod and the 23 mega merc. Like to ride fast by straight lining and bombing groomers and hills, trees, powder and like side hits and popping off natural features rather than park. More of an all mountain free ride guy and don’t ride switch much. Which board would be better for my style? Bsod or mega merc? Thank you in advance.
@@ryanomalley3216 I was looking to replace my regular merc after a few years. Demoed the Mega and BSOD, and BSOD was the easy winner. Less hooky, better carving, better in tight trees, and significantly better float in powder. Has me considering selling my pow deck. Bombing a chopped up powder field is like no other board I've come across. Buy it!
I am an intermediate snowboarder from east coast going to my 3rd year, really willing to buy this board. Considering my background, would it be harmful in anyway to get this board? Is it "too advance" or too unforgiven that would harm my progression in any way?
The 2009 was my first bsod. Then I had the 2012. And this year I pre-ordered the 2023. Yea I’m bit of a creature of habit but I really do feel like this board rips really nicely.
Hi, can i ride this board(169W) with a size 15 boots without worrying about toe/heel drag? I'm looking for a all-mountain twinish board to progress from intermediate to advanced
Adding to the onslaught of size Qs… I’m 5’8” 165lbs. Got the 156cm and love it but starting to think I’d like the 159cm more for a little added float and speed. Did I make a mistake or do you think that’s a good size for me?
Hey Justin. Im about the same weight/height as you, and wondering since 156 is OK but if 159 is also suitable and not making a mistake with that size. What was your experience? Thanks!
What’s up man after watching your review on BSOD I’ve decided I’m going to purchase one however I’m torn on size… your opinion would be greatly appreciated our stats are pretty similar I’m 5’ 9” 190 pounds and have a 9 1/2 boot size. I see you rode a 156 do you think I should go the same? I’m from jersey so don’t have many pow days but when they happen I’m there and I only go out west once a year if I’m lucky and I’m coming from a arbor Bryan iguchi pro camber 159 but the idea of going a size down is tempting so I can throw the board around a little quicker in a tighter or more crowded situation. Hope to hear back and thanks again!
Hey Avran. Spent the last 4 days on a 22/23 Mercury and wasn't a huge fan of the twitch that board has at slower speeds or in variable snow. Is the current BSOD as twitchy at slower speeds? Thanks in advance.
@@AngrySnowboarder out of curiosity, what is it that creates that twitch? While the Merc isn't nearly as bad, it reminds me of the 2007ish Lib TRS with banana and mag, I felt like that board was trying to kill me.
@@AngrySnowboarder spent the weekend on the BSOD paired with Falcors... Wow, what a combo. Friday was bulletproof in the morning then a few inches of new snow in afternoon, then 6" of pow on Saturday, it absolutely destroyed everything in its path. Groomers, trees, chopped up pow, even the park, never let me down. Still trying to find the ollie sweet spot on flat ground, but first roller I hit, it sent me DEEP.
More ripping fast turns, laying trenches, and boosting off rollers you're fine. Wanted to ride tight trees, smaller resort, less carving then should have gone smaller.
Do you think it’s worth getting the atlas pros? I already have the atlas 23’s installed on my board. And also what do you think about the union falcors for this board
Let's say you walk into your local watering hole, and there's this guy sitting at the bar, nursing a beer, looking deeply troubled. Being the kind soul that you are, you ask him, "Hey Bub, what's s'matter." He says he's looking for a new board, a daily driver, and torn between this year's BSOD, the Yes PYL Uninc DCP, and a Flagship. He says likes charging groomers, but also wants a solid performer on a powder day. A direction resort rider's quiver of one, if there is such a thing. You can see he's really tormented by this decision, not being as keenly aware of the subtle differences between the three as you are. He's sliding deeper into the depths of a PBR-fueled despair. But with a sparkle in your eye, you pull up a bar stool next to him, order a beer, and set his mind at ease. What do you tell him, Avran?
Currently ride the 2022 Capita Mercury. Do you feel like there is a big enough difference between the two to pick up the Black Snowboard of Death this year as well?
Hi Angry! For the last 6 years I have been riding Burton Custom Flying V, and finally the time has come to reach out for new board. My riding is: 90% - groomers where I want to improve my carving skills. 8% Park - but I only jump off of kickers, I don't do rails/boxes. 2% - POW if I am lucky. So in general I need a board that first of all will allow me to carve better, and from time to time let me enjoy kickers in the park. Since my current board is a hybrid board, I want my next one to be true camber, as I think I have the skills to advance to the more aggressive board. As I want this board to be at least 270 wide, I have narrowed my choice to two boards, which you have reviewed: Nitro Team Pro, and Capita BSOD. Where I live Nitro costs 500 USD while BSOD is 670 USD, and my question is - given my expectations is BOSD that much better than it is worth paying 25% more then I would pay for Nitro? :) I would appreciate your opinion a lot, and if you have a better option for me, I will be more then happy to check it out! Looking forward to hearing from you!
Grabbed one of these off one of your links! Do you think Now O-Drives would be too much binding for this board? Coming from a goldmember on regular drives..
Are strata’s gonna hold up on the bsod? I just grabbed a set when I got my DOA and wondering if I should bother with getting another set of bindings for the sake of my wallet
22/23 BSOD vs Mega Merc? Want something hard charging that rips turns yet not too stiff for side hits, landings. My last 2 boards were a 17/18 Jones UMT and Salomon 20/21 assassin pro. I liked the more aggressive feel of the Jones UMT.
Ah man that’s so long from now. Just wanna know what the flex is like this year. May pick up an early release if they become available and ride at hood
I got to ride the 23 BSOD with atlas pros this past season and I would totally agree with all this video. I ride a 22' Jones Flagship with 19' Now Drives and 20' Vans Verse boots. the 23' BSOD rails carves hard, like seriously on rails, i would overall say the review is spot on and if you do like the k2 alchemist youd love this board.
@@cameronharris2862 the flagship is a lot more a progressive flex with more taper, definitely more of a freeride focused board. The flagship handles chop/variable conditions so well and is wicked fast, the float pack inserts are super dope for pow days and overall just fuckin rocks most terrain; my only gripe is that I'm a lighter guy but got good enough muscle and technique behind the board but it can be a lot to drive when you're tired, quite lively. The Alchemist is light and fast, it's sidecut radius and taper make it really rip some nice carves. It's also a lil less of a progressive flex compared to the flagship because of the carbon weave they use in it. It has a little slower of a base which isn't super noticable but it can make a slight difference for cat track traverses. And finally the BSOD. I really love the BSOD, it's a pretty all around a stiff board but its lively so it can buck you. The bsod is definitely the most all mountain/all terrain of the 3. It's got very little taper but the Alpine v1 profile they use on it really makes up for that near twin flex and lack of taper. It's a big mean aggressive board that love to go fast. The base grind it comes with is super dope and good value. I've had 2 buddies buy a bsod this season and they love them, it is number 2 on my next boards I want right behind the mega merc, I just want fill my quiver out a little more before buying another big all mountain freeride board. To be honest, the bsod is my favorite board of the 3. The flagship is the ultimate pure freeride/pow board The Alchemist is freeride/resort beast The BSOD just does everything so well, it's a weapon.
@@cameronharris2862 no problem! They are all boards I really love. I honestly love working at a shop because I just get to talk about gear all day but I'm glad I could help. They are all similarly priced and all competing boards, you seriously can't go wrong with any of them. Hope you find the board you want and enjoy and have fun rippin!
Appreciate your reviews- sub’d. Another sizing question- at 6’1”, 178lbs (187lbs in snowboard kit), size 11 Photons; high level expert having ridden 20-80 days/year since ‘98; based in Tahoe (SV, AM, Kirkwood). +/- done w/ park, riding pow if there is any, otherwise treating mtn like giant high speed skate park. Like to rail it at speed between hits. Been on a 161cm Lib Attack Banana for years now (25.8cm waist). Boot out occasionally in the AB, so wanting to go wider, but a little nervous about 26.7cm waist on 161w BSOD. Tell me it’ll be ok?😂
"Your gonna launch a side hit roller cat track gap of a whole family having a family reunion that are all fat skiers" what a fucking quote, too funny 2:10
BSOD or Singular? I’m an experienced rider, but no expert. Like to bomb down groomers at speed, carving, focusing on technique. Side hits, very occasional backcountry. Physically strong, 205lbs, 6’3, 10.5 boot. BSOD 165W or Singular 162? Something else?
6’6”, 230, 14 boot, PNW, always looking for fresh snow, no park. Most fun decks for me so far are my Warpspeed 165w (2017?) and Storm Chaser 160 (2020). Looking for a combination of these, more float than the Warpspeed and more tail than the SC. I have a Stump Ape 160, it’s cool but still a short tail and not what I’m getting I’m considering a BSOD 169w or BRD 167w. Will you be reviewing the new BRD? Someone else asked how these boards “construction” was the answer. Mervin vs Mothership, I think I understand that and suspect the BRD is heavier. If you can, please elaborate on the similarities/differences of how they ride. Thanks, Appreciate ya
I am aware they ended the Warpspeed a few years ago and added sizes here to make up for it. I may have the wrong impression, but thought the 23 BSOD would be a little softer and more forgiving than my old Warpspeed. I love my WS but it’s stiff af. I thought this BSOD would be familiar but a little different and the added length would give that extra float. I have scoped the Amplid stuff, never ridden any or had any friends with one so I don’t have an opinion other than I don’t remember seeing anything wider than maybe 260? But I might’ve overlooked it. Will you be reviewing the 23 BRD or have insight to how it compares? Thanks again
@@AngrySnowboarder construction for sure, but if you can comment on riding experience, what are the main differences. Both boards are, let’s say, in the similar cathegory AM/FR. I have been riding a lot lib brd 2022 and I would appreciate if you share what I may expect changing to bsod 2023. Thanks
I own 21 version, and it's just my apple of the eye. I won't ever sell it. Thank You Avran for Your recommendation. Can't wait for this 23 review tho 🤟 Reminder - ON.
That year there was enough overlap it sat in the same category. They then went a little too far in the other direction with the 22, the 23 is just right in my opinion.
I already own a D.O.A. and have to choose between the 2022 and 2023 BSOD. I'm mainly searching for something to keep up with my friends on ski. What would be the perfect fit?

What's your boot size?
Your call honestly.
Been eagerly awaiting this one. Another high point for the bsod rollercoaster.
Got the 162 with Rome Cleavers after watching 500 of your videos. Thanks dude

Either of those two would be a good compliment to that Excavator. Mtn Pig is too much like your Excavator. But coming from a Berzerker I'd say the Alchemist would be closer to your Berzerker than the BSOD.
@@AngrySnowboarder Thanks man.
How is the BSOD in powder? I live in CO too so not usually dealing with 3 feet of blower or anything (unfortunately).
But we have a solid storm coming this weekend and I actually picked up a BSOD 162 today. Not sure whether to take that or my PYL 160W out on Monday.
Fine if you actually know how to ride.
Looking to snag one of these since going fast and carving is my thing, but not sure about sizing. I’m 5’10, 185lbs, and run a 10.5 boot size. I guess I am looking for stability at speeds and in chop/chunder, as well as a little bit of agility. Any recommendations?
Probably want something around a 161ish.
@AngrySnowboarder so 161ish…would you say my boot size warrants a wide board? I currently run a Burton custom 158w with no issues…Thank you for the reply.
Really depends on the boot. If it's overly bulky a wide won't hurt, really slim, you can go either way.
Any plans to review the 2024 version? Would love to hear your thoughts on it and if there are any tweaks to the ride in the new version.
It's the same.
Another great review, how would you compare this to the aviator 2.0? Is it more or less aggressive ( which would work best as a daily driver ). I love hard charging and playing around rollers/ side hits etc
Many thanks
This is more aggressive and less twinish than the Aviator.
Worth getting both or too much overlap ?
Love all your reviews. This board but unsure about what size to get. I'm 6'4, 225lbs with a size 14 boot. Looking at the 165w and 169w

how'd they change the topsheet? my 20th anniversary delam'd on the nose.
Wood Topsheet now instead of a lacquer coat.

Damn was hoping you really were 6'11 cause that'd be a huge man. Anyways I'd say 62 for more charging 59 for more well balanced, 57w for lower angle smaller resort.

Don't you think the 59 could be a bit too narrow? That was my worry.
Unless you have some weird bulky ass boot you're going to be fine.

Hello
I need help! :) I would need a recommendation about new board :)
I do not know which one is more suitable for me: Capita Mega Merc 153 / BSOD 156 / Super DOA 154.
Regular Mercury.
@@AngrySnowboarder Thank you for recommendation.

I ride a 22' Jones Flagship with 19' Now Drives and 20' Vans Verse boots. the 23' BSOD rails carves hard, like seriously on rails, i would overall say the review is spot on and if you do like the k2 alchemist youd love this board.
How does this compare to the flagship? I wrote a comment above. I’m looking at all three you mentioned.
The flagship is the ultimate pure freeride/pow board
The Alchemist is freeride/resort beast

Boot out occasionally in the AB, so wanting to go wider, but a little nervous about 26.7cm waist on 161w BSOD. Tell me it’ll be ok?😂
You'll be OK.
"Your gonna launch a side hit roller cat track gap of a whole family having a family reunion that are all fat skiers" what a fucking quote, too funny 2:10
Avrin would you really take this in a 156?
I take whatever size they send me.
Did it feel undersized? Im the same size as you but with an 11.5 boot and was looking at the 157wide
Honestly no, ideally I'd have liked the 59 I think for personal preference. But for what I was riding it suited me just fine.
I'd go Singular.
@@AngrySnowboarder because BSOD requires some crazy skills to take advantage of?
Better dampening.
Thanks, I appreciate the answers
They got rid of the Warpspeed and turned it into the wide BSOD so that's a real lateral move. Have you ever looked at an Amplid board?
Yeah it's softer but still kind of a lateral move. BRD is going to be more damp underfoot, less stiff in the tips, and engage its edge different.
Can you shortly comment on differences between bsod 2023 and lib tech brd 2022?
Construction.
@@AngrySnowboarder thank you for your reply. Which of the boards is more forgiving? Bsod, mega merc, ravine select?
@@kamilwalczuk1970 Ravine Select
@@AngrySnowboarder construction for sure, but if you can comment on riding experience, what are the main differences. Both boards are, let’s say, in the similar cathegory AM/FR. I have been riding a lot lib brd 2022 and I would appreciate if you share what I may expect changing to bsod 2023. Thanks
So…Super DOA or BSOD?
Yes.
@@AngrySnowboarder BSOD....?
I own 21 version, and it's just my apple of the eye. I won't ever sell it. Thank You Avran for Your recommendation. Can't wait for this 23 review tho 🤟 Reminder - ON.
Anyone have any experience hitting jumps with this thing?
It's doable.
Just ordered board
Be interesting compared to my nitro pantera
I have the 21 and love everything about it. I don't understand why Capita felt they had to go and mess with it.
Because they released the mega merc which is essentially the 2021 bsod crossed with a super doa.
@@Onesevensevenzerothirteen It is not the same as a BSOD at all though.
Depends on how you ride. More super aggressive and want to fly 22, something you can be a little more mellow and nuanced with 23.
@@AngrySnowboarder thank you, sir 🤠
Sounds like a good candidate for a Tahoe Cement and chunder charger...
Do you think this board is too much for a beginner?
If you have to ask this question do you really want to hear the answer?
@@AngrySnowboarder point taken lol I just watched your beginner snowboards video. I will look at those
So… do you hate the 2024 version?
Did I say that?
when will you review the 2025 version of this?
We won’t.
This or the Highlander?
Sure.
@@AngrySnowboarder so on the same for pow and carving the Baker snow and or Whistler?
I love my 2021 bsod! Interested to see the review on the 2023 for sure.
