    I bought a size up, and it fit better than my regular fit. It's a great lid in my opinion. My only problem is that somehow I got dust on the inner visor after sneezing, and when I tried to clean it I scratched it a little. Also, I messed up the pin lock so I I scratched the inside of the clear face shield. So, just be careful and when cleaning be gentle. Other than that I've had no problems with mine. I like the colors offered as they are loud, but not obnoxious.

    Had mine couple months ,vias,great quality, was shocked as mail order, glad I watched this as thought I had cheek pad problem on one side,fixed thanks to watching vid,one of the red clips came out padding and still inside. Took out and put back in properly.
    I have a lot of helmets, mostly premium brands, This hjc is definitely up there with them in quality.
    Commuting 25,000 miles a year it will get tested for sure.
    So far it's great.
    The vents work great,tried in cold weather ,they work .

    HJC is killing it. They've come a long way! The RPHA helmets are aces. And the fact they're so affordable makes them a no brainer (bad pun intended). Competitors like Shoei and Arai will now have to step up their game. Development throughout the entire motorcycle industry is Great Again!

    • @mattseaman5397

      Arai doesn't care about HJC, it's not the same level. Shoei too.

    • @Child3k
      @Child3k 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mattseaman5397 Sure - if you compare pure build-quality you can see and feel a difference between HJC and Arai or Shoei. But when it comes to helmets fitment is key in my opinion. And I have tried Soeis an Arais - they all are kind of funny for me fiitmentwise. I just recently tried on the new Shoei GT-Air II (which is the direct competitor to the RPHA 70) and it was hilarious: L too large. M I can't get over my head without serious injury - absolutely no chance.

    • @mattseaman5397
      @mattseaman5397 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Child3k yeah, fair enough. If the HJC fits you better, it's the right helmet for you. Imo Scorpion and HJC are the best bang for buck. But it doesn't mean that Shoei and Arai are overpriced. Arai are the safest helmets on the market, but they are expensive and not really light.

    Hi
    So i received my helmet yesterday and i went for 200km ride today (mostly fast B-Roads with around 100km autobahn)
    1st things first: AWSOME VALUE FOR MONEY! Respect HJC
    2nd i have had 4 helmets for some long trips till now: Shoei Neotec, HJC IS Max 2, Icon Battlescar and now this RPHA70. The RPHA70 has the ***BEST*** dropdown visor for me, not only its far from the nose or further from it, but the quality its at an OAKLEY Sunglasses level, with a light dark mixed with kinda of a very light blueish effect if you are good at noticing it. The transition between them on and off its nearly unnoticable, but make no mistake they do their job to remove glare and to much sunlight with no effort at all.
    3rd i choose a Large size for 59cm head like the specs required them and even-though i doesnt fit me as perfect as my Neotec does, with a simple balaclava, everything is perfect.
    4th had to install my Cardo Packtalk Bold set (with JBL speakers) on it before going for a ride, to compare it to my other helmet, pretty easy to install and not only that but the sound isolation was weirdly good, i mean i took my DB off just for the test (Z900 full system) and the way it sort of repelled the exhaust noise compared to my Neotec (going 4 years and a half) was kind of a black magic.
    Wind was something else though, the same level as the Neotec on its initial days, but compared to the Neotec, since this is a Sport-Touring and not Modular, it wouldnt give you so much freedom at turning your head side to side to look at the nature or birds in the fields (why would you do that u moron?? piss off i got bored on the autobahn .!. ) and here i might say this was the only thing i didnt like so much about it (not that it bothered me or something just need to get used to, speak my mind)
    5th as per those jackasses that complain about air flow, grow a pair, u either get air flow or sound isolation you dont get em both, BUT it was 34-35 degrees when i went for the ride, sunny as hell, full Dainese 2 piece leather on AND i simply opened the windscreen for a couple of seconds and thats it, no stress at all eventhough i was engaged in some nice twistiest at high Temp. There is a really good flow of air in it, there is nothing to bother i think.
    All in all for the price/quality ratio and looks i would recommend it any day of the week.
    As for me: Kawasaki Z900 rider, Puig Touring Winscreen and 169cm tall
    Cheers

    Love the helmet, love the review. HJC produce a top quality lid, and I currently own an HJC i70. I bought a medium, which at the time was a very snug fit, even though the tape measure places me at an XS, size-wise (I have yet to find any XS helmet I can get my head into), but 5 months down the line the padding has 'bedded down' and at speed I now feel the lid rising slightly. So my next HJC will be a Small. I've tried on the Small and can just about get my head into it, but once on it is a perfect fit. You live and learn.

I haven't had the chance to try an XL RPHA but I feel like maybe that would be too big everywhere else and be a little loose on my head (and I could afford to lose some weight lol maybe that will help with the tightness on the cheekpads)

So I tried a LS2 Challenger GT which is supposed to be long oval, and it fits well. I like the cheek pads, the pad liner material, and the overall finish quality of the RPHA 70 better, but I've had too round helmets in the past and when you're head's getting crushed it kinda trumps everything else! I will say the Challenger has excellent anti-fog coating on the shield (as good as scorpion), and has great FOV.

    For everything that HJC manages to get right and do better than a lot of the competition, they also seem to miss the mark on certain things. I think that chin curtain is poorly executed and they should have given the user two sizes that both clip in (like the cheek pads/liner) to the inside of the chin bar. Want more air, use the smaller, more open option. Want less air/more warmth/less noise, use the larger one. Would accomplish what they did here but in a more sturdy way. I can't see that velcro staying in place when I'm trying to fit my head inside.
