    Odd. My 70 is tighter than 11. I also found 70 cooler, that top vent noticeably scoops the air in. I prefer my 11 though, seems more balanced, but love having the sun visor down one inch in the 70. Nice review.

    • @ScottRidez

      @@ScottRidez Agree. BTW The cheaper IS-17 was an awful fit. I have both, 11 and 70. I put thumb pressure on 70 where my temples sit, now it’s soo comfortable. The 11 feels lighter in use than 70 (although it really isn’t much on scales). But in uk so weather goes from sunny to cloud quickly so the smoke internal visor in 70 is v useful. Also on hot days I just have internal visor down, like big sunglasses. On the 11 I use a 15% light tint visor that came with the Marvel version, which is brilliant, just enough to knock off glare, and looks like a dark visor, and is road legal (in uk)

      The profile of the RPHA 11 Pro is more streamlined. If you ride more leaned forward I would go with the 11. If you are riding more upright, like a cruiser, I would go 70. Good Luck Thanks for watching

    @snowpirate1619 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I went IS-17 then I70 and now the RPHA11 Pro. Main reason was weight. I can see why your wife prefers the 70 tho, their upright helmets are pretty good but i found, at least with the I-series, your head got bashed around at higher speeds. I'm hoping the more race inspired RPHA-11 fixes that issue for me. I'm sick of turning into a bobble head when i pick up the throttle haha

    • @ScottRidez
      @ScottRidez  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with you, but there is a sweet spot for the RPHA 11. If you move from that spot you will feel the helmet move. I'm riding a naked bike so there is not much wind protection anyway.

      @snowpirate1619 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ScottRidez I know how you feel, i'm on a MT07 myself. I tested out a touring style windshield to see if that would help a bit but all it did was direct the wind up into my chin making the bobblehead effect even more intense lol

    • @ScottRidez
      @ScottRidez  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like the RPHA 11 with a dark face screen better. Only because it covers the entire field of view. I have recently switched to a blue mirror face shield which I really like.

  • @tonordie5718
    @tonordie5718 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The rpha 11 is better, lighter. It comes with a dark smoke shield which cuts down on heat entering the helmet. The flip shield is like sunglasses but adds weight and makes it more claustrophobic. Imho.

  • @JesperH94

    How does the rpha 11 handle an intercom system compared to the rpha 70? Cause i'm riding a sports bike and i want to pick the rpha 70 because it's quiet. My current agv k5s is quite noisy and i have no problems with the intercom, except on the highway, where it handles ok ish. I don't think it's optimal though. I would like to have a more comfortable experience on the highway with less wind noise and more intercom sound (i'm using cardo packtalk slim with jbl, so the speakers are more than capable. It's the wind noise that is blocking most of the sound from it even at 100 km/h). But i ride a sports bike and i am tucked in most of the time, so now i'm once again torn. I have a sun visor on my agv k5s, but i ride with a toned silver visor, so i honestly never use it. Even in the city when it gets hot, the toned visor seems to work as a cap when it is open. And for ventilation the carbon version of the rpha 70 does a better job than the non carbon version, so i'm guessing both rpha 11 and 70 carbon does a good job at that. I enjoy riding with the lightest helmet possible and the rpha 11 is obviously the lightest. I've tried both helmets on but not while driving, so i'm not sure.. I need to know how the rpha 11 handles an intercom system at higher speeds and i need to know if the rpha 70 is still good in a tucked in position or if the rpha 11 is just far more superior in that aspect?

    • @ScottRidez
      @ScottRidez  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Man you asked so tough questions. Both helmets are great. the 70 is defiantly quitter. Both handle the pack Talk bold very well. Intercom is great and at speeds on the highway I haven't had a problem. I do think in the RPHA 11 you need to talk louder, because of road noise. They are both great helmets, but if you are riding on a sport bike in a more tucked position the 11 is designed more for that position. I don't have the carbon version, but I hear it is even lighter. I hate to recommend a helmet, but I will buy another RPHA 11 when the time comes. I have been having trouble finding the perfect settings on the Cardo, I did find that all mic sensitivities need to be turned down. Here is my final thought about intercom systems. They were made for cruising(slowly) and wearing the quietest helmet possible (Shoei??) If you are going to ride a sport bike at speed, then just know it won't be perfect. I have come to accept that 90% of the time I can speak to another rider. Sometimes I just need to wait until I slow down and cruise along. I hope I helped some.

    rpha11 interior is as tight as leather suit for racing. i don't find it is any more comfort than my cruising helmets like shark ridill, spartan carbon. i think its main purpose is definitely for racing use. the fit that require more than 80km at steep tight cornering. 120km ++ in winding roads. i don't think many people do that occasionally . so the fit would be too tight for everyday use. together with d ring lock system. man , and people prefer d ring on street use. they both at high safety zone just d ring is safer in some cases. by the way. rpha11 visor height is abit narrow but sufficient .

Of course they'll go for the skulls n flames graphics or typical murdered out matte black. And yeah even some of the stubborn old timers are just tired of shit hitting them in the face and having to pull out 5 different layers of crap out to put on their head and neck just to deal with the elements.

      The Large and Medium share the same mid-sized shell - the medium comes with 12mm padding, and the large with 9mm padding. So you can always use the same shell to create a large or medium helmet in this model.
