I love Arai. My daily lid, the vector 2 is almost 10 years old and about to be retired and condition of the liner is just as form fitting and comfortable as when I first broke it in. Top quality. This is the perfect replacement for my daily helmet.
Hello! 🙂 Looking for your opinion knowing your vast experience with Arai, old and new. I got two old Arai helmets, an RX7-XX (1999) and a Quantum-F (2002) both size "S". My head size is a 56.5 cm, so I'm in between size "S" and "M" and, as Arai wore a little bit large, the "S" was definitely the best choice for me back then. I still love those two old helmets - a bunch of other expensive helmets later and none ever felt as good. My question to you is, does this Arai Regent-X (or other modern Arai models) follow that same pattern today? I mean, would an Arai size "S" still be the best choice for me today? Thanks in advance
Same....I tried it on and said the same thing...I went from a shoei rfsr and was thinking between shoei 1200 1400 GTair Agv k6.....K6 lightest thing I’ve ever put on my head...comfort just not there....1200 felt like I expected....1400 and gt air same.....guy walked over and said try this one....done deal...wow...for me this is the most comfortable thing I ever put on my head
when was the 2020 snell rating put on the Regent X. I got a Regent X made in January 2019 and the snell rating is 2015. The next time they made the Regent X was 8-19 does that model have the 2020 snell rating?
The Regent-X we used for this review was manufactured 10/19 and has the 2020 Snell cert. I had a call with Arai a couple weeks ago where talked about 2015 v 2020 and I was told the helmets are the same. No changes necessary to comply with 2020. - Van
Sir which Arai helmet is the best in terms of ventilation...I am looking for a road/ touring oriented lid with lots of ventilation for use in hot humid and dusty conditions of India where summer temperatures often reach 40 deg centigrade plus.
Both are excellent helmets for sure. With the Shoei you will get a fully removable, replaceable liner as compared to the Arai which only offers replacement of the cheek pads. While these two helmets are very close to one another I would say the overall quality of the Shoei is a touch better. - Van
I'm thinking of this helmet or the AGV K6 but its a hard decision. The Agv K6 i found one for sale for $280 or the Arai Profile v for $390. Not sure which is better, because they both feel good but i heard someone say the Arai is louder but its also better as its way easier to put on What would you recommend at the price points i said?? Thanks
I am not familiar with the Profile V as we are in the US. Looks like this is the same model as the Regent just for EU. IMO they are both excellent options. I have not ridden in either of these helmets to date so I can not say which is louder. - Van
I purchased this helmet in the modern grey and cant find a store that sells a dark visor online. What do I look for? are all "x" model visors the same? will a signet-X visor fit this helmet?

Swapped my Shoei GT-Air for this helmet, the GT-Air is comfortable but this is even better, my head is 58 cm and a medium fit perfect, can not recommend this helmet enough, it is not as quiet as the GT-Air but I wear plugs anyways
how does this compare to the size charts? I have been on the hunt for a new helmet, but Arai doesn't make the Signet in 3xl anymore. An Arai rep suggested i look at the Regent in XXL, I know the know the corsair X doesn't fit.
@@sportbiketrackgear good news is the Regent does fit. i think my issue with the corsair was mostly getting my head past the opening/neckroll. Local shop had an instore only sale going, or i would have ordered from you guys,
Completely understand Arai not wanting to compromise the shell with a drop down visor. However, at a premium price point they need to pony up and pay transitions for their technology instead of their solution that creates noise. I love Arai, but it’s hard to justify the price they charge today. A Corsair X is sold in Japan for over $400 less than it is here in the states. If Shoei can do it for a $200 difference with the X-14, I’d think Arai could as well. Not sure if it’s Arai America or TR who sets the pricing, but they need to re-evaluate.
Pinlock makes a transition lens for arai helmets. Just purchased one for mine last week and it works great. Purchased direct from pinlock for 65 USD shipped
@@roger21087 How did you purchase from them? I don't see any way to purchase anything on their website and they only list Arai as a distributor in North America and Arai doesn't have the transition pinlock.
Transitions has an exclusive contract with Shoei, at least in NA. Bell has protint, but it is specifically NOT transitions, it's by a different company.
@@tallgeese88 that’s the Defiant! I still have one in diamond white. Outstanding helmet with great ventilation and good looks, I wish they still offered it.

If you are getting a good fit from the RPHA 11 Pro in a large I would suggest a size large in the Arai Regent-X. IMO they offer a pretty similar fit. - Van

I have had my regent x for a few months now. Its a great helmet but very noisy. I find myself always going back to my shoei rf-sr.
More ventilation = more noise. Try a set of ear plugs, that should help quite a bit. - Van
