Wow, thanks! I really liked this guitar and I get to play it from time to time. It belongs to the drummer in our band. He has lent me many others. Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching.
nice review, I have this in sunburst. One problem is the rattle in the tail piece on the lower strings.. I had to put little pads under each side.. wondered if you had this issue with this one.. I do love this axe however... thanks for your review
Sounds beautiful, info for you the nobs are made from ebony I got mine a while back in black flame and it plays a dream and I personally love the headstock it's different that is all and I like different
The knobs are very cool. I love the way they look, even if they are a little slippery. I thought about changing them to speed knobs, but they just look too perfect on this guitar.
Great playing as per your finesse and sensitivity on this D'Angelico. Great backing track in the opening and your accompaniment is really toneful. Also looking for this very same model guitar, would you have any leads if it's still available?
The ones they have are pretty expensive. Sometimes this one comes up on the Stupid Deal of the Day from Musicians Friend. This guitar belongs to my friend. Thanks for watching and offering kind compliments. Peace!
Man, your drummer has quite the guitar collection! I don't recall seeing him on guitar in any of your videos, but I could have missed something. I would be more comfortable with a sunburst finish, personally, but that's nice. The old school jazz style appointments just work on the guitar, as befits the name/heritage. Okay, question: "long hair/short hair" backing tracks? Which is which?
Here are some examples of Chip on guitar - th-cam.com/video/_mweBZx-8CQ/w-d-xo.html, th-cam.com/video/n2N2uSyW4yM/w-d-xo.html, th-cam.com/video/JnS6HQmUnK4/w-d-xo.html. I recorded some jams a few weeks ago before I got a haircut and some this week after my haircut. THANKS, LARRY!!!
This is funny. I have the fallout hanging on my shoulder right now. They are 2 completely different guitars. The fallout feels like a fender and has a p90 pickup in the neck position. I'll explain it this way. I would use the D'Angelico to play rock, blues or jazz. It has a very Gibsonesque feel and sound. The fallout can be used for just about anything. The splittable bridge pickup means you can get Fender-like sounds or thicker Gibson (or PRS) type tone. The Fallout is lighter. The D'Angelico is a much better made instrument. It looks, feels, and sounds like a high-end instrument. I like both. Thanks for that awesome question.
Nice job Rick. It's not a true semi-hollow (at least mine isn't). It's a hollow body with a block under the bridge, instead of a large block down the middle. I like mine so much I upgraded the harness and dropped some new pickups in it. I wasn't crazy about the Kent Armstrongs, but they definitely didn't suck. Great value.
Hi malvaxino. The guy who lent me the guitar (his name is Chip), says he used Ernie Ball 10-46. I typically use Elixir 10-46 or 10-52. Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!
A very wise man once said, "If you don't play a blue guitar, there can only be two reasons, you're too young or you're deaf"... that's a better headstock than them Fender-Pretenders, but not as good as an Epiphone...
Thanks for watching! They are pretty different feeling. Fallout like a Fender and the D'Angelico like a Gibson. The Fallout has a Humbucker so it can also get some thicker tones like the D'Angelico. The D'Angelico is just a super-quality guitar. You can see and feel the attention to detail. Oh, and you can buy 2-3 Fallouts for the price of the D'Angelico.
@@RickRomanelli thank you, did you get the chance to try the lower priced D'angelico with their pickups instead of the dimarzios? Are they good as well?
@@RickRomanelli I do like the fallout a lot from your reviews, but cannot test it where I live so rely only on online reviews and can only purchase online. Have now doubts that you say that the fallout feels cheap. Would you gig with the fallout tribute?
Finally a real player demonstrated the bells and whistles of guitars. Thank you.

Now you've gone and done it.....I'mma' thinking I need to get one. Beautiful.
I love D'Angelico guitars and the head stocks ,great job Rick !
Yeah this one is very nice. I like the color, too. Thanks, Todd.
@@RickRomanelli Ditto on the color ! I'm building a Telemaster right now and I am trying to match this color off a very similar Epiphone Dot Deluxe.
Love the tone on this one Rick, sounds great man.
Thanks, brother.
Has a very Art Deco vibe going on.
Beautiful guitar Rick, and great demo / review.😎👍🏼
Thanks, EJ. I've had it for a few weeks now and it's time to go back home to Chip. :(
Beautiful instrument, love the color, fantastic tone. Thanks
Thank you too!
Great Colour, specially the Light Blue. Beautiful mellow Sound, tasteful playing. Btw: Nice Strap! :)
Thanks, Pickerhat. The strap goes with the guitar loaner.
Damn Sound's as Good as it Looks

Thanks for watching, dude.
I have a D'Angelico DC. The headstocks are works of art.
Yep. I like those fiddles.
Sounds exceptionally good! Thank you, good vibe, good demo. Peace!
Thanks Jeremy. Happy day to you.

Thank you! Cheers!
Nice one and sounding great Rick.
Thanks Doc. Trying to expand my soloing ideas a little. I wish I could go back to college. Thanks for watching.
Sick review thanks
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful git fiddle, Sean Daniel has an emerald green one. 6 way selector switch,is humbuggy/single? Cheers, yup it's Clive🎸🎶✌
No it's just a 3-way. Just like a 335. Thanks, Clive.
My bad Rick, it's the deluxe that has the 6way👍✌
Gorgeous sounding guitar. This one didn’t have the push/pull tone knobs?
No sir. Just a regular Gibson-style. It's really great. Thanks for watching.
The grover Imperials look awesome on that headstock I'm a sucker for these types of guitars
It's classy.

Not fair Rick, you make everything sound good bro.... Sweet looking guitar but not sure about the headstock, for me. Xheers! likd 8
Thanks, Soda! Nice to see you here, dude.
I really like this guitar..
It's really nice. Musician's Friend had it as Deal of the Day a couple of times because I think this color does not sell as well. Great instrument.
Too many doodads and gaudy stuff going on with the headstock. And that switch down there?
BUT, it is very nice and sounds great.

Yes and they are really nice. Thanks!
Just stumbled across your channel. Do I detect a little bit of Yinzer in your voice?
Yep. I’m in Glenshaw, PA.
I grew up in North Huntington. Don't think I ever got to Glenshaw. Unless it was a drunken pass through some late crazy night.

I have had blue guitars since I was 30. If I were an architect, I would design my house around the theme of a G&L headstock.
Just got one used for just 350 usd!
