I too am coming on 1 year with an ss premier. Quite an incredible guitars with great tones. It's not my number 1 guitar but it has been my number 1 semi-hollow guitar. D'Angelico is one of the most underrated guitar brands out their. Great review.
Hey Jack, do you know if those Bolt Humbuckers are of a low wind variety? I was looking at the Sweetwater description and they don't mention it either. I thought that you were very familiar with the guitar, you may know. Thanks Jack. @@JackFossett
I have the DC Tour. Absolutely one of the best guitars I’ve ever played. Could not recommend it more highly! These guitars really deserve to be more popular than they are.
just got a black DC a few days ago, definitely agree that it looks better in person than it did online. I was interested in this series when it came out a year ago but held off. Glad I waited because for 700 bucks a guitar of this quality is absolutely a steal
Thank you so much for this review, I took the plunge and bought the DC Excel version. It’s so good it’s untrue, I paid £499 for it, it averages in the UK around the £900 to £1050 mark. It feels like an old friend already and this is my second day with it. It just fits like a glove. Definitely echo what you say about looking even better in person.
6/22/24 I just purchased the D'Angelico Excel Mini DC today. Cannot wait for it to come! These guitars were selling for $1495 when they first came out. Now, I don't know why, they are $699. Yes, you are correct! Great great price for a great Guitar!
I got one when they were marked down to $900 or so. I absloutely love it. I have it for gigs where my I don't need to always play my Gibson L5. I absolutely love this guitar and has a similiar feel as the L5 neck. And, I have 1/2 round strings on mine as well!
I have the mini dc sweetwater exclusive with Seymour Duncan jazz in the neck and JB in the bridge. Amazing quality workmanship and great components. These guitars are a steal at $699.
I bought a Dc then went back for an SS. Couldn’t resist these. Awesome guitars at a giveaway price. Happy bunny me. The black SS is cool as but the DC has more volume and sustain.
Cool video. Sounded great, I feel D'Angelico don't get talked about enough. They seem to fly under the radar sometimes, and they make really nice guitars. Just my opinion.
hi! i have the DC tour excel, a very good guitar....did you compare SS and DC ( i saw you premier DC vidéo) ? wondering if the SS realy sounds more jazzier or different from the DC ( im now looking for the more expensive excel versions with seymour duncan pick ups in it)
I have both. The ss is a slightly smaller body. The dc is a bit more acoustically bent and a bit more jangly. Both are superb guitars. I can’t for the life of me figure out how they have decided to discount them the way they have. The SS has less acoustic volume than the DC but both are excellent and the SS is way cooler. It’s a real looker in black.
As far as I know, they do not offer any products for left-handed people, which seems to me to make them a disgrace as a brand, to D'angelico and to anyone else who does the same
Its currently on a seriously ridiculous sale ~ sweetwater.sjv.io/EKgEYX (Affiliate)
I have one and its unbelievable
@@mwpv11where are they made?
The 7 dollars goes towards our 7th child. Speaking of that here comes daddy 👨!lol

You make it sound great Jack! A beautiful looking instrument too.
Many thanks!

I’m not sure about the wind - I know the neck is A2 and the bridge is A5. Tonally they definitely sound lower wind.
Excellent Jack, thank you for your reply, Lin.@@JackFossett

Boom diggity! It sounds like a blues/rock machine. Your killin' it, too. I just paid off the goldtop, so....

These guitars are a steal at $699.
6/24 just ordered the full dc as well as the TruGlide stabilizer in case it could benefit from straighter string pull. Very excited

Couldn't agree more!
Picked up a dc mini tour plays great might pull off the bridge p/u and coil split the neck. Put a nice block of flush rosewood in that hole.
What a fantastic video have a good weekend Jack also do you have regrets when looking back in life ❤😊
Hi Jack, I have a Premier SS from 2021/2022, how similar are the neck shapes with the Excel Tour?

I bought the SS Tour and love the fit and finish. It sounds good too. BUT I find the nut width an issue with my sausage fingers. Buzz
How do the excel tour and the premier compare head to head? I cant seem to pick between the two.
That is a ridiculous price for a great guitar 😲
Right? Saying it’s on a ridiculous sale wasn’t hyperbole
I bought this one as B-stock for $900 bucks and love the guitar, but it really pissed me off when 6 months later they dropped the price to $600.
Smaller body than a 335?
Yes
