I bought mine fully loaded with the spoiler for $1800, greatest purchase I’ve ever made. The car needs new struts and suspension parts over the time I’ve had it, which isn’t surprising it’s an old car. It amazes me that it has dual climate zones. The engine is like a tank
I use to ride to work with co-worker he had one that shit was super smooth . I went out and bought an 08 . I just put 1k worth of work into it just reg maintenance. That shit is riding like a ls460 now
My 2001 Avalon I bought from a lovely church member with 227k miles in 2015... now in 2021 at 310 k miles new struts rotors brakes new coil packs (6) tuned up ,new cvaxles It's riding like new , I'm getting it repainted and trick it out....I love it....😉
Thinking about doing this to a 2000 Toyota Avalon xls I bought on Craigslist my problem is it already needs a timing belt change just a quick question have you needed to change your timing belt on your Avalon? If so how much was it ?
@@prod.deathwishi did mine with new water pump. It was reasonable because my mechanic is fair and reasonable. Think i paid 400-600 but cant remember exactly
I’m turning 16 and getting my driving permit to drive to school and my dad gave me his 01 avalon xls and I wouldn’t want any other car as my first car it’s just so comfortable and drives like a cloud but it was in a wreck so I’m doing some Body work but love it
@@arturoperea2173 feel that...our first one got hit while I was driving and it was $2500 to fix (driver's insurance refused to pay for it), so we had to spend the money to fix it. My brother drives it now and it runs great
@@Nathan_Jay I’m having to fix mine on my own I took out a big dent on the back passenger side the passenger door has a big dent I replaced the bumper with one from a junkyard that I’m going to repaint soon to match and I just need to fix the door and I also had to get a new taillight cover
I bought new and still have my 2001 Toyota Avalon XL base, black with 250,000 miles (shows 400,000 km here in Canada). i bought it when i was 43, thought old man’s car , but great roomy back, toyota flgship, lexus engine, comfortable etc. i am now 64 and finally i was right , it became an old mans car, lol. when Best purchase ever, still rides great. Need a rotor and maybe back struts now. All done was timing belt 10 years ago and regular maintenace. Incredible!
This video popped up and so I watched it out of curiosity. Very enjoyable. The Avalon might be the answer to my Toyota question. I currently drive 96 Rav4 and am looking for a nice comfortable daily vehicle to switch up. Thanks 😊
Haha Hannafords! I’d forgotten about that store. Ours all became Krogers I believe. Also, nice review. Like Hannafords, I’d forgotten they came with the 6 passenger option.
@@42luke93, Yes, I say the same thing the 2020 Avalon should come with more of a variety of colors like let's say as an example the outside exterior of the vehicle Royal Blue, Apex Blue, Highland Green, Gravity Blue, I was originally looking for the 2020 Avalon with a beige interior and black exterior. But I whined up buying the 2020 Avalon all in black I like it though.

208K on my 01 XLS. Drives better than some newer cars I’ve driven.

Love this car and hoping to get one soon
Wish more were sold with the bench. Maybe Toyota would have kept that up to 2012 if there were more sales.

@Jonathan McCully, That’s okay people have different taste different styles listen I’m not mad at you boo do you.
Perhaps but I guess it's good that Toyota learned a thing or two over 20 years.
Yes, I agree bro.
