Poli, great tutorial Am gathering the final piece of equipment to put my studio together in it's final state so I can truly start working Have been learning my equipment in stand alone state to learn their functions for the past eight months Am waiting the arrival of my furniture (chair and table) and my model 12 to get here and finally put everything together Thanks again Poli, will definitely be hitting you up You're the best
Thank you from the bottom of my heart Poli Popo- it was a BUNCH of a help for me!!!😅 I was able to connect my new Wavestate to my new MPC X ... My mind is a bit rusty because I´m 72 .... Birthdaygift from my Kids - Big hug to you from Turkey!!!
The redundancy of your teaching is so appreciated... ever since I had the covid my attention span has been so lacking.. im pretty great with most audio gear because I've been a Hi-Fi audiophile guru for decades.. but even the beginner tutorials for MPC usually gloss over so many details that I quickly get lost. A lot of times they gloss over the basics like simple wiring connections. Would love to see you explain this process going through the software side of the MPC.. I have a Live, but I have jaf it on a shelf since I got it because I've been frustrated that I can't understand the basics of navigating all the menus and such. 3 months now and I haven't been able to record a track lol.. the good thing is, is that since getting the MPC I have been inspired to build a whole studio.. so now I've got a ton of synths and some great electronics.. having the individual synths has made me feel comfortable understanding a little bit better what I am supposed to do with the MPC, because at first it was all so foreign. Unfortunately I dont seem to know any local MPC heads that are willing to come kick it with me and make some jams so I can at least see the process in person and ask questions. Just like you, I dream of helping other musicians that need a place and equipment to lay down some magic but maybe they don't have the funds to build their own studio.. I want my studio to be a place for people who love music to come be free to do so even without any money... so that has inspired me to keep watching videos and keep learning the craft so hopefully one day I can call myself a real producer. Thanks for the free info, you rock.. I definitely liked and subscribed to your channel.
Eurorack is a fantastic never ending journey. But it will eat seriously into anyone's wallet. It is the background starting point for all my recording. Enjoy the journey, but it in my experience there is so much to be got from a small system. The real secret as the pioneers found is to add all those classic guitar pedals, delay, reverb, phaser, and flanger. Then the magic happens. Enjoy the adventure ahead.
Hey man love your vids. Love your willingness to share the knowledge....much love and respect to you. Quick question I have a similar setup I can hear my external synth but when I publish the song in song mode the final file does not have the synth sound. What am I doing wrong? All internal sounds from MPCX are on wav file except for any external synth sounds on final song. Thanks man.
I would make sure you are recording the synth parts as audio tracks .I’ll definitely look into it more and hopefully find a link to send but If you can hear your audio all you need to do is I am the track and hit record If that doesn’t work you might have to bounce the audio file to a sample but I’ll definitely make a better video about it ASAP
Hey Poli, thanks so much for your tutorials man. Hoping you can answer my question....I would like to sample my korg monologue....I have an MPC live mk1....do I just insert a trs from the out in the korg to the left input in the live? Do I need midi? Thanks in advance... Ben
Yup you can sample from the output of the kits into the Mpc Or if you hook up midi Press program edit and press the piano to auto sample a note But to sample I would just plug it in to the back and play away, then chop it up
@@PoliPopo Thanks Poli. So I have been trying this out, seems that when I record the synth on a track, it plays it back through the synth not the MPC.....do I need to 'sample' the synth to have it play back through the MPC? Ithink it may be time to consult the manual a bit more and maybe an audio course 😖
Can you connect the mpc to a usb hub and pc at the same time in stand-alone mode? I'm trying to be able to manage all midi through ableton. Great videos!
Thank you so much for this video. I have a quick question. Everything works great.. I even recorded my synths into my sequence… but once I disconnected my synth and played back my sequence I can’t hear the synth recording I just did anymore. Is there something I need to do for it to stay saved on the MPC X?
@@PoliPopo Are you able to walk me through it step by step, please? I’m so excited to finally get back into making music and I’m almost getting the grasp of this MPC X
Superb approach. Slow, methodical and simplistic. Good on you for these videos. It really does help. I have a question. I am using the MPC keys and routing synths through a mixer as you have done here and into the MPC. From there would I effectively run the outputs from the MPC directly to the speakers if there are only 2 outs on the mixer? Thanks again.
Hey Poli, this set up scares me lol. I have an MPC Live 2 and a Roland Fantom plus I use Ableton. I want to connect them all together so that they are MIDI synced and into Ableton to record both audio and MIDI. I also want the MPC and Fantom to talk to each other. I have a question I couldn't find anywhere online. When using the MPC live 2 in standalone and I make a keygroup say I choose the grand piano sound. I'm using my midi keyboard connected to the MPC Live 2 via USB how do I turn the volume up to make the piano sound louder playing from my midi keyboard? Its loud on my pads but not on my midi keyboard.
@@PoliPopo mine does not either. When using a plug-in option on the MPC Live 2 you can go to menu program edit then go to setup and from there you can adjust your volume level and the depth rates will turn off the velocity for the MIDI keyboard so I don't think any of the control would be through the keyboard itself being just a controller but I had wondered if there was a way within key group that you can go into one of the menus and adjust the volume I know that there is quite a few options in there but I didn't see anything that adjusted the volume wondered if maybe I was overlooking something?
@@googlerep366 The only thing I could think of is record what you want to play and then go to the step sequencer and there’s a down arrow at the bottom of your screen and it will let you adjust the velocity
