I believe that frye is based o a vampire squid! shes also based off south asian culture as well, her big forehead is a beauty standard, especially in india and it indicates wisdom! im really excited because of the music sounding like a mix of desi, japanese, and i think brazilian samba music

The floating stages are like they have in the japan festivals or what you see in brazil carnival,plus the music that goes along with it is epic!im sure there will be much more included once more players join splatsville/splatfest

First time beating and playing Splat 2 campaigns this year, and now playing Splatoon 3's campaign and MP, I can tell they have improved and updated a lot. I can't wait to see what comes down the road.

Like with how salmonids idolize death and the religious/ritualistic belief and make themselves taste to be eaten by their enemies giving back to the cycle of life. Or their trade agreement and relations with Octarians, with which they interchange power eggs in exchange for technology but NEVER golden eggs because they are so precious for them and invaluable (Which is why we are going ahead and stealing them, because they cherish them more than anything else and would never give them) They as a society would much rather wage war and get eaten by the inklings (which has been shown to be the case with the announcement of big run) that ever consider joining them.

Some of the Splatoon bands also have weird looking inklings, they're still squids though! Assuming Frye is a different species just because she looks different from other in game inklings is a bit much, Nintendo is just trying to show more diverse looking characters

I don't think Frye's really based on anything (vampire squids aren't even squids), if you've seen the art books, and even the art for band members it's shown inklings come in all shapes, the player avatars just happen to be what you play as.
Vampire squids are still classified as cephalopods though, and it's not an unreasonable assumption to make considering every previous idol has their design based on specific species of cephalopods.
I think the idea of worldbuilding takes over some people and then they don't realize when some things might be overkill for even Splatoon when it comes to function over worldbuilding.

He posted a screenshot right after editting the wiki and admitted he as just trying to stir shit up. Shiver is female and if you seriously believe this obvious troll edit, your white middle class ass needs to touch some grass. Also, Nintendo gave us Birdo in the 1980s, motherfuckers.

We've already been told that inklings and octolings are only weak to water because their skin is thinner from transformation, so a salmonling would be biologically impossible unless nintendo did a funny plot reverse on us
