Fun fact: when squids (and prob octos and cuttlefish too) die, they become jelly. This means the little cute jelly guys in splatoon are actually dead inklings.

Funny thing is Splatoon was originally gonna be a Mario game so the coins and the luma strangely fit perfectly.

@@SuspiciousTemmie Yeah, that's true too, but one of the ideas Nintendo considered was to play as Mario characters (or different colored Yoshis) in turf war.

@@SuspiciousTemmie it was going to be rabbits but then everyone they showed the test version to, including Miyamoto, didn't understand why it was rabbits. Then Miyamoto suggested Mario characters. The splatoon team tried that but it didn't feel right then they eventually landed on using squids
