@tftcentral Does SPDIF output means I can connect console like PS5 directly to monitor and still get HDMI sound out to an external 5.1 speaker system using DTS or any other encoding supported by the console? Or would that be only 2CH sound? Currently I am using some HDMI extractor for that, but it does not support VRR or anything more than 60Hz, which is a common problem. @@interceptor001 No, it can't be fixed. It's a flaw of the panel. I'm not talking about banding, this is something like vertical scan lines or pixel inversion or dynamic interlace pattern artifacts.

Using the latest QD-OLED generation (tested with Gigabyte FO32U2P) for work is nearly impossible. Green pixel lines over every letter and window. Does the new WOLED generation tested here have the same problems?

text clarity is once....text fringing is another...al QD OLED even 3rd gen has a lot of fringing...I can't stand that. LG C3 that I have in comparison, doesn't have it. I had the SAMSUNG G6 and the GYGABUTE FO32U2 on the same table as the LG C3. In Ofiice application like, beats both hands down. If you have progressive glasses, you notice it even harder.
I have the PG32UCDP and I get black screen for 2-5sec. Every time I tab out of a fullscreen game or change any settings in the osd. Does anyone got a solution for that? I found many people with the same issue and that’s really not good for a 1500€ monitor…
If you’re an NVIDIA user then that’s common on any monitor which uses DSC to power the res/refresh rate when you tab out of a game. If supported, playing in borderless windowed mode from NVIDIA settings can avoid that. Not sure what would cause it to do that every time you change any setting in the OSD, that doesn’t sound right at all. It might do it for some settings like turning adaptive sync on or off, or switching the dual mode setting, but not for EVERY setting (eg brightness level)
@@tftcentralfirst of thanks for your answer: yea I use an 4090. the blackscreen is not on every setting only on HDR or VRR or Frame rate boost and that stuff. But the bigger problem is the game tab out. And if I use frame rate boost in a game, the game moves to the second screen and it’s not possible to move it back. In general the frame rate boost option is difficult to use because of that issues. Don’t get me wrong, the Panel is just amazing and worth every doller. But I’m sad the it’s not working as good as my old monitor in functionality
@0Freezy- those setting changes are normal since the screen is switching in a major way between different modes. You’ll find that on pretty much every modern monitor and it’s not really linked to DSC. the alt tabbing delay is an NVIDIA bug with their handling of DSC, needed to power a top end spec like this. Sounds like you have a second monitor connected too? To stop the game being sent to second screen I would maybe switch to that mode in windows first before you load the game, then check in display panel that this is still the primary monitor, then start the game. It might be getting confused if you’re enabling that setting later once game has started
Hi, could anyone tell me if the Asus also feature CPC (Convex Power Control) like the LG does? Hmm how the hell do i decide? :-D
@@tftcentral Yes that is definently true. Will the colours seem to "pop" more now it is 4k compared to my LG 27GR95QE you think? Or would i need to go to the QD-OLED to experience this? Also one last question - Is there no ambient light on the back of the screen like there is the G80SD and LG 32GS95UE?
The image will be sharper and clearer because of the better pixel layout and higher density but the colours won’t pop any more as the colour space is very similar to your current screen. @mathiasweinreich1100 it depends on the position of the light source too, but in general I’d say it is fine in a moderately lit room, but blacks do start to look more grey if light sources are in front of the panel and the room is brighter

That entirely depends on your competitive level, what frame rate you can reach and whether you favour image quality and details (4k mode) or pushing frame rates (480Hz mode)
Valorant and similar competitive games more rely on cpu for pushing heavy frame rates, decide for yourself based on how many frames your pc is getting
If that would work using ASUS SPDIF out it would be far better option than some integrated speakers on LG model.
Which monitor you prefer best for video color grading from these two?
No real difference tbh. The LG if you have a calibration device as you can then use hardware calibration
The WOLED Panel just looks so grainy I don't know what it is. The G80SD is also matte but looks much sharper.
But G80SD has vertical lines like all the other QD-OLED monitors. I'm gonna return mine.
@@User-ys7cb This is normal to a certain degree but can be fixed by running the pixel cleaning function.
@@interceptor001 No, it can't be fixed. It's a flaw of the panel. I'm not talking about banding, this is something like vertical scan lines or pixel inversion or dynamic interlace pattern artifacts.
@@User-ys7cb Ok I can definitely not see that on my screen normally I can make stuff like that out instantly. Banding is even worse on the WOLED so that should not be an option for you. Probably go MiniLED?
@@interceptor001 I don't have many options left to be honest. VA panels are even worse if you are sensitive to scan lines from my experience. Mini LED IPS is often too slow or has other issues. However, the great thing about IPS screens is that they generally have no VRR flickering and no scan lines. I also tried the LG WOLED and it was alright, but I could hear the fan. The WOLED Asus could be a decent option, although it's too expensive for what it is.
I love everything about the Samsung, but I won't accept these scan lines or whatever this is. I wish I hadn't looked so hard for it. I also thought at first that my panel wasn't affected.
The SPDIF output support for the PG32UCDP is better for console gaming.
i bought the lg, on the second day already having problems the joystick stays on with this blurry lines where you can't see anything, dont' buy LG what a rip off i have photos's if you like to see, i click on joystick and all i get these scribble lines. do you recommend the asus instead, the only thing i like about the LG is the buit in speakers
Hello my friend, sorry for my English, I know it's not very good I hope you can understand me and read my comment, you could make a comparison video of the ASUS. ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM vs ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP would be a good comparison to know what type of monitor is best if woled or qd oled 3 gen Greetings from Spain
One is QD-OLED, the other is WOLED. Which is best is a matter of personal opinion.
Cdlt Nicolas
I can't buy the Asus because the stand and the Logo Lip are horrific, I wish these manufacturers would do away with 'gaming' aesthetics. There is nothing like making a £1000 monitor look like something of aliexpress. Whelp, I'll have to wait for LG stock if it ever comes
Does the hardware calibration calibrate the HDR modes? or just SDR?
Just SDR
I was about to choose Asus but as soon as i know they dont have calibration support it's the end for me haha THankssssss
not after my experience will u want the proximity sensor
If u mainly play with headphones, is the lg fan a problem? or is it just if u would play with the speakers
You wouldn’t hear it over either of those things, it’s super quiet. It’s mentioned only for those who have super silent systems and obsess over these things. If you’re gaming and have speakers or headphones you’d never hear it
@@tftcentral Ty man
Using the latest QD-OLED generation (tested with Gigabyte FO32U2P) for work is nearly impossible. Green pixel lines over every letter and window. Does the new WOLED generation tested here have the same problems?
Either you must have a very keen eye, or something must be wrong or configured wrong to notice that on these 32” 4K panels. The WOLED shouldn’t suffer from the same effect as they have a different layout but whether or not you notice other issues is hard to say
@@tftcentral me too... I have progressive glasses....it's so so annoying
Make sure Nvidia control panel in manage 3d settings are DEFULT use restore. Use some light on and if can use 100% brightness😊
I wish you put them side by side and have tested some games on them
You’ll only see the picture your phone provides. Don’t think it would help much

Is it normal for the LG model to have a tiny slit in the bezel about an inch out from the bottom right corner of the screen?
Mine had that
So I purchased the MSI MPG321URX and it looks amazing BUT I think the monitor is making me sick. I turned the brightness down too. I didn’t feel this way when I briefly had my 39 inch LG WOLED. Is it possible QD OLED is causing me issues? My Samsung QD OLED Tv downstairs doesn’t bug me but the monitor seems to.
Hard to say but I’d suggest making sure you’ve set some appropriate settings. Try out guide video for that
@@tftcentral I did follow your guide and had it on office setting, I think. I can try to anti-blue setting and see if that makes a difference.
Had the same problem with the 32 qd oled alienware, sadly I loved it
A lot of my game will be running in about 120fps so being ng able to turn on elmb should be fantastic!!!!!!!
Anti reflective screen coating the same grade on both ?
Yes identical. Compared side by side too
@@tftcentral Thanks.

What about in comparison to the UCDM does this have less glare as I have a big bay window behind me.
yes both these matte AG coated WOLED panels have better reflection and glare handling than the PG32UCDM's semi-glossy QD-OLED panel

Anyone know when Asus PG32UCDP is coming out in UK?
It should be pretty soon but we’ve not been given a firm date from Asus
@@tftcentral ok, thank you :)
OCUK just had a few in but they didn't hang around long. Scan has stock due 18th November.
@@omdwillieturnip8840 yeah I've managed to get one already from Chillblast, they had them first in UK I think
I'll wait for the LG meta 2.0 display
Meta 2.0 is a suite of technologies really aimed at the OLED TV space. Some of those technologies like MLA+ for instance are applicable for monitor panels. But “waiting for META 2.0 displays” doesn’t really make sense for monitor panels
tftcentral.co.uk/articles/lg-display-unveil-oled-meta-technology-2-0-for-2024-with-updated-and-new-technologies
ASUS wins in my book. Ive owned both. lg cant use vrr while using 480hz mode. ASUS can use it. Also, aspect ratio is a nice feature on a monitor. Asus also has some neat AI features. Better monitor in my opinion primarily for the settings and features.
Did you return both? If yes why?
@@tivtag I kept the pg32ucdp. Kept it for the reasons mentioned. One of the biggest reasons I kept the ASUS zero VRR flicker even on loading screens.
Im planning on buying this Asus this weekend, does it worth it?
i have G6 oled samsung QD no text clarity issue. Like people were saying nonstop there is issue with text clarity it even looks better than my g7 or benq zowie when i had,
text clarity is once....text fringing is another...al QD OLED even 3rd gen has a lot of fringing...I can't stand that. LG C3 that I have in comparison, doesn't have it. I had the SAMSUNG G6 and the GYGABUTE FO32U2 on the same table as the LG C3. In Ofiice application like, beats both hands down. If you have progressive glasses, you notice it even harder.
@@guttalexandrumihai9564 i have no fringing. My text clarity is fully white. No fringing.
@@tftcentral okay thanks I will try that : )
Still waiting for a wqhd 32 inch oled 😌
Hi, could anyone tell me if the Asus also feature CPC (Convex Power Control) like the LG does? This causes heavy vignetting, making the LGGS95UE I just bought absolutely unusable for visual work ( like CGI, Photo Editing etc..). The LG, even with Peak Brightness Off (so max 270 Nits with no ABL) will still create massive vignetting anyway!. It's brutal in my opinion.
Thanks to anyone who can answer.
No it doesn’t suffer from that. You can turn it off on the LG via the service menu but it forgets that each time it’s powered off annoyingly
@@tftcentral THANK YOU !! :- ) I know of the service menu, but even Sleep resets it.. and that's no way to function daily.
It's crazy I never see this mentioned, but I tested in 3dsMax, Photoshop, etc.. in all these software I only use "Framebuffer" that covers 25perc. of my screen, and the gradient isn't just in corners, it's like 70perc. of the screen.
I know this is gaming monitor, but still.. the LG cannot be used for any visual work. I am so disappointed in this product.
Just got the asus one and the setting for oled anti flicker is grayed out when using hdmi 2.1. But when i switch to DP 1.4 its accessable? Using included cables and a 7900xtx.
Strange maybe something to do with it thinking you’ve connected a console over HDMI. Just use DP 😀
@@tftcentral It's a head scratcher for sure. I'll try another cable as I've already done firmware updates and changing settings etc.
@@tftcentral No change after swapping the cable. Either Asus has blocked the OLED anti flicker setting for the HDMI 2.1 ports or I am the single crazy user who attempted using the HDMI ports. I know this is a new monitor but there is ZERO mention of this issue anywhere.
Where can I find your review Asus XG27AQDMG?
We haven’t reviewed it fully, but we tested the most interesting aspect of that model which is its glossy coating tftcentral.co.uk/articles/glossy-vs-matte-oled-panel-coatings-compared-including-the-asus-rog-strix-xg27aqdmg
@@tftcentral It worth reading.
Does 4090 will benefitial for this in having lg c2 :;(
Does this mean Lg doesn't have a heatsink and just a fan for active cooling?
Correct as far as we know
Really appreciate your videos. As always my go to when in need of new monitors. Damn i can really really not decide between the PG32UCDP or the Odyssey G80SD. I have the LG27GR95QE-B and i wish to go bigger and 4k and preferably fan less. Matte coating is a must for me. I would like the colours to pop more than my current monitor so that points toward the Odyssey but i am however not really a gamer and only sitting in a dark room 50% of the time. Sometimes with lights turned on in the office and it really worries me that the black can turn grey/purple if its not a dark room per se because i dont want to exchange better colours in some situations for blakc turning grey/purple instead so that however points me towards the PG32UCDP.. Hmm how the hell do i decide? :-D
You’ll find the Asus more similar to your current screen and it feels like that’s probably the safer bet considering your lighting conditions tbh
Although it also depends what mode you’re using your current screen on!
Yes there’s an RGB lighting feature on the back. The Asus Logo bit
@@tftcentral Thanks a lot you are always a big help. I am curious about how much light is needed in a room to affect a QD-OLED matte screen like the Odyssey G80SD. My room isnt super bright it just isnt blacked out but it would really annoy me if the colors started messing up
@mathiasweinreich1100 it depends on the position of the light source too, but in general I’d say it is fine in a moderately lit room, but blacks do start to look more grey if light sources are in front of the panel and the room is brighter
