Coming from a minitruck with 8 valves and a manual switch box to the Air Lift 3P manifold is pretty impressive. My kit (for an HHR) is discontinued so my hunt to find one lasted 2 years.

Had air years ago on a 91 Civic sedan. I absolutely loved not having to go sideways to cross a speed bump. It even made the car a little quieter from road noise. Always loved the "How does he drive that?" look and then they see the car come up off the ground.

@@joeyhelf406 Depends. You can get a cup kit for about $700 that is just the front. Add the rear is probably another $300-400. You can't really drive with them engaged as they cause the springs to load. They are basically just a cup that can inflate that sits on the coil. When it is engaged, it will raise the strut about 2-3 inches. The kits come with a compressor and are just like wiring a bag kit. Typically, the airbag will take the place of the coil and cup in a full air-ride system. I like this setup because its easy to build gradually so if coilovers are enough for you but you still want to be a little lower and have maneuverability, installing cups wouldn't take very long or cost much. A full bag kit pretty much has to be done all at once and requires a bit more playing with to get right.

If you can install an Amp, Sub and swap in coil overs you Can install air ride with little to no trouble nowdays.. but when running lines protect them I ran 1/4in copper nickel brake line under the car and used proper leader lines near the pivot points to reduce stress on the lines from movement i honestly believe that your going to build a hardline trunk why Not hardline it where the lines are at risk ? My rear bags just use a braided leader to a bulkhead drilled into the spair tire well hard lines run beside the fuel lines to the front and are flared to bulkheads in the front wheel wells a 90deg street elbow points down and the front bag attaches with a 18in leader line the line has black wireloom zip tied over it for extra protection from whipping around from bumps. I have done the last 14 installs this way never had a leak bad line at any point in the system my cuz popped a bag but he had wheels with bad offsets and they rubbed the bag..

As someone mentioned you can drive at whatever height you desire. When I go to events where you park in grass I air up to 80f/80r to avoid hitting the ground when my car goes into dips in the grass. Highways I’m at 55/50 and urban roads I’ll be at 45/40. When I wanna look real low I’ll drive at like 25/22 where the lips of my wheels are pretty close to my fenders so if I hit a big bump it would probably hit, so I use it for when driving very slow in show areas.

Serious question... I drive a Honda Civic Si Sedan, FA5. I have a job where I have to haul like 500lbs of gear around, and my stock suspension is shot. If I go air bags, can they handle the extra weight (mostly in the trunk and back seat) and help me not destroy tires so fast? Are there Heavy Duty airbags? Is it true I can't use them in Canadian winters?
    Thank you.

3 years on air and never had a line rupture. I routed mine through the interior and made sure they would not run against anything to cause them to have a weak point. A lot of cars need to have the strut towers shaved down in certain areas to provide clearance for bags too so if you didn’t do that it would give reason for a bag to pop.

Harshith Sadhana I would still pick air because it definitely showed its value thru out the 3 years I have had it.. if you know what could happen and your ok with it and you carry a few extra tools and air lines you should be fine and will have a blast with air.. the bag was definitely a weird mister but it was covered under warranty

This might be odd compared to the other people here but i'm curious about air as a means of getting more ground clearance instead of lowering the vehicle.
Have to deal with some really bad roads where you sometimes have no choice but the creep through some deep potholes. Was planning to simply lift the vehicle but after thinking about it air would allow me to bring the vehicle back down to an optimal ride height for better handling.
Was curious if they make kits specifically for that or setting it up so that the lowest height would be factory specs would be fine? I'm completely new to this.
