the way you offer similar expressions for the same meaning, explain nuances, and supply example conversations and drama clips, is all super helpful. i'm one of those chinese-americans who can understand more or less, but can't speak well, so i'm trying to expand my vocabulary and phrasing with your videos. i'm really glad i found your channel, keep up the good work!
I have been in China for 9 months now and I really love the place but I'm struggling with the language. In particular I have been struggling to find useful common phrases people use on a daily basis. I find it quite easy now to express myself and how to speak about daily life but my listening is much weaker than my speaking. Thank you so much for your videos, you've earned a sub for sure :D
bonus: use "卧槽" for literally everything to really sound like a native speaker on the internet (you can use anything that sounds similar in PinYin form, for example "我靠“ and "我艹“ also work fine
I always enjoy the clips from TV shows with examples of phrases, but this is the first time I've actually watched one of them! Rest Your Head on My Shoulder was the first show I watched after I started learning Chinese. It's still one of my favorite mainland China shows.
I was hoping there would be a channel teaching Chinese with example clips from dramas and I found it! Thank you! It's so much easier to learn sentences when you hear them in more natural setting than text book audio.
I really wish your channel grow fast. Thank you for your videos! I couldn't find any TH-cam channel like yours, with such good useful tips for people who are beginners. It would be great if you do something like podcast talking about anything that interesting to you but using not complicated language for beginners. But of course it's nothing but my thoughts. Thanks again!
All of your videos have been soooo useful, but I think that this one may even be the most useful one yet! These phrases are incredibly important in real conversation. I love how your examples simply illustrate the contexts that these phrases are used in! 非常感謝!
我经常听到我的汉语老师说,”没错。“ Otherwise, I've never heard of any of the other phrases you mentioned in the video. That aside, very informative video as always. 谢谢你!
I’m so glad that I found your channel, Grace. I’ve been binging over your videos because they’re very useful and easy to understand for me. I can watch it while I’m chilling without feeling I’m in the middle of studying. Hope to see more videos! 💗
Put your head on my shoulder! I loved that show! When I get more comfortable with mandarin, I have a list of shows to rewatch and that's one of the first. Love it
Dear Grace, thank you so much for your channel, I've started learning Chinese about a month ago and your videos made the process easier, fun and much more effective! You're a great teacher, happy af that I found a girl who teaches real life language, not textbook one! In the lesson about food there was so much animal stuff! But.. How do you say "I'm a vegan, I only eat plant food?" Please, make a lesson for people like me 🙏 Just saying "我不吃肉和鱼, 我不喝牛奶" isn't satisfying :) Btw, are there many vegetarians and vegans in China? 谢谢你,Grace 老师 🥰
Thank you, these are amazing! I love that you both included yourself pronouncing the words in different speed levels as well as included a clip of someone saying the phrase in a movie! It makes it easier to know how it sounds in normal speech that way. 谢谢你!
This was really great, thanks! I'm always looking for phrases and just stuff people say in daily conversation since I want to be conversationally competent for when I go to China at some point in the future!
I am a Chinese native. I’m learning English, I know it is hard to learn a language so I’d like to help people who are learning Chinese. And if it is possible, we can teach each other through Ins....😁
just realised i've watched some of your other videos and they were very helpful, subscribed! the amount of pyhoms clips in the video,,, they're kinda making me want to rewatch it cause when i first watched i barely knew any chinese
Some of them were so easy and fun to learn/say, I LOVE THIS! You think it will be ok if I say some of these to my fellow Asian classmates? Im worried they will laugh at me or think im being offensive 😅 but i just love asian cultures
I am amazed at any Mandarin-speaker that can learn English or any English-speaker that can learn Mandarin. I hear both are very difficult because they are so different.
Thanks for posting - nice idea to use the video clips to illustrate the different phrases - I see that "Put your head on my shoulder" is available to watch on Netflix so I will take a look.
Hi Grace, thank you for this informative video! It's good to know these phrases and with the help of your video learning them is quite easy! Have a good time in the cold northern US. The region where you are can be very cold - especially for people from relatively warm Taiwan (tough little country!).👍
amiga ,trato de entender el ingles para saber elmandarin y por el pinyin me ayuda ,pero es genial felicidades ,sigues haciendo videos ,saludos desde lima peru
I love these videos, thanks so much for making them!! I’d love to learn more about native/polite phrases to say when interacting with the general public eg. When leaving a cafe, “Have a great day!” :D
Dear Grace I love your video so much💕 I hope one day u could teach us some common conversation in pet shop ( example in that shop has puppy cat hamster and rabbit ) .

Thank you for the China's Taiwan lesson
Do you offer a printout of the phrases and meanings including pinyin? That would be very useful. Excellent lesson!
Love these useful phrase videos - they really help bridge the gap between sounding like I learned from a book to sounding far more natural. Thank you!
我也這樣覺得喔!
I won’t to be one of them
These are indeed very colloquial and useful. Living in Taiwan for 46 years I can assure you these are essential.

Yesss I agree. After watching Chinese films I realized I’ve been pronouncing Chinese words very unnaturally 🥲 So it helps to fix your pronouncation
