    Seem like a much, much simpler delay system than roller delay blowback in much, much more expensive firearms, though it does look like CMMG has started to get a bit proud of their product as to pricing. It’d be awesome to get these systems at a price to be able to feasibly build a decent one for less than a grand.
    FWIW I have a ton of respect for CMMG’s product development.

    Great video, Mike! The system works. My friends and I were able to jump from target to target at ridiculous speeds because of the reduced recoil, and the AR pistol didn't get dirty quickly. At least not until someone busted out the Remington ammo. Feel the burn, Remington!

    I admittedly know very little about the subject, but out of pure curiosity, if you could, please answer these questions I have:
    -A bit of exposition first: I know the radial-delay banshee line of guns is mainly composed pistol-caliber firearms (9mm, 45acp, 10mm, 5.7x28 and 4.6x30), but I can't help to think of the HK roller-delayed family of firearms.
    Could the radial-delay system be used for rifle calibers (say .223 and .308)? would the pressures be too high? how would it compare to roller-delay? would it require less weight in the bolt carrier and recoil spring? and, I know this might not be possible for you to answer, but still, are there any plans for producing rifle-caliber radial-delay firearms in the future?
    Loved the video! I think the radial-delay system is an amazingly ingenious way of adapting the already existing parts of the ar15-type rifles and carbines to work without needing gas operation or the extra weight of straight blowback, just by, and pardon me if I am over-simplifying it, cutting the bolt lugs at an angle and cutting matching angles in the chamber.

I love the fact that I can plink 4in steel all day long at 95M with the Sub2k. The AR 308s and 556 destroys the chains. Ive been looking at 9mm AR builds for the last 5 years, all straight blowback. • @3darms
      @3darms 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The force on the back of a cartridge is way way higher with rifle caliber rounds so direct impingement means the gas doesn't start to unlock the bolt until the bullet passes the gas tube. With radially delayed it would happen immediately.

    The two CMMG RDB 9mm uppers I've used had very snappy recoil like a straight blowback 9mm AR but were very unreliable. One was my buddy's upper, which he returned to CMMG and they said it was faulty and replaced it. The replacement is the other one I've used, and it also doesn't work. I really don't like straight blowback 9mm ARs, but at least they work until they hammer themselves to death.
    I have a CMMG 22 AR upper, and it doesn't work.
    My other buddy bought a CMMG LPK for his AR, and the trigger doesn't reset.
    They're 0 for 4 in my book.
    I think the CMMG RDB could be really cool, if it worked, or did any of the things they say it does. But it doesn't, because the operating system is total garbage.
    Look at their slow mo in this video, and check out the ejection pattern on their gun. It's random. Some rounds bypass the shell deflector. On my buddy's gun, almost all the cases bypass the deflector and some hit him in the face because he's lefty. The guns just don't work. I'm glad they showed how garbage their guns are in their own advertising. Check out how repeatable the blowback action is in comparison.

    • @CMMG
      @CMMG  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It may require some tinkering. We've played a little bit with some various adapters, and the ejector and feed ramps (if they have them) will need to be removed. Mag seating height could be an issue too. We've seen some mags feed fine (primarily Glock OE) with some cheaper polymer mags don't.

You can get it in 300 blk out, 5.7 but then the next caliber that it can be converted to drops all the way down to a 9mm 🤷‍♂️ I would like something a little cheaper to shoot but not have to lose a bunch of stopping power. I'm currently trying to get my radial delay blowback upper to work with a 9mm Colt style lower. It really seems doable. So far I've removed the lower ejector. Then what I see next is the lower feed ramp side and the magazine lips are about 1.2mm too high for the bcg to pass over it. So could this system support rounds like .223 in the future or is it just too much pressure for it? I would actually be very intrigued to run a .223 chambered pistol build with no gas tube so I can cnc a custom extra slim handguard.

    The Banshee looks amazing, but quality control sucks from my perspective. I purchased a Banshee MK17 9mm and from the first magazine, the trigger reset is garbage. In my first outing I fired 100 rounds….probably 40 times the trigger failed to reset. Not sure I got more than 2 or 3 rounds in a row to fire. The gunsmith at the range took it apart and fiddled around with the safety and the trigger, then lubricated everything. But no real improvement. I contacted CMMG and they basically said I can send the gun back for repair (would take several months due to back log) or they will send me parts and I can try to fix it myself. I am reasonably handy, but not a gun smith. This sucks for a $1600 gun….all these reviews are positive….but they sell me a lemon and will do nothing about it. Don’t waste your money.

      You just need to make sure that your Glock lower doesn't have the feed ramps and ejector built in. Those will get in the way of the RDB system. As stated, a lot of times those are removable, but we still don't test with others' lowers to be able to guarantee compatibility.
