I would have preferred a look similar to the 2021 RS6. Also, please don't follow in the footsteps of the Toyota Supra and add fake vents to the bumpers. This automotive trend needs to stop. The grill looks good, but it should have maintained a traditional Audi shape. Flaring out the center grill under the headlights in gloss black does not look right. Interior looks great, but please also stop with the glossy black plastics. My 2016 VW Golf R has this and it's a scratch / fingerprint magnet. I will never buy another car with glossy black plastics inside due to this. The interior on a $60K car should be robust and built to last. Otherwise nice looking Audi. The mechanical choices appear to be spot on (5-cylinder engine, rear diff, etc).
I agree with the grill. That's why when I get mine I will paint the gloss black parts body color so that it tames the while giant grill look. Similar to the s3.

And in PERFORMANCE mode it doesn’t shift anywhere as good as the R8. Without having driven an R8 you wouldn’t know it, but having both I can feel how slow the RS3 shifts when paddle shifting. The RS3 chassis is also very flexy and not all that stiff. When driving up a driveway if you take it at an angle you can hear the chassis flex and creak. But in the corners it’s super fun. Have to figure out how to drive it though which is half the fun. When you figure out that it likes to accelerate through a corner (a no no in most cars) it opens up a world of smiles.
I don't think that is turbo lag. Audi makes that small hint of lag from idle for a smoother take off, and the it goes. They could have made it pretty much instant if they wanted to.

Slightly off topic, but car prices are relevant and know one seems to put 2 and 2 together. Privately owned central banks print money into existence this takes time to filter into the prices, they have printed trillions- ruining our purchasing power.....this is why cars are expensive, so are real goods copper, zinc, magnesium, with or without convid-1984 shut downs, the supply chains shortages etc prices would rise anyway, due to more money circulating chasing the same amount of goods. Inflation simply put is 'increase in money supply'.(we have had huge increase since 2008 trillions on trillions).. not prices rising, that is the effect! But sadly people are lied to & misinformed to hide the truth about bankers counterfeiting their respective fiat currencies. So buckle up these private western bankers don't care about the cost of goods, just helping prop up the markets so their banker buddies share values are strong. They only care when the masses wake up and realize what they've done to the currency as we slip towards hyper inflation.
I've been an Audi fan for years. I've had an A5 Coupe and an S4 Sedan... I'm thinking this is my next one as a saloon - not in the 'look at me' colour, though. Gray metallic with the carbon black pack option.
Where are the sharp side lines from before? Looking more like a Corolla on the back part of the side if you actually look at it. Nothing screaming Audi on the sides like before. Go back and compare. Needs more pronounced ridges/lines. I want to like this as there are great parts to it but man does it look like they sacrificed some of their legacy for this generic look on the side.
300+ HP is not a hot hatch Imo. It's a race car/rally car for the street. Hot hatch is suppose to be a bit beefier version of the "standard" hatch. with a few mods making it sportier. Kind of like the Golf GTi still is. Ofcourse I grew up on Golf GTI MK1/2 and 205 GTi etc. So this might be my age showing.
In the States it has about the same starting price as the new Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing. The Caddy is roomier, better looking, almost as fast and can be had with a manual transmission and is RWD. Definitely more fun to drive. I can't see paying $60k+ for a hot hatch.

Not sure the carbon comes with adaptive suspension. Again I think you can only get sports exhaust with the dynamic pack 5k extra from the base model, can’t see the 1k extra mentions. I found this review quite boring and inaccurate
Hi Ollie - we got our information direct from Audi. We were told the RS sports exhaust is available as an individual option for £960 or as part of the RS Dynamic Pack - the UK configurator appears to back that up. Configurator does suggest adaptive suspension is a £960 on the Carbon, so we'll clarify with Audi. Thanks for feedback.
@@whatcar what’s the exhaust individual option called for £960 as I can’t see it. Probably due to pandemic and parts but Audi have really disappointed with extras and lack of configurability.
Just waiting and waiting in the US
I've been an Audi fan for years.
I've had an A5 Coupe and an S4 Sedan...
I'm thinking this is my next one as a saloon - not in the 'look at me' colour, though.
Gray metallic with the carbon black pack option.
The car deserves an exciting colour imo.
@@Gord0nG3kko Exciting colors are douchey though. Like who drives a lime green car? Embarrassing.
5cyl!!!😍😍😍😍
Exterior without the fake vents would of been way better, not sure what they were thinking with that
Almost every single vent is functional! 😂
Daewoo Leganza over the RS3 for me
This RS3 v CLA 45 AMGs. I want to see the 🏁 🏎
All brits pronouncing "Vorsprung" ist funny as hell :D It's actually pronounced more like "fourshproong".
Doesn’t make any sense but aight
No one in the comments talking about the size of the grill….!?
O$O$O$O RS3withthe5 brilliant
You didn't mention the restricted luggage space...markedly less than lesser versions of the A3.
something to do with the 4 wheel drive!
Audis are starting to look ugly to me and I loved audis since I was kid
Buy a golf r 7th gen and do 2nd stage mod.. Boom.. Easy 3.6 second.. 30k is enough
Do you notify your insurance about these changes 🤔
the only good about this car is the powerplant styling is a boring family 4 door sedan
Buy a sport car then and stop complaining, this cars styling is great
@@sillimilli3802 like i said a 4 door family sedan no one is complaining its reality
@@jaimemoreno9608 what im saying is this cars' styling is not boring for what it is, it's not only the powerplant thats good about it

S line is barely qualified as hot hatch (being cheap, practical, with horse power), these are expensive hatch categories
also a saloon is not a hot hatch
In the States it has about the same starting price as the new Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing. The Caddy is roomier, better looking, almost as fast and can be had with a manual transmission and is RWD. Definitely more fun to drive. I can't see paying $60k+ for a hot hatch.
Nobody cares. No car person would buy a shitty V6 turbo turd if you could have an Audi R5T.
@@haviiithelegogunner907 LOL, okay. The Caddy has a better, more powerful engine, a better chassis, better handling and will last longer. My parents had an Audi A6 and the thing was in a junk yard within ten years. Not impressed.
@@norwegianblue2017 Don’t compare a shitty A6 to an RS3. RS3 is the most reliable Audi. The mods that these cars can accept and horsepower gains is unmatched for its displacement.
I always said I would never buy an Audi unless they brought back the 5 cylinder and made it a DSG. Well I bought my first Audi 4 years ago. An RS3. 80k hard miles and it’s been amazing!
Lots of tuners have had them doing 9 seconds on stock blocks with only bolt ons. Those who build the blocks are running 8’s. Stock trans with upgraded clutch packs. Super solid!
Hence why the book values have help up extremely well on the RS3’s in the US. One of the best tuning cars.
In the states, we also don’t get the hatch. Only a sedan.
Yeah, good luck actually getting your hands on the V though. They are so limited production that nobody can actually buy one.
The front end looks weird
But...... is it reliable???
He’s pretending driving the sport pack version 🙄
This is no hot “hatch”
How did you transform from a middle aged very forgetful look (almost nerd like) to an inshape toned, Handsome younger looking guy?
This doesn’t look like a hot hatch 😆
And when you did the 0-60 acceleration test the video didn’t really match what you where talking about. Who edited this. I felt like I was watching a getaway tv show
It has a hatchback version, but they probably didnt manage to get their hands on it. They just call it a hot hatch because its easier than “hot saloon” or whatever, and the rs3 was originally a hatch only, and the saloon version was only added in the 2nd generation
I just can't get my head around the idiotic decision to make a steering-wheel like that.
FFS it looks ridiculous. Like one of those cheap covers from the 90's....
Comparing a Honda Civic type R to a rs3 please stay off the maal
What Car stands out every single time, but 60 K is electric Taycan almost.
Life is out of stock
Really great car, but for me, for a little more space and less hooligan, I’d have an RS4 n Misano Red.
-10 points for not actually driving the hatch even though titled as such
Why can't we have that cool interior?
Back in the day I used to love this type of old fashion hot hatch . Then I bought a Tesla 😳i will leave it there enough said 😄
Fuel engines more fun in my opinion I drove tesla and .. no fun just quick with no soul and I leave it there enough said.
You have a Tesla 🤣 enough said
@@umairejaz6665 Totally agree. No soul. It’s a little odd, because they’re simultaneously very quick, yet not at all exhilarating. Weird combo
was that the one they sent into space?
Unfortunately using this cars capabilities in Yorkshire in the corners is impossible as you will end up collecting several lycra loonies wandering around the road usually above the age of 50 trying to do their best to get replacement knees on the nhs

We went for carbon just because we didn’t want the round steering wheel with vorsprung. Lack on interior configuration is really disappointing and only red callipers on launch edition which you can’t buy?!?
@@olliejackson762 It's called RS sports exhaust system - Black (www.audi.co.uk/uk/web/en/models/a3/rs-3-sportback/equipment.html#layer=/uk/web/en/models/a3/rs-3-sportback.mediathek_infolayer.MAER0P8.html). It's a shame about limited interior options for UK buyers. Hopefully that will change in the future. Sure you'll enjoy the car regardless!
@@whatcar apologies I stand corrected! I can’t see them changing the config options for some time with rumours that vorsprungs have gone back to summer 2022. Perhaps they will offer different configs later in 2022
I had the previous version which did 0-62 in 3.7 seconds out of the box and sounded a whole lot better as it wasn't strangled by a particulate filter. Won't be getting this one. The DAZA engine in the outgoing car can easily and safely make around 500bhp/600nm with little more than an ECU tune and in that guise is more of a match for an R8 V10 than an A45S.
My golf r with a 600 dollar tune is faster.
Cant call a hot hatch with the price of it
Same price as the Mercedes and BMW.
Give me one
man, this guy has about as much personality and charisma as the turd I just dropped in the loo
