When you guys were on the wet track, I went an hour in the other direction in Greece away from the rain, to find some dry tarmac, and clocked the 3.1sec time (in my video) in a perfect launch and dry and clean distant road. Car did 3.1-3.3 seconds every time, so I guess your wet time makes sense. Cheers
I'm your local alloy wheel repair guy. Yes, those wheels are almost impossible to fix. A cnc won't be able to touch it so it'll be all hand work. All manufacturers are making their wheels harder to fix so people have to buy new ones if they want them 100% again.
American here, sorry. I've done over 50,000 wheels by hand. The designs are getting ridiculous even on basic cars. I can still make any wheel look great again. I can just no longer make them "factory" again.
I think more to the fact it forces people to get the alloys repaired from Audi themselves which is obviously more expensive so more money in their pockets 😅
@@bmf5420 Audi usually hired guys like me to fix their wheels. Sometime's they would have in-house repair but they were usually really bad quality. The Mercedes dealership I had worked for, for over 10 years was bought by Penske. They went in-house and their repairs were embarrassing. Mainly cause they didn't pay much to do good work.

That RS 3 looks like a great sleeper. I love the way it sounds, and the launch looks like something i'd be doing as often as I can... and don't let's forget some 'soft drifting'... Thanks Matt, you've sold me on this one.
Not really a sleeper when even an average joe can recognize that this car looks fast, especially with that sound. Even the previous gen was a head turner, speaking from experience.

@@mighty618 merc did 11.9 on fastestlaps so it's gonna be close but I think the RS3 will have it. The Merc's narrow power band is what affects its time, even though it may be more fun.
Rs3 is one of my fav cars. My dad modified a 2016 rs3 and took me for a ride, thats was an awesome experience for me... that car was stock but with a Miltek full system exhaust and the car put out 360 hp and 680 nm of torque, its was fast as heck

Traded in a 2016 SQ5 Plus for the RS3, went from ultimate cruiser to ultimate bruiser. Cornering and pull out of the corners amazing! True the AMG A45 has a little more power and slightly quicker in a straight line but cornering and breaking the Audi comes out on top.
Audi RS3 / TTRS has Rally Car DNA and is designed for ultimate performance around Europe/Alps/Various other mountains. So although it is quick around the track and 1/4 mile, when you go on a road trip you will see it come to life. I had a 2013 version, put Contact 6 Sport SP's on it and was 4 wheel drifting around mountain hairpins (not recommending or advising to do, but if your an advanced driver and have the skillset try if you wish). In terms of Tuning APR has the best off the shelf map, you probably do not need to do more than that if your buying the new RS3.
Been waiting all week for this! YES! I think Mat can get a better 0-60 MPH time in the RS3! Let’s wait until he launches it at the Carwow test base in the UK to see if he can go any faster! Cant wait for the drag races with this car!
I remember back in 2012 having the first RS3 tuned up to 425HP@550Nm doing 0-100 in 4s and 1/4 mile in 12,2s. It has always been a great car but the latest generation seems to be the best ever!
It would be pointless me contacting review my car, as Matt has already reviewed my current car in june/july of 2019. I watched that review video in March 2020. Then in September 2020 went to a dealership to see a couple of low mileage cars. The reg plate looked familiar on the car that I picked. Did a deal, then went home to rewatch Matt's review. Lo and behold, it was the same car! I almost cancelled the purchase since so many thousands of viewers had "virtually" been inside it. 🤣🤣 Stuck with the deal, it was valeted before delivery and smelt like new. So I'm happy with it.😄
A45s gang. Would be a great matchup 4 pot a45s vs 5 pot rs3 Vs 6 pot m2 cs. U can get 3.6s flat in stock a45s but the rs3 with 5 cylinder and bigger engine should be able to beat it, will be a close one!

I've got a black one. It's a great car. My only real complaint is the gear shifter, or lack thereof. If you own a car like this you always want to hear the sport exhaust, but the only way to do that is to put the transmission in sport mode. That leaves you riding around town at 4000 rpms. You can use the paddles to shift, but that doesn't work well around town. A proper gear shifter would fix all that.
Matt is the best reviewer. I like that he reviews all types of car and the best thing is the depth he goes through, the drive, practicality, good and bad.
For me the best hothatch ever. Good looking and agressive design, beautifull engine and sound, quicker than every other hothatch, good grip on every surfice and with that drift mode is fun to drive too. So, is perfect.
@@AKK5I the 128ti is actually quite the good hot hatch and a nice GTI rival :/ It's the sweet spot of the 1-Series line up. I actually prefer that they made it FWD to differentiate it from the 2 Series. However I wouldn't mind an M2 Shooting Brake ^^
Omg I’m selling my stage 2 S3 to buy one of these ASAP!!! I was going to do an RS5 but that sideways action combined with the tuning potential of this engine make this a better performing car than most super cars! Great review mat!
I've always liked the RS3 and found it a better choice than the A45 simply because the RS3 doesn't have a 4-cylinder! And now it's even better! Apart from the 5-cylinder, the RS Torque Splitter is yet another reason why I like the RS3 more! So yeah, the RS3 for me! 😎🤘🏁
Man they completely killed the sound on these newer cars. I'm finally in the position to afford a decent hot hatch or sports car and most of them sound trash. No choice but to buy an almost 4-year-old car.
As an owner from the previous one for 5 years now and ready to sell it to move one to something else, here is my opinion on the newer one which I test drove: first the sound, European rules made this one very quiet and to me it kills really a lot of the fun behind the wheel, then handeling: sure the car has improved, a lot actually, but fact is that the engine/gearbox layout makes it nose heavy and there is nothing engineers can really do about it, on a twisty road a Golf R with a smaller turbo and less weight up front will be faster and more fun to drive if it has the same Haldex generation. What made me happy with my RS3 was how special the engine sounds and on the new one it doesn't sound really that special from a 2.0l 4 cylinders
I really dislike the front end though, way too exaggerated everything. I personally prefer the subtle classiness of the previous model, especially the sedan variant.
Can't wait to see this against A45s. Also, 2 other of Matt videos, with his specialist timing gear, both show the A45s 1/4 mile at 11.96s - Not sure why 12.1s is always the minimum 1/4 for A45s. Should be interesting though.
Lovely car, did own a 2017 model for a time. But its expensive driving here. (netherlands) Now driving a 2020 TT, its reduced monthly costs around 150 - 175 euro's. Insurance wanted a gps tracker in the rs so it cost me 25 euro per month extra on top of the more expensive insurance. Then taxes (its based on weight and amount of polution) and fuel use. Now fuel prices are going up fast it would even be a bigger difference. My car now has only 190 hp, but i love it. Speed comes at a price.

If I were to go for an AWD car, this would be it. Great car, and it looks really good. With that said, nothing beats the fun of driving a RWD, not even close.

I remember back in 2012 having the first RS3 tuned up to 425HP@550Nm doing 0-100 in 4s and 1/4 mile in 12,2s. It has always been a great car but the latest generation seems to be the best ever!

It would be pointless me contacting review my car, as Matt has already reviewed my current car in june/july of 2019. I watched that review video in March 2020.
Then in September 2020 went to a dealership to see a couple of low mileage cars. The reg plate looked familiar on the car that I picked. Did a deal, then went home to rewatch Matt's review. Lo and behold, it was the same car! I almost cancelled the purchase since so many thousands of viewers had "virtually" been inside it. 🤣🤣
Stuck with the deal, it was valeted before delivery and smelt like new. So I'm happy with it.😄
A45s gang. Would be a great matchup 4 pot a45s vs 5 pot rs3 Vs 6 pot m2 cs. U can get 3.6s flat in stock a45s but the rs3 with 5 cylinder and bigger engine should be able to beat it, will be a close one!

Honestly the bmw doesn't have a chance here. The old rs3 sedan made the 0 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. Look for car and driver instrumented test
Not really. I traded in an M2 Competition for the new RS3 and the RS3 is faster than that. It would eat the M240i for breakfast.

I've got a black one. It's a great car. My only real complaint is the gear shifter, or lack thereof. If you own a car like this you always want to hear the sport exhaust, but the only way to do that is to put the transmission in sport mode. That leaves you riding around town at 4000 rpms. You can use the paddles to shift, but that doesn't work well around town. A proper gear shifter would fix all that.

Good looking and agressive design, beautifull engine and sound, quicker than every other hothatch, good grip on every surfice and with that drift mode is fun to drive too. So, is perfect.
Don't forget to mention the hard scratchy interior plastics. Not to mention Audis penchant for piano black console. Audi just cannot let it go.

I've always liked the RS3 and found it a better choice than the A45 simply because the RS3 doesn't have a 4-cylinder! And now it's even better! Apart from the 5-cylinder, the RS Torque Splitter is yet another reason why I like the RS3 more!

As an owner from the previous one for 5 years now and ready to sell it to move one to something else, here is my opinion on the newer one which I test drove: first the sound, European rules made this one very quiet and to me it kills really a lot of the fun behind the wheel, then handeling: sure the car has improved, a lot actually, but fact is that the engine/gearbox layout makes it nose heavy and there is nothing engineers can really do about it, on a twisty road a Golf R with a smaller turbo and less weight up front will be faster and more fun to drive if it has the same Haldex generation. What made me happy with my RS3 was how special the engine sounds and on the new one it doesn't sound really that special from a 2.0l 4 cylinders

I really dislike the front end though, way too exaggerated everything. I personally prefer the subtle classiness of the previous model, especially the sedan variant.
Can't wait to see this against A45s. Also, 2 other of Matt videos, with his specialist timing gear, both show the A45s 1/4 mile at 11.96s - Not sure why 12.1s is always the minimum 1/4 for A45s. Should be interesting though.

Lovely car, did own a 2017 model for a time.
But its expensive driving here. (netherlands)
Now driving a 2020 TT, its reduced monthly costs around 150 - 175 euro's.
Insurance wanted a gps tracker in the rs so it cost me 25 euro per month extra on top of the more expensive insurance.
Then taxes (its based on weight and amount of polution) and fuel use.
Now fuel prices are going up fast it would even be a bigger difference.
My car now has only 190 hp, but i love it. Speed comes at a price.

If I were to go for an AWD car, this would be it. Great car, and it looks really good. With that said, nothing beats the fun of driving a RWD, not even close.
