Hey, great video! As someone who’s new to the SXS stuff, I’ve really enjoyed the videos you put out! One thing to keep in mind with wiring gauge, if you go thinner on the wire you want to make sure to calculate wire length, amperage and wire gauge. Too much amperage for a given length of wire will cause the wire to heat up and can be an issue. With the 5A fuse, I’m sure you’ll be fine - but I would double check and make sure that the fuse is the weakest link (in terms of amperage) and not the wire itself, otherwise the wire will burn up before that fuse ever blows. Nonetheless, I’m sure 18G wire is fine for this length at under 5A. Looking forward to more videos!
U are absolutely right. But this video would me 10 mins longer trying to explain amperage draw to correct guage wire and fuse. .. 5 amp is definitely safe for 18guage wire at 12v
Is there other title connector boxes available install that one the openings are too small won’t let my rocker switch go into them. Appreciate the info on the terminal connectors though way better than butt connectors.
Just 1 question... did you leave out the wiring that came with the light because of that relay?... mine has a relay like that and i think when used with the ugly switch it won't turn the light back on right away if it's hot/been on already

Nice video, but one question. With all the accessories you have why 'you install a fuse block and relay switch to help protect everything. I only ask because I am trying to figure out how I should do wiring for light bar and USB port. I also have angle eye headlights and a chase light on a 202 polaris RZR 900. I am confused as to when to install a fuse block and relay. Thanks
The power coming out of the switchs can directly power low amp draw items like rock lights, dome lights, whips.. on higher draw lights like light bars, pods, air pumper, soundbar. The power coming out of these switchs can be used as a (control circuit) to control a relay for those higher draw applications. Ur angle eyes can be directly powered as well as the usb port.. but the light bar should have a relay for the higher output. Although some of these switches are rated for 20-25amps. I wouldnt trust in them to carry that kinda of power and also the wire guage i show in this video is not sufficient for high draw applications
So the blue or white trigger wire would use a butt connector to the power wire coming from the whip… and the other wire coming from the whip also goes to the neutral on the buss bar?
Personally I like to use midi fuse's over spade fuses there much more reliable, the only down side is they are more expensive but in the end spending a little more money on a fuse is worth it.
Clean homie.. i use the second battery kit so all my accessories go the the second battery terminal so means I cant jump the accessories to power otherwise the light would never turn off so i guess ill have to run a separate wire from stock bus block accessorie?
hello, very helpful video, so i have question and hope you can help how would u wire lights that have hi & low lights to one switch ( on-off-on). hope this make sense
I have 2 small LED lights on the frt of my Polaris currently on a 3 prong switch such as you showed early on in your vid. Can I use these 5 prong switches to light the LED's without a relay. I had to use a relay on the Reverse LED's due to the lights still on dimly when the SxS was running. This is due to the SxS supplying constant power on the reverse circuit and it's a switched ground. I could put it on the keyed circuit but you'd need to have the key on to use, since I don't have an accessory setting on my Ignition I have to have the bike on the run position which causes the injectors to cycle etc which can be harmful if done too many times.
They are rated for 20amp. So potentially yes you can. As long as you leds dont draw over that. I would say that you will have to use thicker guage wiring tho if you will be directly powering led pods.
Your local to me bro , and I always see you out at Johnson valley , anyway , I have all the lights for my x3 mounted , I just need them wired in etc , do you do wiring and how much ? I need done ASAP
Very informative...quick question. I have 4 sets of led lights each pulling no more than 3.4 amps x 4 = 13.6amps combine...what is the best way to run these to one switch or separate switch and using an 20amp in line fuse holder. Thanks.
@@GLifeUTV LEd underglow lights, interior, and engine/Grill LEd lights. Can these be run into one rocker switch 20amp 12V ...also the in line fuse holder will have a 20 amp fuse...they are not pods
Well the switchs are rated for 20amp. But the guage of wire im using in the video is small. So u can Probably fo 16guage wire and power the leds thru the switch
I wired my lights the exact same on my 21 rc turbo rr and i can only get them to turn on the vehicle is running. You hooked them up to the accessory also but everything is light up without the unit running. Is their an accessory mode in the vehicle other than run?
I have another switch on my personal x3. Thats why that look different. Did not mention that in this video because it can drain the battery... ..also with the key in the car.. u can short press it and it will stay on for a bit
How do I get my switch power to only be activated when I turn the key to acc or on? I installed a light, but it can turn on /off without keys. I’m worried my kids will mess with my lights when I’m not around and drain the battery
Hey brother I saw your video on the switch pros it was dope but I ain't got those deep pockets like CJ. I saw a generic veresion on Amazon it had good reviews for like 150.00. Do you have any thoughts.
If you are talking about the aux beam version.. there are many things i didn't like about it.. i would save up for the 8 switch. Its worth it over the aux beam
I have a rough country light bar that has a day time running light and a normal light. Going to the switch (which has the option to turn on the amber, torn off, and turn on the light bar) there is a White, Red and Blue cable. Does anyone know what color is what cable?
Hooking up lights and the have 2 wires one is the trigger wire and what would you do with the other one ? Would that be the ground wire or just leave it off.
What are u hooking up? The "trigger" wire can directly power low draw items like whips, rock lights, and chase light.. for high output pods and light bars. The "trigger" wire controls the relay for i.e. a light bar harness. th-cam.com/video/3c7um1l_dFw/w-d-xo.html in this video i show how i wired my light pods and how they attached to the trigger/control circuit.
@@GLifeUTV I followed video which is great. So the lights came with two wires one red and other black. So from switch I would connect to red but would I ground the black wire ?
Damm frank that was a great detailed video but you made it seem so easy. Do you work on customers cars if so I live in San Fernando valley in so California I’d be honored to have my lights done by you

Looking for some help on connecting a 5 pin rocker switch (from NILIGHT) to a 6 pin rocker switch that came with XPRITE chase bar ( the chase bar has a 3 mode switch. ON/OFF/MODES to change the pattern of the chase bar light. I have the NILIGHT 2 gang rocker switch
Nice job explaining thanks
Any recommendations on how to hook up a whip light to 8 rock lights that I only use 4 of the lights. I'm trying to run them both off the same app.
U should of run 5150 187 whips with 5150 187 rock lights . Sync together
Hi great video! Can you possibly give a link to the open barrel crimps that clip into the switch block/base? I can’t seem to find them! Thanks!

Badass work my bru. Thanks for the info

@@GLifeUTV Thanks Frank!!
So the blue or white trigger wire would use a butt connector to the power wire coming from the whip… and the other wire coming from the whip also goes to the neutral on the buss bar?
Yes for a low draw device like a whip u could directly power the whip. And the negative from the whip would go to ground
Personally I like to use midi fuse's over spade fuses there much more reliable, the only down side is they are more expensive but in the end spending a little more money on a fuse is worth it.
I agree with that🍻
Clean homie.. i use the second battery kit so all my accessories go the the second battery terminal so means I cant jump the accessories to power otherwise the light would never turn off so i guess ill have to run a separate wire from stock bus block accessorie?
hard to answer ur question bro. id have to look at ur setup
Why did you use 18 gauge if the connectors take the 14 gauge? You just went with a smaller size wire. Wouldn’t the 14 gauge still be good?
Another great diy video bro !!! You’re the shiit, thank you !! 🤙🏽
🤜🤛🤟
How would you wire a relay into this setup? Do you have a wire diagram to share?
i dont currently. i may do a followup to this video
If u ever get the chance you should make a video how to wire a harness with switch using the xp pro plus bar plugs 🤞
Yea. Maybe in the future
Would really like seeing you wire from a Polaris Pulse Bar.
I’m gunna have to follow you, pretty good videos.
🤙🤙
At the time this video was posted. Was your setup running on the stock battery or did you ever upgraded?
I already had a ft560 big battery at this point if i remember correctly
hello, very helpful video, so i have question and hope you can help how would u wire lights that have hi & low lights to one switch ( on-off-on). hope this make sense
I havnt done many, I only now do switchpros.. Its an expensive component but so much less wiring. more reliable and works amazing
@@GLifeUTV Thank you
Thx bro! great video.
Thanks
Frank is a beast 💪🏼👌🏼 good video bro !
🍻
Your local to me bro , and I always see you out at Johnson valley , anyway , I have all the lights for my x3 mounted , I just need them wired in etc , do you do wiring and how much ? I need done ASAP
I do, send me a dm on instagram
Very informative...quick question. I have 4 sets of led lights each pulling no more than 3.4 amps x 4 = 13.6amps combine...what is the best way to run these to one switch or separate switch and using an 20amp in line fuse holder. Thanks.
3.4 amps? Are these led pods. If so the trigger wire coming off these switchs can be used to trigger a conventional relay harness to power led pods
@@GLifeUTV yes I'm using a 14g wire...
Can you provide a link to where I can find the Can Am rocker switches for the whip lights?
www.ebay.com/itm/111746656048?hash=item1a049ea730:g:uVkAAOSw441bFN84
I'm not finding all of the can am oem amber style switches on amazon. Where did you get yours?
Ebay bro.. type in amber can am switch
Its on this video. U wire to the accessory post on the can am power distribution.
@@GLifeUTV I have a can am defender. I don’t know where the accessory connection is. I only see a positive and negative on the buss bar
Really good job where did you buy the switch in the block and the crimper from
Alot of products from Amazon. Check the links in the description box👍
@@GLifeUTV ty boss
Hey man what if I want to wire to my pulse bar Polaris could you explain a little better?!
Currently don't have a video on wiring with pulse bar
Use a 12v battery to find the wire u are looking for
Awesome ❗️😎
@@lloydhovelmann4719 black goes to ground. But like i said its for low amp lights.. high draw lights need to have a relayed harness
@@GLifeUTV thanks
Damm frank that was a great detailed video but you made it seem so easy. Do you work on customers cars if so I live in San Fernando valley in so California I’d be honored to have my lights done by you
I havnt tooken any work for a few months.. been very busy. But thank you🤙
Is it just me or did I see smoke off the battery at the 14:41 mark.
Just a dirty lens
Can you have the power to accessory as constant but have it wired for lights on the switch to key power?
Yea u can probably do that. So they still work??
