    So glad you had the common sense to stop riding and investigate. I think thread-lock and torque settings are a must. These machines have been engineered this way for a reason. Another good lesson learned. Thanks for the video! Happy scootering! 🛵👍

    You have demonstrated that common sense prevails! Knowing the noises is good, and picking up on them important. Good learning curve, keep the video's coming!!..

    Flipping heck mucker, that was a close call. Glad you didn't come off the scooter mate 👍. We have all got things wrong at some point trying to do things ourselves, but at least you have not been hurt and the GT all good 👍. Keep at it matey, and stay safe. 🛵😉

    When replacing nuts there is something called nyloc nuts there got nylon inside the thread stopped them vibrating off.
    The down side you need to put new ones when you take them.
    They are not to expensively priced

    Customer was over the moon with how quiet and smooth the car was until it went bang !

    The clutch bell might've lost enough material to weaken it?

    • @RoyalAlloyRider
      @RoyalAlloyRider  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It literally just looks lightly scratched. Most of the damage is in the CVT housing. I think the clutch bell is definitely made of sterner stuff. Thanks for watching and thank you for your concern.👍

  • @cayminlast

    Good call investigating the strange noise, glad you're okay. I would call it the case of 'a loose nut behind the wheel'.

    Glad your OK mate blue locktight every time a take out the transmission. Both nut's .
    Had something similar but it was the variater nut. If you can't the torque setting use the torque gun but don't go mad.

    You mean that such an important nut has no securing system, like a second lock nut or even a small hole through the shaft for the split pin ect, seems like an over sight to me, but still well spotted sir!

    • @RoyalAlloyRider
      @RoyalAlloyRider  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I thought a second locking nut would be a good idea too. Thanks for watching Kevin. 👍

    • @mikew6922
      @mikew6922 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thinking the same thing. Think I’d be putting a second nut on and reverse tightening it, they have them on push bike wheels. Or are we missing something??? Great little vid though !

  • @kevindarkstar
    @kevindarkstar ปีที่แล้ว

    While this is understandable its actually a pretty common thing with complete novice when trying to work on a vehicle they know little about, I've seen a few similar stories like this, it's a learning curve, but this sort of mistake could have been expensive or deadly!

    i watched your belt change video and you did nhat nut up wih a battery rachett drill and it didnt click like it was racheting up the nut, so I imeadiately thought thats not done up properly and in the abscense of a Torque wrench being used it seemed even worse and I thought to myseklf oh well hell soon find out wont he.

      Another good tip is to replace the nuts with nyloc nuts. They have a nylon insert which stops the nut coming off. One time use only though.
