  • I installed 10 gram Dr Pulley Sliders in my Royal Alloy GT125 (euro 4, 2019 model). But did it make any difference? Please feel free to comment with your experience of sliders and rollers. Thanks for watching.

    Also, regulations all considered the royal alloy designers know more than we do. Why should we second guess them? Love your honest unbiased vids sir.

    Hello fella, I did hear that the other way to increase or decrease the gear ration is to alter the rear cogs on the drive shaft on the rear wheel. Not seen any videos on it and it would be a major job as well as some Rachel Riley calcs to get it right. I did an upgrade on my vespa to a 177 barrel and piston with a bigger carb but its a manual geared scoot so not sure if that change would be good for an auto. I'm still running mine in and only getting 45-50mph as cant go past 1/4 throttle for another 100 miles. Looking forward to the day I can open her up. Mod 1 also passed on the only dry day for weeks with no minors and got Mod 2 in a few weeks. Keep the vids coming mate really enjoying them, Ride safe.👍

      @@RoyalAlloyRider No problem at all. Your videos are good buddy. I thought you knew a thing or two. To say you've said that you don't, you're doing good mate. And yes it's just a scooter for now to get me by until I can afford a better scooter. But, it's quite decent tbh, has a full years MOT & lots of potential. I'm going to be doing quite a bit more work on it & hopefully it'll look a lot bet in 5-6 weeks time. It's a great runner tbh & is going to get me by for the next year or two. It's not the first bike I've worked on so I know a few bits.. But, it seems you're getting to know your way around your scooter. Good on you dude. I'll watch your latest video properly tomorrow. Just watched this fully now. Obviously there wasn't a huge difference, but if it now runs a bit smoother with the new pulleys then that's the main thing I guess. Only other option for a little more pull & a few extra MPH top end is to add a little big bore kit, 150cc. I think quite a few people do that to be honest.

    Hello if you dont already own a cordless impact wrench.or anyone else reading this.if you want to undo your variator or wheels nuts you will need the wrench from lidi from tomorrow 3 march £59.99 I know its not cheap but its a good bit of kit.and will save you money in the long run. But I would advise you use a torque wrench to do the bolts back up.

    They are all sliders. Even the round "rollers" don't actually roll in operation, they slide, which is why they develop flat spots. Whether you get any real improvement with the DR Pulley sliders depends on several factors, but they don't actually operate in a different way. It's just that the sliders are designed to slide and the "rollers" aren't.

    Bloody el. I was as disappointed as you were with the Dr Pulleys. I’ve heard nowt but good things about them. Maybe a more racy variator would be needed to compliment the pulleys? Another good vid all the same though pal. 👍

      Hi Tony yes mate I'm sure if I'd been on 14g or 12g rollers previously I'd have been impressed with the difference. I wrongly assumed my existing ones were heavier than 10g, - should prob have weighed em first 🙄 never believe what you read on tinterweb 🙄🤣!! (Unless previous owner did upgrade them to 10g ?🤔)

    • @RoyalAlloyRider
      @RoyalAlloyRider  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tonye7509 from what I've read and watched you only get the extra oomph from the tasso exhaust or any performance exhaust if you also switch to a pod air filter, and for that to work you also need the ECU remap I believe, otherwise the fuel injection to air ratio is wrong. At least thats how I understand it so far. And that's not to mention a new variator and clutch spring. It gets messy ! I'm planning on a bit more tinkering soon though😁👍🏻

    Hell mucker. Shame about the sliders. I reckon you should try 8g sliders, this will I think give you the extra take off power. I have looked at a few videos of roller/ slider changing and they all seem to have better acceleration, but then it takes a bit longer for top speed. This would be good for two up or pulling up the hills. Some people say they lose a bit of top speed due to the revs hitting the restriction before its reached top speed limits. I think the Milano is fitted with 11g in the factory. At the end of the day we ride 125cc air cooled scooter with 9.5 bhp. I would like to know how the GP 125cc liquid cooled scooter proforms with its 14bhp. Do you know anyone that owns one or the TG 125cc liquid cooled. 🤔

    • @RoyalAlloyRider
      @RoyalAlloyRider  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea that's a big difference in hp just for being liquid cooled !! Would be I interesting to see ! I'll try and little lighter. I just wrongly assumed that the existing rollers were 14g or 12g, I should have weighed them first before ordering the sliders 🙄. Cheers mate

    i read that11grm was a better weight for slight gains. except for the cone filters and exaust mine is still factory from new. mine tops out at 8000 revs and when it hits that after a couple of mins the speed drops back about 5mph your top speed is better than mine i can get 60 just about and sat nav says thats really 56mph. mind you i an 19and half stone..again look at stevie dub dub on YT he changes his rollers..on his alloy 125.

    I'm loving my 125. I've done all the mods on cars in the past - exhaust, air filter kits etc. The best you ever get is more noise - and that's all I've ever asked for. I've had Impreza , elises and lotus seven 7 style kit cars. They're made for speed.. SCOOTERS ARE NOT. Besides how many fast lambos and Ferraris have you seen? Not many. People cant admire it if it's a ticket inducing blur!😊
