    Hey mate another great idea of yours. Love your thinking to twin cam solutions on the cheaper side 👍 are you still running your external breather?

      Yep still working. Tends to get emptied every 4000 kms or so. It isn't full but whenever i am under the bike checking things its easy enough to whip the screw out and drain the engine snot that is there. Mainly water and a little emulsified oil. Thanks for watching!

    Man your brave with that Plastic Line,, Have you redone it yet or is it still workin and hasn't melted?

      Been fine so far. Only done about 2000 kms on it so far but its been through rain , heat and 2 washes and I have stared at it viciously. I think that heat wrap stuff is working its magic though. No way would I have considered the plastic stuff without it. Thanks for watching!

    I can't really tell what you did where the oil pressure sensor was? What happens to stock wires/set up?

      So the gauge is a mechanical gauge ( no electrical connections ) . It utilises a T piece from where the oil pressure sender is usually installed. I now have a tube that feeds oil directly to the gauge + the original electrical sender unit. From a modification point of view the harley has an extra T piece added. No change to the stock wires. The oil light on the gauge cluster still lights and would indicate a problem as before, the gauge lets me check it at start and during the ride and gives me more information than just " your bike is about to die shut off now or bad things can happen ". Hope this helps.

      @@theobviouschicken Would you happen to know the dia. Of the threads and length of the adapter? Thank You Sir!

      @@gypsywolffenrir9098 yes it is called " Aeroflow AFGA-32 Oil Pressure Gauge 1/4 Adaptor Can Use For Pro Lite " it's description says " These adapters allow you to add an electric oil pressure gauge while still retaining the stock warning light or gauge. The adapters are 2-1/2" long and fit inline between the engine and the stock oil pressure switch and have a 1/8"-27 NPT port on the side to suit all types of aftermarket applications like Pro-Lites or Turbos etc."
      Basically undo the stock electric sender - install adaptor - install the stock sender into the end port - in the new extra NPT port set up the gauge sender. It works on twincams in dyna's. Softails have a different frame and it might not work there due to length ? . Hope this helps.

      @@theobviouschicken Thanks again! I love the idea and fact that it is lower and not going to rub on my leg all day! Keep her shiny side up my friend!

    I run a EVO and I cut the rubber tit off the gauge, it sits horizonal so I can see the numbers no oil spillage at all . your mounting the gauge the same way horizonal . it work off atmospheric pressure that is why you cut it off .

      We're coming into winter and I might revisit cutting off the nipple if it fogs up. during the heat of the tropic summer here it was ok. Im not the sharpest tool in the shed. See a hole under the level of the oil in the gauge expect oil to leak out of it. Will order another before doing so as I rely on the gauge more than I thought. Thanks for commenting.

      @@theobviouschicken It will be fine mine has never had a leak , my grandson was climbing on the bike age 4 and broke the lens that made it leak , i had to get a new one.

      reckon I might still leave it on. Too many reports of leaking out. Admittedly on the arlen ness ones which are mounted where the vibration is the worst but had a look today that oil will leak as sure as my mum called be obvious. 👍

    Ah shit yeah, im going to mount the gage the same way. But using copper line instead

    • @theobviouschicken
      @theobviouschicken  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was going to but the copper line was Way too long and I lack the skills to braize a flare onto cut copper line. So far its held up good. just ticked over 4000 kms and still working no leaks. Only issue is constantly looking at it when on the bike makes you look like you are looking at your nutsack all the time :D
