@@CarlRecktenwaldJr I’m so old school I want a big dial tach above the digital instruments flanked by small oil temp n pressure gauges. I bet if I could find a couple transducers to screw into those bosses I could do it pretty easily. (Off to scrounge the parts catalogs:-) )
I tried 2 Arlen ness oil gages , the bengals both cracked all the way across.I believe they can’t take the heat off the engine! BUT,,, they didn’t leak oil.
Hi, looks pretty good. Would help to know the thread dimensions & length of the bolt you change on the motor block/oil output on the motorside. / It is an adapter from 1/8NPT or 1/4 NPT to Dash 4 ??? Many thanks and nice greetings from Germany.
Any idea what size diameter is the oil line? I want to make my own bracket in a different location. I ordered the gauge, just need to order the oil line and fittings. Any idea on the fittings sizes? Thanks in advance!
I made my own. Just added a spal fan with custom brackets. Can see that a 300 one from Harley is worth it. Mine is basically the same thing minus the fan shroud. The issue is that you have to have the ecm activated by Harley. So every time I flash a new tune I loose the fan.
Carl Recktenwald Jr. wow did not know that the fan configuration changes with a tune. I have tuned mine with screaming eagle 🦅 so will head back to dealer to make sure the fan is enabled . Thanks so much for the reply, enjoy the Road King 👑!
At cold start up idle its around 40psi. Hot idle it drops to about 10 to 15psi. I will have to check crusing dont remember what it was. I am running Amsoil.
@@CarlRecktenwaldJr OK, thanks for the quick reply, I also have a 2017 RGS with the 107 with just under 10k miles. Is the fitting you took out a tapered pipe thread? I don't want to mess with the sending unit, it has a special non-tapered thread, just as soon leave it alone. I would just like to check my oil pressure, if it's as good as yours, I'll be happy.
@@CarlRecktenwaldJr Hi again, thanks to your video I made up my own gauge with 1/4 inch fuel line, a 1/4 pipe fitting with a hose barb, to another hose barb, an old air gauge taped to my crashbar and VOILA! 50 lbs cold at idle! Not the prettiest thing but I just lean forward a bit and I can see it while jammin! Cost? $00.00! At least I feel better knowing she's pumping. Thanks again and ride safe!
I would have cut that bracket and secure with 1 bolt before I ever would have cut a guard. That just seems tacky to me to be honest but hey.... to each their own
Man I can’t get that Allen bolt or screw broke lose on the engine I got a 1/4 3/8 drive on it I don’t want to break the case and you broke it loose with a hand Allen wrench ?
I have a 2018 road glide. I’m wanting to put a digital Dakota universal oil pressure and temp gauge in but they say no. I see what your doing and think yes but not sure how to make it happen and how to tap into the right place and get right sending unit to use to get a PSI reading from it.

Sounds like an awesome mode. Really useful. I’d love an oil pressure on one side an oil temp on the other. :-)
A dual purpose gauge would be awesome.

Daytona digital has a gauge that has optional sender units. Gauge is like 400 bucks and sensor are like 100. Little pricey for me.

Nice job. Would help to know the thread dimensions & length of the bolt you used on the remount of your air deflector.
Believe there are 1/4-20 x 3/4

No issues with my A1. As of yet.

Part number is 10176 from vibrant. It’s a -3an to 1/4”npt.
I believe the hose is the -3 and the block is 1/4”.

just the video i needed. thank you!!
looks like a good job
Thanks
Wondering if vibration has affected the calibration on the needle.
Not sure. They are liquid filled.

The adapter packages reads. -3an to 1/4” npt. So block must be 1/4 and the gauge is -3an. Part number 10176 from vibrant. Also a number of 03-2019.
Appreciate the video! Have you considered installing a fan assisted oil cooler or does your cooler already have the fan option?
Thanks

Maybe the Harley turner does not change the fan config. Not sure. Hopefully PV can figure out the option and we can do it in the tune.
Why they dont include this simple feature boggles my mind.
Not sure why they don’t add a sender and tie it into the gauge.
Cheapest product at the most expensive price. Name of their game.
Do you need to drain your oil first?
No
Does the gauge rub your thigh when you ride? Thanks
Yes. Alittle. I don’t really notice it though.
Hi, just wondering what the reading is at idle at operating temp, and cruising at 2500 rpm? thanks.

No it was a regular end plug. 1/4” 10176 from vibrant performance is the adapter part number.

how long is the oil line
I am guessing about 18 inches.
Will this retain all oem oil pressure lights on the dash?
Yes. We are installing the pressure gauge in a unused oil port and leave the OE sensor in place.
Thank you so much. Everything comes with the a1 Guage kit?
Yes.
Looked good until the cut on the heat deflector. That’s something I do, when I don’t have a plan.
Yeah. It looks terrible. No plan was right.
Rocker Covers???
Not sure what you mean??

I agree, I don’t like the look of that guard being cut. Especially since the cut looks like crap. I am going to run it without the air deflector.
Cheaper to cut plastic than the bracket 👍
Yup. And that fact that I messed it up cheaper to get another 12 set of air deflectors.

Lock tite. Might try to warm the engine up first and then try to break it loose.

How big is the sending unit. You should be able to use the same port I did and route up to your gauge.
@@CarlRecktenwaldJr I’m wanting to run a digital or digital/anolog gauge up in the fairing for both temp and pressure
Probably will just need an adapter to go from the hole size in the block to the size of your sending unit.
Did you find a suitable adapter? I'm wanting to add Dakota gauges too.
How big( diameter ) is the gauge itself
If I remember correctly it a 1 1/2 inch gauge.
