This is an incredible video. So great to actually see some of the things you hear about, learn some things you didn’t know and learn it all in real time. Thank you for doing this!!!
Best few hundred bucks I ever spent in Vegas was driving a few laps in the 430 Scud at Dream Racing. A true race car! The ceramic brakes are unreal. Learned a ton about the car just now years later. Great content!
Great video - reminds me of the Curated videos about the details of the Diablo versions… except it's even more detailed than that! (random story time: I'm the person who bought the 456 from Hoovie after he bought it back from you. Spoiler alert: it's not been great.)
Nice job on the deep dive. Much better than others I've seen. I even had to go and see if my Scud had some of the features you mentioned, that I had not noticed. lol Anyway, the Scud portion was of the most interest to me and I think very well done. You know your shit! When I bought my Scud I had three different inspections done. Two were generic import (Ferrari/Lambo) auto service shops where the car was located (back east), and one was at a very well known, long-time local California Ferrari/Lambo/Alfa shop after the car arrived here I California. All gave it a clean bill of health but the Ferrari shop didn't seem as knowledgable about the Scud. They mentioned the SF2 tranny and special engine, but not much else like the suspension using titanium springs, the titanium wheel lug bolts and I believe the rims are magnisium. I suppose they don't see too many Scuds. Thanks for doing the review, very interesting and always good to learn a little more about these special cars!
Excellent video. I like the way you explain the value differences at the end for various individual options. BAT commenters drive me nuts. They only ever ask about sticky buttons and clutch wear like a broken worthless record. There is so much more. Again, great video!
Great video. I’m curious. You seem to be buying and selling more F430’s than 360’s. Is it because the 430 is newer and may have less issues. I’m partial to the 360 looks but the F430 is more appealing because use its newer.
Awesome side-by-side comparison video! I knew the Scud had different side skirts, but your video really shows what that difference is. Been watching your videos since you very first started the channel, cool to learn new things! Do the Coupe versions have better headroom and visibility through the windshield than a spider (with the top up)?
@@normalguysupercar thanks for the response now I'm torn between a 488 or a 458. which one would you choose? I like the 458 because of the sound, but the 488 is faster. also out of the 2 which one would require less maintenance?
Great video. There are also the “base” seats that have alternating stitching going across the seats. They are not nearly as nice looking as the Daytona seats.
That certainly was a deep dive, and its information overload unless you are truly a Ferrari aficionado. The world of Ferrari and its prices are very interesting.
So at 17:18, that window from three engine to the driver, can you smell fuel, or whatever.? It must be extremely loud yes? That giant engine is right there correct? I wish I could sit in it
2 things: 1) isn't the carbon dash inser, carbon paddles, and carbon steering wheel part of the "upper carbon driving zone" option? 2) I vaguely remember the rear Challenge grill only being optioned on 2007 and later cars. Or am I mistaken on this?
Very informative video, especially the breakdown of values and premiums. Maybe it’s just me, but why does it seem like the quality of the interior bits on these vehicles deteriorates very poorly as they go up in mileage and age? Obviously all leather and touch points show signs of use the more you use them, but it seems hastened in the F430 models compared to the 458 models.
@@normalguysupercar yeah, I’m sorry I ask stupid questions. I’ve returned to Indiana university, where I went to school to retire and health issues , at 58 are ongoing. Certainly no Ferrari’s here . Give Moe a hug from me ❤️
You missed some of the later 430 interior options that are the same as the scud like the carbon door sills and you could get the 2008/2009 with a Bose sound system.
@@normalguysupercar I know but you went into details on the center consoles which most people don’t know. Figured you’d cover the 3 different types of door sills including carbon and mention the other interior carbon options. Great video, more details in one place than anyone else has put together. You and Josh are the 430 whisperers.
Long time subscriber….your videos prompted me to purchase a 2008 F430. Keep up the good work.
Nice ! Enjoy it
Awesome! I love hearing that
me too!!!
Any 2007 430 built after August 2007 had the 2008 updates, but Ferrari uses the year the car was produced.
F430 owner here as well, learned many new things today, thank you!
Glad to help
Scuderia my all time favourite Ferrari. I need one badly.
We all do!
This is an incredible video. So great to actually see some of the things you hear about, learn some things you didn’t know and learn it all in real time. Thank you for doing this!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I too bought a f430 because of you. I pd 119k + sales tax in mid 2017.A lot of Ferrari for the money in my humble opinion.
I think so!
I have a 2009 F430 spider. I learn something new with every new video. Thanks Dan
You're welcome
Excellent video… thank you for putting this together. 👍
You're welcome!

Oh yeah, I've done those track experience things and they are well worth the money.
Josh’s car is perfect, my dream spec and mods
It's pretty damn nice
Awesome job Dan explaining all the various options and details! The scud is my favorite.
Right on!
very nice I didn't realize there was so many variations
Yeah it's nice quite as many variations as later cars but still
Great Video
I missed a low mileage 07 with 8000km
Ceramics and yellow daytona inserts what a car.
I learned alot today so thx Dan!
Glad it helped!
I also bought f430 because of you
Awesome! Hopefully you're loving it
Thanks for the details Dan. Wish I had pulled the trigger on a 430 or 458 4-5 years ago. A 430 with your gated manual is on my wish list :)
We can certainly make that happen

Than you very much
DAAAAAAAAAAAN the rebuilt title killed my heart!
It happens. If you get over that, it's probably the best deal on a Scud just about ever.
The thing that collects the air before the heads is called the intake plenum
Great overview!
Yes plenum. I couldn't think of the word on the spot
Excellent video. I like the way you explain the value differences at the end for various individual options. BAT commenters drive me nuts. They only ever ask about sticky buttons and clutch wear like a broken worthless record. There is so much more.
Again, great video!
The clutch wear is hilarious. Everyone is all like oh no it's 60% worn, better replace the clutch! Lol morons.
Great video. I’m curious. You seem to be buying and selling more F430’s than 360’s. Is it because the 430 is newer and may have less issues. I’m partial to the 360 looks but the F430 is more appealing because use its newer.
There's a few reasons. Partly because we can make more money converting them than the 360. But yes, they are more reliable as well
Very good example of all of variations!
Thank you
Your channel is by far my favorite ❤❤❤❤ Arthur
Thank you very much! We appreciate it
That blue one is beautiful! Hopefully I can win the lottery before you sell it.
Hate to smash your dreams but we already have a deposit on it.
GLWS, I will have one someday.

Do the Coupe versions have better headroom and visibility through the windshield than a spider (with the top up)?
The windshield position is the same but the coupe you can move the seat a little further back so that may change your head position
That’s a great looking blue on the spyder
Yes it is
for less maintenance, which one would you prefer a f430 or a 458 italia?
The 458 is gonna be less maintenance
@@normalguysupercar thanks for the response now I'm torn between a 488 or a 458. which one would you choose? I like the 458 because of the sound, but the 488 is faster. also out of the 2 which one would require less maintenance?

Have great day, Arthur ❤
Thank you!
So at 17:18, that window from three engine to the driver, can you smell fuel, or whatever.? It must be extremely loud yes? That giant engine is right there correct? I wish I could sit in it
You can't generally smell anything. It is louder than a coupe for sure but it's not that loud
This was the poster car on my wall when I grew up.
Heck yeah!
2 things: 1) isn't the carbon dash inser, carbon paddles, and carbon steering wheel part of the "upper carbon driving zone" option? 2) I vaguely remember the rear Challenge grill only being optioned on 2007 and later cars. Or am I mistaken on this?
I've heard it was only available 07 and later as well but I'm not certain on this.
Is it true that the carbon ceramic brakes don’t generate brake dust like traditional brakes?
Very very little.
Very informative video, especially the breakdown of values and premiums.
Maybe it’s just me, but why does it seem like the quality of the interior bits on these vehicles deteriorates very poorly as they go up in mileage and age? It still happens in the 458 sadly
Looks like the 430's are your sweet spot.
I'm a fan.
I love that car so much.
Me too
The rear challenge grill wasn't offered as an option until 2007
I've heard that too but I've seen it on some 05 and 06 cars so I'm not totally confident that's true.
@@normalguysupercar those weren't an option from the factory when ordered. They were added on later
The manual swap about to make the factory manuals car sky rocket. And yes I’ve said this 10 years ago.
They already have! $100k more seems pretty sky high
Saw a 16M last weekend.
They are pretty awesome
Josh’s tail light do not light up on start up?
I didn't push the brake I guess
Is that blue f430 a customers car or going up for sale ?
It was going to be for sale but it already got a deposit.
Dan
Is 458 significant upgrade from 430?
It's a very different car. It's much more refined and quite a bit quicker.
Can one convert a cheap 99-04 Mustang gt auto to manual? Probably cost more than the car.? Love u guys ❤❤
Lol yeah, you'd have to get a completely different transmission.
@@normalguysupercar yeah, I’m sorry I ask stupid questions. I’ve returned to Indiana university, where I went to school to retire and health issues , at 58 are ongoing. Certainly no Ferrari’s here . Give Moe a hug from me ❤️
@@normalguysupercaryes, I’m the loser asking about a car that costs less than a wheel on these Ferraris. Sorry 😢
Whats the rarest color for F430s, purple?
That's a great question. I don't have an answer though
Ah forgot the comfort. Give me the carbon! Haha
Hell yeah
12:25 Scud
Yup
What are realistic 360 prices like nowadays? Those are my ‘some day’ car
They are in the $70-100k range mostly
@@normalguysupercar okay, so that’s the eventually possible territory for me
Me too. I love the 360.
And wasn`t the "bumpy ride"-mode in the Scuderia something that Michael Schumacher insisted on? I think so ;-)
Wouldn't surprise me
This video should be a sticky thread on FC...
They want me to pay money to be able to post videos. No thanks.

Drink everytime he says carbon fibre
Man, you're gonna get wasted. LOL!
Omg, 30k miles lol
Lol they are totalled at that point
Dove Tail or Duck Tail?🤔
I've heard both so I didn't know
@@normalguysupercar A Dove Tail is a woodworking joint
What are the benefits and maintenance impacts of the carbon ceramic brakes, if any?
Generally they last much longer than steel, but are far more expensive. They also produce almost no brake dust
