The ignition is on the left side because back in the old days it saved the Porsche racing drivers a lot of time at the start of the race, as they could get inside the car, turn it on with their left hand and simultaneously change into gear with their right hand, allowing them to get going faster than their competition. Porsche kept it in their production cars ever since, even on their PDK models.

The gears in the 18s are shorter. There for it has better acceleration than all of the previous years also meaning you have to shift sooner. I figured I would explain it for some people and tell you guys!
