Drug sniffing dogs are completely bs and usually made to alert. The dogs also destroy your paint and interior when let inside. Totally ignorant of Alex to do this and risk going to jail or having his vehicle impounded.
Hey, I rarely comment but yes the ethanol free is literally the best fuel I've ever run. I once drove a Honda Pilot 550 miles on a full tank of ethanol free..which is wayyy different then it's usual capability. Glad you're liking the hellcat!
Yeah the price difference for the ethanol fuel is literally the mpg difference calculated in. So it isn't actually cheaper cause you get worse fuel mileage.
You can look up ethanol free fuel on pure-gas. It's not as rare as people make it out to be. My closest gas station has it so I don't even have to go far for my snowblower.

Yes! So cool to finally see a big Mopar on the channel! From a 392 Scat Pack owner, welcome to the family! That Hellcat does look and sound stock to me. The OEM exhaust is not much different from a stock Scat Pack, so as you said, not much incentive to modify the exhaust at all. Sounds great as is! A couple of tips if I may: *Swap the belts for the green belts asap. The OEM ones aren't bad per se, but the green ones are a big improvement all the same *Check the SRT performance pages in the infotainment screen. you'll be able to see recorded lap times, trap times, max G-forces, etc. Gives a bit of an indication of how much the car was beat on *Definitely check/change the diff fluid, see if you can inspect it for excess wear *I'd highly recommend an oil catch can for later installation. Helps keep oil vapor from getting sucked back into the intake
Gotta invest on a great kill-switch system or a push to start system to keep your kitty from getting stolen again! These cars are known to be stolen alot!

Our only station with non-ethanol charges $5.19/gallon, and it recently went down from a 8-month stagnation at $5.49/gallon. Only small engines get that stuff.
Excitement takes over the brain guys have you ever gotten a car a forgotten to look at it like you know you should it happens once in life then you learn these are later stages
Check Trans, Check Rear Diff, Check Diff bushings, Change those black belts out for Gates green immediately, Check blower bearings as a start. If those are all good, great sign that the car is G2g.
@pricetagcitrus the black belts suck. Flat out. They wear out very quickly and they are prone to slippage from stretching (due to heat) or premature wear. The green belts are better overall and rated for higher HP use and see way less issues as far as slippage or stretching. If and where possible, as I've done with mine every single belt on my charger was swapped over from the black to green.

But it's a risk.
The baseball bat is used by truckers to check the tires on a pre trip. I used one when I was an OTR driver and it can be used for protection. It will give you a distinctive thump if the tires are low.
That’s interesting to know it’s a real thing. I just assumed it was something sold as a “tire checker” and actually just a bat to swing for protection, as of course they wouldn’t market it as such haha.
@@mentat1341As a mechanic, you can hear the difference between near fully inflated and under inflated. Certainly not as accurate as a gauge. The previous place I worked was 27/7 364, but due to staffing had to close the shop for a few hours sometimes. This included checking the loaded trailers for problems so they can go out when no one is in the shop. I used a 2lb. Hammer followed up with a gauge for any that sounded off. Of course people's hearing and senses differ so it may not work for everyone.
Having to check 18 tires during a pretrip inspection, we truckers use a small bat or rubber mallet to "thump" the tires. If the tire makes a dull thud, the pressure then gets checked. If it bounces off the tire, the thumper worked and it can be stored by the drivers door for future use, right next to the flashlight and pressure gauge.
I'm a truck driver a tire thumper is a quick way to check your tires when you get fuel that is faster than checking it with a gauge that you do at the beginning of your shift. You can also use it as defense if someone tries to mess with you or intimidation. Since it was in a car then I would guess the ladder if he was living in it.
As someone who runs ethanol free fuel in all my cars, it absolutely makes a huge difference in MPG. I get about 3-4 more MPG running 91 ethanol free rec fuel vs 93 with ethanol

Hey! The car fax shows it to be near me here in Humble Tx!!! Alex in Houston a lot of people get scammed buying cars like this. They think it’s legit, but turns out stolen. Maybe that’s why they maintained it. Bad problem here in the south.
It's not my "fav" color necessarily and wouldn't be my color choice for my "dream car" but white with a little pearl looks great with chrome!!! Like you said it's the most forgiving color so it's my choice for resale!
Actually, grey is very forgiving. I have had a few grey vehicles over the years and you cannot even tell they are mild to heavily dirty until you are right up on top of them.
Don’t waist your time with those Fanttik air pumps. I bought one after seeing it used in another LSC video and it developed a charging issue after a few uses. I’ve been dealing with Fanttik for about 3 months going back and forth for something that is still under warranty. Sent them all requested documentation and the issue is still not resolved. Their customer service is terrible.
Yeah these guys will push anything for a buck it seems. I've heard a lot of bad things about their products as well and decided not to order one. Looked like a decent product and trust Alex but it doesn't seem to be
The only product I've ever purchased that was being promoted in TH-cam was the Clyde's leather colouring balm and it was terrible it didn't really work the colour match was terrible and after some back forth with their customer service they basically came back and said sorry not sorry so after that I thought I'm never buying any promoted product ever again
Great episode - interesting with great chemistry. The inclusion of the Officer and his K9 partner was excellent. PD gets so much hate these days, it's great to see personable and professional officers on the community reach out. Hope you gave him some merch! :)
A tire thumper is usually used by truckers to check their tires. They thump their tires and listen to the tone to see if it’s aired properly. When you have 18+ wheels to check it’s a whole lot quicker.
Yeah I just used an old broken hammer handle when I was driving but, my 2004 Nissan Titan came with a wooden tire knocker that looked like a stubby baseball bat with a leather strap through the handle and Nissan stamped into it. IDK what ever became of it but I'd surely like to have it still
2 hours after posting this Hellcat video Likes were at 6.9k Great job. Tire thumper bat is for semi tractors drivers to thump their tires as a quick tire pressure check. You can tell approximately the correct tire pressure by comparing the sound or pitch when you hit a tire. Also for deterring potential truck jackers 😅

I would name it stealcat . I have a 2015 Hellcat inner cooler pump connection is underneath the air box . Water intrudes in the plug and intercooler. ... At first the pump runs continuously and then it gives out. Mine is doing that currently. I THANK YOU GOT A GREAT BUY 👍
Here's a possibility for the tire thumper. I worked at a concrete company and the guy that drove the gravel train, semi with two trailers, would check his tires in the morning with a pipe by hitting them. It would give you an idea if a tire was low or not, or flat. Don't know if that's what it's for, but I guess it's possible.
Indeed. But Vox needs to be trained a bit better. The dogs are not allowed to touch the car, nor can they stick their nose in the window. They can just sniff the air around the car unless the officer is given consent for a search.
28 mpg is crazy for a hellcat but for a modern muscle car makes sense. They are amazing on the highway. My 05 mustang gt got 28 mpg when driving from LA to Sacramento.
Im not from the US so i dont know those roads but it could be that he was driving slightly downhill from salt lake to chicago most of the time. That would definately help the mpg.
@@kamahlrg Salt lake city is at a higher altitude than Chicago so that is a possibility, but I bet only the first 1/4 of the drive was downhill, the rest was probably pretty flat.
71K is about the miles I bought my 2016 Dodge Charger R/T 392 Scat Pack. And the exhaust tips match my car as well. In case you read this, there is NO jack for these. @@deathmalice256Funny, this was my first thought when he said tire thumper 🤣
Seen your comment and was happy someone was thinking the same thing as me.
Yep.
Came to the comments section to say the same thing
There’s no self defense law in utah
immediate thumbs up for not doing 5 minutes travel vlog
One of the reasons why this channel is so good.
Would you have bought this car?
For sure
If I had enough money yes
Absolutely not. Where I live, it’s a definite target and I don’t need that type of attention in my life.
Yes I’m sure you will find drugs in it
Heck yea
Thanks for visiting, So much to see in Utah. You were within minutes of my house, and the ride over 'Big Mountain' is one of my faves.
Hope you had a good experience.
My brothers are police officers. One has been a K9. Those dogs are amazing. Great little addition to the video. Another great video and a cool addition to the LSC stable.
They're super inconsistent. The dog in the video also scratched the shit out of his nice Cutlass which is a shame.
Drug sniffing dogs are completely bs and usually made to alert.
It's a proven scam and is barely admissible in court and is going away nation wide as we speak and has been winding down for several years now.
Im very jealous of you guys. I live in brazil and our gas has 27.5% ethanol in it
Piece you found is a titanium nail for smoking thc concentrate from a glass rig
😂 Gotta love how the stolen hellcat comes with all the stereotypes in one for hellcat owners
Dabbing out of a titanium nail in 2024 is almost as bad as living in a stolen hellcat 😂
I'm screaming😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dabbing isn't just for thc containing recreation in 2024 either... That could have been a lot of things. Based on what he was doing in that vehicle that wasn't his, I'd almost bet on it.
The nail was definitely the drug biohazard the police found 😂
You could go with "CokeCat" or "Hell's Powder." Both names capture the intensity of a Hellcat and reference the drug theme.
ALEX.....Please wear ANTI STICK GLOVES !!! Never know if there is Drug Needles, etc........Nice Hellcat......cannot wait to see the Rehab......Love the Car...............
If he's not careful we'll be watching his rehab lol
Hellcats are always fun. I have one and a Trackhawks. I had the same problem with the fan on mine and it turned out to be the thermostat.
Surprise..😂
I’m curious did you ever figure out what the random switch was for? I was guessing it might have been a work around for the fan constantly running but I’d imagine you checked that. Great video!
I was thinking it was a fan over-ride switch myself. I have a switch setup on my 2002 Camaro SS from SLP that you can leave the fan in "factory" mode or force it in low or high fan speed with the engine off.
Stolen hellcat, gotta be a brake light kill switch so they cant see your brakes.
@@isaacanonymous1037 most of em aren't smart enough to do that!
Yup probably fan switch
I was scrolling thru comments to see 8f someone suggested it b4 typi g it myself...I'm betting it is a fan switch bypass too

A couple of tips if I may:
*Swap the belts for the green belts asap. The OEM ones aren't bad per se, but the green ones are a big improvement all the same
*Check the SRT performance pages in the infotainment screen. you'll be able to see recorded lap times, trap times, max G-forces, etc. Gives a bit of an indication of how much the car was beat on
*Definitely check/change the diff fluid, see if you can inspect it for excess wear
*I'd highly recommend an oil catch can for later installation. Helps keep oil vapor from getting sucked back into the intake
I have 8 Magnums 2 chargers and a couple of old Coronets .. I agree !!
Agreed. I only have a R/T, but the oil catch can was still recommended to me. I went with Billet Industries.
the mid muffler has been deleted on his car but scats and hellcats do sound the same stock
2021 Scat Pack Challenger owner here and I wholeheartedly agree. 🙂👍
Can you talk more about why the green belts?
Gotta invest on a great kill-switch system or a push to start system to keep your kitty from getting stolen again! These cars are known to be stolen alot!
And he lives in Chicago 😅😅😅 alex better be careful for sure
Man, I started watching your videos back in the day and I watched all your videos, fast forward to now I had not seen your videos for a minute and it's amazing how much your channel has grown. 1.2 mill! Wow congrats and keep up the good work, videos are always very entertaining !!
I laughed so hard at the "F--- it." And Jason just sat on the thrash pile. 😂
We have no ethanol options in SC and it’s $2.70 for regular and $3.50 for premium. Ethanol free is a little more.
That's crap! I have to pay $1 more per gallon for non ethanol fuel. It's also hard to find. Another win for SC
Our only station with non-ethanol charges $5.19/gallon, and it recently went down from a 8-month stagnation at $5.49/gallon.
Only small engines get that stuff.
GOT DAYUM. I’m over here sitting at 4.35 for regular with (up to) 15% ethanol near the Bay Area. Nice.
not even sure about the ethanol thing in the gasoline in NJ, but its 87! $2.99 a gallon or less if its cash
In SC I only use 91 ethanol free Shell in my Mercedes. 5.00 per gallon plus or minus. The performance and gas mileage are great.
Can’t believe you started digging in there without gloves on 😬
More nervous when he just sat down in the seat full of clothes,i was thinking needle
Like OMG he should have had a mask and like a hazmat suit like OMG. Like totally crazy I mean like OMG
Wow . Kids it's gonna be ok
Excitement takes over the brain guys have you ever gotten a car a forgotten to look at it like you know you should it happens once in life then you learn these are later stages
I think everyone who is worrying about wearing gloves would never survive a zombie apocalypse by breaking into a random car
Is the killswitch related to the fan maybe?
Check Trans, Check Rear Diff, Check Diff bushings, Change those black belts out for Gates green immediately, Check blower bearings as a start. If those are all good, great sign that the car is G2g.
Can you talk more about why the green belts?
@pricetagcitrus the black belts suck. Flat out. They wear out very quickly and they are prone to slippage from stretching (due to heat) or premature wear. The green belts are better overall and rated for higher HP use and see way less issues as far as slippage or stretching. If and where possible, as I've done with mine every single belt on my charger was swapped over from the black to green.
Alex, I’m a field Engineer and carry a pelican case with my tools and equipment. You can definitely travel with normal tools if you check them in your bags.
That's right. In checked baggage. Somehow, I think this guy didn't pay the extra to check a bag. IMO, not smart.
@gregkrueger331 I think he always just brings a carryon to kinda up the adventure lol. Definitely makes things harder, but more fun for us and ultimately alex too 😂 I think he likes to struggle
My tools were heavy, so I shipped them to where I was going.
He definitely means carry on. I'm also a service engineer and I usually check my big ass 1626 air case but I have many many colleagues who just carry on a little baby 1510, 1535, or something like that with the bare minimum for the job they're traveling for.
I'm more of a set it and forget it, have everything all the time, kind of guy.
Personally I've never been stopped even when I had to put some long tools in my carry on to lighten my toolbox up. But it's a risk.
Every time I used to fly with my tools in my Pelican, half would be gone.
Definitely don’t bring the Snap-On stuff
The baseball bat is used by truckers to check the tires on a pre trip. I used one when I was an OTR driver and it can be used for protection. It will give you a distinctive thump if the tires are low.
That’s interesting to know it’s a real thing. I just assumed it was something sold as a “tire checker” and actually just a bat to swing for protection, as of course they wouldn’t market it as such haha.
Auniversally discredited method. You only see really old timers who never listened and stupid young people who never learn use it.
@@mentat1341 "Universally discredited"? If it's been discredited you'll have no trouble citing some scientific studies that prove it.
@@mentat1341 yet tons of places online show you how to use them and sell them and I can't find a single article discrediting there use
This was actually the best video of yours, Alex.
Jason is such a vibe. I definitely want to see more of him on the chanel.
😂😂😂 the K9 dog done scratch the shit out the door on the Cutlass😂😂😂😂😂😂
When I heard "ohh, come on". I knew he was pissed😂
likely only light scuffs on the clear, can easily be buffed out. I doubt he's even begun detailing it
Heart stopped & buttocks clenched when the dog did that. 😮
I had to shut it off at that point. Couldn’t watch it.
Yeah, that was not professional from K9 😬
4RA's search function is so precise, finding games is like finding treasure 💎🔍
I'm a truck driver a tire thumper is a quick way to check your tires when you get fuel that is faster than checking it with a gauge that you do at the beginning of your shift. You can also use it as defense if someone tries to mess with you or intimidation. Since it was in a car then I would guess the ladder if he was living in it.
As someone who runs ethanol free fuel in all my cars, it absolutely makes a huge difference in MPG. I get about 3-4 more MPG running 91 ethanol free rec fuel vs 93 with ethanol
I run Ethanol Free for all my engines as well. Huge difference
I did a test with a K20 Civic. Was picking up knock with the 91 non ethanol vs 93 Shell. No mpg difference.
Now 100 LL is a ripper lol.
Alex, if someone was truly living in the car (ie, homeless), you HAVE to name it “Alley Cat!”
Wish you’d have had time to go south to visit Matt’s Off-road Recovery- great channel, and amazing vehicles!! (Including a huge Corvair collection…and at least one HUGE Corvair!!!)
Highly recommend you use the SRT oil filter! Flows better than the standard ones and is what's recommended for the hellcats
Hey! The car fax shows it to be near me here in Humble Tx!!! Alex in Houston a lot of people get scammed buying cars like this. They think it’s legit, but turns out stolen. Maybe that’s why they maintained it. Bad problem here in the south.
White has gotta be the most forgiving color on automobiles. Its my Fav for sure.
Jason is so wholesome.
I love that Jason came along for Cheap Hellcat drive. Please do it again, but maybe next time it can be to pick up a car for him.
Jason’s energy for sure helps the channel he seems to always be smiling ear to ear just happy to be there
Don’t waist your time with those Fanttik air pumps.
Alex, I really enjoyed this episode/Road trip with your Bud! Great deal on this Hellcat! Looking forward to following along on more!
IDK what ever became of it but I'd surely like to have it still
also known as a nigganocker
2 hours after posting this Hellcat video Likes were at 6.9k Great job. Tire thumper bat is for semi tractors drivers to thump their tires as a quick tire pressure check. You can tell approximately the correct tire pressure by comparing the sound or pitch when you hit a tire. Also for deterring potential truck jackers 😅
Awesome cop and k9
Absolutely crazy that they maintained it so well.
HE FINALLY GOT A MOPAR! Thanks Alex this is so cool! My persistent asking paid off 😂
THE SWITCH UNDER THE DASH IS TURNING THE FAN ON, they probably did that to get the intake temps down keeping the fan on all the time
2:50 so as a former smoke shop manager I can tell you thats a bowl for glass. The bowls on the top and the bottom is that stepped side on the other. Its varied sizes for different mm fitting sizes for glass.
What a nice police man Looks like he would have a good relationship with the public.
Indeed. But Vox needs to be trained a bit better. The dogs are not allowed to touch the car, nor can they stick their nose in the window. They can just sniff the air around the car unless the officer is given consent for a search.
everyone should have a friend like jason
25k, not a bad deal there. Holy crap. Nice find!!
"I can't find my 10mm wrench" Welcome to the club! 🤣🤣🤣
You've just became a true mechanic.
just find the box with a dozen left over from the last car swap, which uses the next size up,
why do they only give you one?
Silver switch is a fan switch. Reason the fan is running and killing the batt
71K is about the miles I bought my 2016 Dodge Charger R/T 392 Scat Pack. And the exhaust tips match my car as well. In case you read this, there is NO jack for these. As you should have seen in the trunk, just an inflator kit. So low to the ground, you just about have to have a scissor jack. So you got super lucky with that guy at the auction sight. These muscle sedans are exceptionally good for your daily drive then drag strip them. Not ideal for canyon carving at all. lol
You can get the gps fixed. Since it was stolen I imagine it was taken off or cut so it wouldn’t track the car.
With all the terrible stuff in the world right now and questionable social media .. I’m glad we made you famous .. also fyi- bad intercooler pump with high temps could be triggering the fans to run
Ya, congrats on making him famous. You did that.
The excitement in his voice makes me excited 😊 i love Mopar as well
Call it the Biocat. Go with a bright neon biohazard green :)
And a giant biohazard symbol on the hood.
That was the best ending to a video yet. Seeing the great officer with his great dog. Showing us how they work. I think it was awesome for those two to come out and help you. That was just really cool. And I’m glad the Charger was clean.
This was my favorite part as well. Made my day!
the best part of the video was the dog alerting on the caprice, those dogs are awesome
Oil changes on Hellcats require draining the oil cooler. Remove the forward skid plate and you’ll see the drain plug, 15mm, as I recall.
Well the whole living in it theory makes total sense especially if they traded it to someone for an ultra light trailer which is probably a camper/travel trailer. They wanted a bigger house.
