FROM THE USA TO THE RING! The First Nurburgring Laps for My Shelby GT500

- My Shelby GT500 started in the USA, and now it's here at the Nürburgring! The 760hp V8 beast is finally unleased to roar around the Eifel Mountains on the world's most famous race track. Hard to believe this Shmeemobile is now here, and what a way to do my first laps of the year!
I bought the ultimate Ford Mustang around 2 years ago when I was based for a while in Miami, Florida, and since then drove it across the United States to California, as well as taking part in the Gumball 3000 in 2022 from Toronto to Miami, before it was time to ship it to the UK. That process involved officially importing it, to get the car registered and wearing a UK plate, but now it's time to really make the most of it and like all of the Shmeemobiles, go for some laps at the Ring!
We're here during the Easter Weekend and Touristenfahrten on the Nordschleife; one of the busiest times you could imagine trying to drive it. Conscious of the experience I had with my Huracan STO last year, I'm anxious if we'll trigger the sound metres and therefore be removed from the track again... thankfully two fun laps down and we're all good!

That V8 supercharged is a 5.2L V8 predator engine which is one of the best engines made

Sweet ride - it's really telling just how much better today's Mustang is compared to ones from just 20 years ago. Proper performance car handling and power at a price that still isn't crazy. Never mind the fact that the Mustang looks unlike anything else on the road.
Shmee's European track day content is fantastic, especially the nordschleife laps! Thank you Tim, to give us this experience.

At the risk of sounding cheesy, you are the best part of the channel because you keep it clean and proper so that I can include my 11 year old grandson when a car he likes is on. I’ve been telling anyone that will listen for ages, these modern mustang’s can hustle. True I don’t own a 500, I only have a weedy 5.0 GT but still, they are surprisingly good these days. Always good to see the 500 content.

Great video! Really like to see you get a set of track rims with cup2r's on them. Rims you don't care so much if they get curb rash or other issues so you can really run it. Regardless, it why we enjoy the videos so much is cars actually driven and not show pieces.

Very impressive handling and speed from the GT500 especially for its size and weight.
Tim's spec is 1900 kg or 4189 lbs the lightest weight version.

Still very impressed that Tim takes most of his cars to The Ring. Vast majority of automotive TH-camrs never take their modified sport cars and/or supercars anywhere near a track. London cruising. Highway roll races. Rallies. Cars and coffee.
Understandable Tim would rather not drive his Zenvo on The Ring. But hey, he did it with his Senna and Ford GT.

I own a supercharged 2017 Mustang GT which has similar power levels, but doesn't feel anywhere near as stable as this appears to be... even with Ford's track suspension pack!
It is hard to judge the performance of the car and what it is capable of till you bring it to Nürburgring 😃 Damn, I'm seriously impressed by GT500, what a mean machine 😍 Bravo Tim, excellent drive, we've been wating for this moment 👌Wish you would/could do this with Zenvo 😁

Tim, i had fun during the first lap seeing the mpg’s drop like a brick; from 9.9 to nearly 7 MPG! But ultimately only 2 laps per tank in the GT500?! Wow…..
But seriously, you must’t drive much better than you do already… how else am I going to relate? ;-) Your persistence in driving here from scratch up until today really shows your progression and confidence. Now the line from Micha makes sense; drive a thousand laps here and you’ll be fine….

Max V Rotation~! Loved watching you "rotate" the warmed up GT after hitting 165 on the Ring. Ring Taxi Ride is on my Bucket List thanks to you. Really, the Mustang's Turn in at speed was incredible. Might have Curbed it once, how are the Carbon Rims doing? You need thicker tires to bounce of the curbs regularly...according to an earlier RingTaxi video of yours.
Watched this video in my 88 Shelby csxt, it's a far cry for speed from yours but I like it and there's only around 300 left. Super rare
