How I agree with the Left Hand comment. Apparently the left and right side of the body are controlled by different parts of the brain. Her mind must operate at warp factor a 1000 to be able to control her playing. A pleasure to hear some wonderful stride which gets a bit classical towards the end.
I am imagining the way the notes would clang out if she were to miss connections on any of those left-hand strides, but she nails every one. Just awesome.
So glad to see you play this piece Stephanie, I've actually chosen to attempt it for my grade 8 piano, it's great to have this as something I can go to for some inspiration:)
So pleased to hear your long awaited video. Delightful,as ever. But we've become used to batches of three and where is Paolo? I do hope you are both fit, well and happy! Very best to you both, Richard Clegg.
As a lifetime fan of stride and all things piano, I’m delighted to have discovered your channel. You are fabulous! Love the smile and laugh at the end 😊
That was awesome! Listening to it alone is a treat...but I have to say, the filming of it makes it even more spectacular....there is a temptation to say "She makes it look easy" but not to me....watching it performed in the way this video allows makes the whole performance even more impressive. Kept thinking that this music is usually associated with an upright in some crowded speakeasy...but being able to actually see Stephanie fly over the keys...you know....I have pondered for a long time on why guitar players are so much more popular than piano players (sorry, they just are) but, if more performances were viewed in the manner of this video...so people could see the actual play of the hands (as film has allowed so many to see guitarists on stage) there might be a better appreciation of stride piano...and no, she does not make it look easy.
Yeah, just what I needed this morning to make me sit back and go "Aaaahh!" Question: have you ever played a Boesendorfer piano with the extended low end? For a second there you almost seemed to be looking for those extra keys :D
Her smile right at the end is worth waiting for!
Bonjour, quand on ferme les yeux, on peut se croire avec le grand J P Johnson !!
Bravo
Wow, that’s so cool! 😮😊
I really like this. She has an incredible technique and speed in her left hand. She makes an important contribution to keeping old piano styles alive.
There's no one in the world better on stride - authoritative on the left hand, precise on the right, and a metronomic tempo. Wonderful. Thanks.

Five alive! This is both super and great. Stephanie won the Steeplechase by two hands and a thousand strides. Brava!
I clapped and smiled at the end . Unfortunate that with internet the performer does not receive the bravo and appreciation live.
Wonderful. Thanks. The combination of you and James is unbeatable. Plus I always look for, and love to see, the thousand watt smile at the end/.
