Acuña slashed about .330/.415/.600 with 5 homers, 15rbis and 10 stolen bases almost every single month. His consistency was crazy in 2023. You knew what you were gonna from him every single week

One guy on this highlight reel said Mookie Betts was surpassing Acuna... Ronald didn't just win the MVP. He won it unanimously. Betts was a roller coaster all year with highs & lows, with an incredible August. Ronald Acuna Jr. was consistent all year long. I can't wait for the MVP race between Ohtani & Acuna this year...

Anyone who thought that anyone (not just Mookie) could even have a chance of winning MVP over Acuña was either bias and or ignorant. Everyone was excited that he might be the first player in history of MLB going back to the 1800s to go 30-60 and Acuña was like naw 40-70 baby, plue some. Not even gonna talk about everything else he did, that alone wins MVP. people only Hyped up Mookie to try to make it interesting that there would be a race to MVP

Playoffs are usually a bit more random and dependent on a team catching fire at the right time. Braves had a ton of teams in the last 30 years that would be season victors against the whole league overall, but would be cold in the playoffs (or more usually, boned by moronic managerial decisions)

I have been watching baseball for 30 years and yet I have never seen a team so decimated by injuries let alone my favorite team. What has happened in this 2024 season for the Braves has left many speechless. If you come into a season and lose the odds on favorite to win the Cy Young a week into the season and the unanimous MVP not long after to any team that should seem like a death sentence and something they can't recover from let alone the constant trail of injured players we;ve seen since, yet the Braves despite all odds are still holding a playoff spot and by no means are out of the division. That shows the toughness of this teams. Just look at the list of elite players who have missed time for the Braves this year.
    - Spencer Strider - Out for Season
    - Ronald Acuna Jr - Out for Season
    - Austin Riley - Last 40 games of the season (at least)(he also missed 10 games earlier this year)
    - Ozzie Albies - Nearly 2 Months
    - Michael Harris - Nearly 2 Months
    - AJ Minter - Out for Season
    - Max Fried - Nearly a month
    - Reynaldo Lopez - A Month
    - Travis d'arnaud - Over a week and counting
    - Jorge Soler - Over a week and counting
Currently they have 3 All-Stars missing from their offense (Acuna, Riley & Albies) plus d' Arnaud. Because of it Soler has had to come back to early and hobbled yet they just won yet another series against the Phillies. Which makes 3 on the year. To hear it from Phillies fans the Phillies are best team the world has ever seen lol yet what do you know they are 3-6 against the Braves so far this year and despite all of the injuries with a lineup including 3 players who were recently released by other teams they still took 2 of 3 from the Phillies and in all actuality should have swept them. Bringing the once double digit lead in the division down to 5. Yet all you hear from Phillies fans is them being cocky saying it's the regular season, wait until October. As much as I would love to keep the division winning streak going if winning it means a first round bye again than let the Phillies have it. Let them see how screwed up the new format is for once. Instead of the Braves having to sit around and get rusty for a week while the Phillies gain momentum beating an easier team in the first round and take that momentum into the next series. The Braves have dominated them in the regular season and they don't just forget how to hit, in baseball timing is everything and that is why unlike other sports players who miss time go back to the minors to play a few games to get their timing back. Baseball is different than other major sports in that unlike Basketball, football, soccer, hockey the person throwing/passing the ball/puck to you isn't on your team and doesn't want you to get it. It's pretty clear the days off as a reward is anything but. Let the Phillies have it and let them see what it's like (that is unless the NL West and Central winners have better records than I want the Braves to win the division.
The crazy thing is even with the insane number of injuries they have suffered and the weird slow start in home runs to the season the Braves have now hit the 2nd most home runs in the NL so far this year. Unlike years past this years team actually has a great starting rotation so at least Braves fans wont be forced to watch Bryce Elder get the ball for a pivotal game 3 again.

The top comment is why social media is garbage. Y'all are so petty & make everything hateful. Hater makes dumb comment, gets hateful replies, turns it into Acuna vs Mookie part 347. Meanwhile Betts is always so humble & likeable between this and the Matzek comments, Braves fans would be coming here to praise him, but it immediately gets poisoned. Thankfully he isnt like fans & can actually appreciate Ronnie's greatness, which makes me appreciate him even more. Be more like Mookie, less like "yungsoy"

I'm going to take the odd stance that Nike screwed everything up for the season. Not even because of the sweat problem but the unnecessary and downright bad changes that were made to the iconic Braves Unis. Someone decided it was a good idea to change the sleeves piping removing the strip of white at the end to now look like a Phillies jersey sleeve but even that wasn't the worst dumb ass change. They decided to change those great looking alternate road jerseys by turning the white/silver piping red which makes them look like spring training unis are so bad the Braves have only used them twice all season. They also for some reason removed the iconic and very unique piping on their away belt loops. Luckily they left them on the homes (which im sure the front office made clear that wasn't going anywhere. They are the only team in baseball to pay such attention to the belt loops and it's gorgeous. I really hope they fix it back for 2025

  • @jamesrichardson381
    @jamesrichardson381 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

Reality is often much less exciting than people hope for. It was like baseball wanted the MVP to be a race so began manufacturing one. Because it was never that close between he and Mookie. The media wanted the story line so they got it for this series. All Acuna did was keep on mashing as he had all year. Even at Mookies strongest push it never got as close as Dodgers fines might have wanted to believe. Luckily the voters had enough sense to see through it as they made it clear with a unanimous decision. So of all of the voters not a single one had Mookie 1.
