People are getting mad at Acuna for being "too good", so they hit him in the arm and back when it has little to no protection on. pitchers are soft. I completely understand getting annoyed when you get homered off of 17 times by one mad but that is no reason to try and hurt someone. Its baseball there are crazy stat lines all the time. I also understand that people are annoyed at Acuna for no hustling in the past, but he has cleaned up his act now, and winning the MVP should show that. I also believe that if you are good enough you should be able to be flashy. I like that Acuna is Flashy the dude hit 40 homers and stole 70 bases last year creating his own club while leading the league in hits. When you put up that stat line you should be able to be flashy. People getting mad at him for being good is outrageous, and to say he is ruining baseball shows that people are soft and going off pure emotion. Also to call him a crybaby for tearing his ACL is crazy, that is hard to get over, so don't judge him for not playing as hard because of his injury.

I'm with you, how about we just allow sports to evolve with the times?
Football (Soccer) has been around for 200 years, in 1900 players didn't celebrate goals with anything more than a fist pump, and a polite golf clap from the crowd.
By the time when I was a kid, goal celebrations were just a guy running with his hands in the air, maybe one of his teammates might come over and give him a hug or a kiss on the forehead if it was a particularly important or spectacular goal.
But, there were occasional players that came along, mostly foreigners and youngsters, who began to celebrate more elaborately, and guess what? after some initial reluctance, the game evolved. Celebrations have gotten bonkers, to the point that they had to introduce rules to stop time wasting. you get a yellow card for taking your shirt off, not because it's considered crass or over the top, but because it wastes time having to wait for them to put it back on before the game can restart.
If Football can evolve with the times, I don't see why baseball can't.
The solution seems simple, allow celebrations, batflips, dancing etc, so long as you aren't time wasting too much.

It occurred during the Venezuelan league final between the Tiburones de La Guaira (La Guaira Sharks) and the Leones de Caracas (Caracas Lions). Both teams have a rivalry. They have played in the same stadium for decades. While the Leones are the teams with the most titles in the league, until this year, when they won the league (and the Caribean series :)), the Tiburones were the team with the second-longest curse in Latin America (and the longest in Venezuela). The last time Tiburones were champions before the course, they beat Leones in the final. Many Tiburones fans blame the Leones for being the cause of their course because the next year, Leones beat them with a no-hitter in the final. The main factor Acuña's family got attacked is that Leones' fans were not happy. Both teams DO NOT LIKE each other.

As someone who watches baseball w/o a team, Acuna is really exciting to watch. Hes young, cocky (in a good way) and very talented. I wish him the best, is way better a player with a passion for the game than a heartless player.

The issue is the gap between American baseball and the culturalization of baseball in other countries....in the US we were taught to respect the game by not being flashy. Put your head down after hitting a homerun, don't make any flashy moves or celebrations because it has nothing to do with the game and someone could get hurt, either emotionally or physically....in other countries they literally have preteen cheerleaders getting a different type of energy from the crowd, the crowd knows different cheers depending on what section you are sitting in, to mentally beat your opponent by making flashy moves, etc....non-american countries just have a different culture around the game of baseball...

Acuña translation against Alex Gonzalez: Alex Gonzalez, life after retirement must be difficult. When the best SS is spoken of in Venezuela, nobody mentions your name, your numbers don’t impress and now you want to use my name to figure. I keep playing making history and you keep criticizing from the couch in your house.
I’m a native English speaker who is far from fluent in Spanish. Can someone who is fluent verify? Time stamp 19:15.

16:39 this is what happens when things get translated from another language to English, nothing really directly translates to English, and words have different meanings and different contexts behind them. I dont know if I’ve seen anyone that says anything in Spanish that translates word for word to anything in English

I think you have given me a reason to start watching games with this video. Always watch your videos. Love baseball. But given I live other side of the world now, it's never been something I felt I could sacrifice for (especially given how long the games can get). Ronald Acuña Jr.'s story really resonates for me. I have to root for him now, just hearing it. Hoping I can watch him get play in and win a world series. Who news, maybe I'll be able to buy a ticket if I'm lucky and made it by them. Go Braves!

Could you do a video talking about the 2021 World Series run more in depth?
There is also a lot of unexplainable coincidences that say Hank Aaron helped influence the luck involved in it. The braves had 44 wins before and after the all star break and 44 was on the field all year. He also passed away in 2021 in Atlanta. Just saying, I think it is a fantastic video idea.

i dont even watch baseball but he's my new favourite player. I love cocky athletes who break dumb rules, have over-the-top celebrations, and who oldheads hate because they "dont respect the culture" but have the skill to back it all up. who cares if he doesnt play the game the exact way you think he should, grow up
