Ronald Acuña Jr. is without question one of the best players in baseball. He's a 4 time all-star, 3 time silver-slugger, rookie of the year, and MVP winner all by his age 27 birthday. However, due to injuries and external factors not in his control. We have barely seen him play and if this continues, it could hinder his ability to find himself at Cooperstown.

Title: What They Aren't Telling You About Ronald Acuña Jr.

Another thing important to mention was that for the second ACL tear, it was his Left leg this time. Dudes torn both of his ACL's now. I think that the MVP season was the last of his base stealing days.
could have a mike trout situation, be a DH not steal as much bases and try to hit
@@bluebearbeast7522Especially with how tentative he has been in right field ever since the first injury. He is still an amazing athlete but you can tell his knee is still in his mind. So what would the Braves do with Ozuna? Because you know he isn’t moving to right field!
@@matthewandress1229 haha very true, calling ozuna a lie ability out there is an understatement, ronald will just have to keep fighting thid
Didnt vick do the same thing
Boy I'll tell you if it wasn't for injuries we be Atlanta would have more ring s then then the boston
@@matthewandress1229 the Braves should trade Acuna while he still has potential value to other teams.
He’s gotta stop with the winter ball. He was clearly not at full health from opening day this year and it was obvious. Hope he recovers fully, he’s one of the best and most entertaining players in the league
Are you sure that winter ball is the thing that is affecting him?
He won MVP and played winter ball. ACL is a freak injury. You can train everyday and still tear ACL
He had done something to his knee during spring training.
I think he rushed himself back after the knee thing in spring training and clearly never gave himself time to recover, he should've probably been on the 10 day to start the year just for extra rest.
Blake-cb8gu well that’s a good take and it could affect some but just look at him he doesn’t lift weights and that’s a big reason why he is injury prone
He hasn't scratched the surface of what he's capable of? There's almost zero chance he can do better than his 2023, even if he never got hurt again--which is a testament to how unbelievable that season was.
Agreed. That was his best. With the injuries he's never getting there again. Maybe he'll have some 20-20 seasons if he's lucky.
Yup his base stealing days are looking numbered.
I think that in the unlikely case that he gets back to full health after this he could potentially turn in a 50/50 season.
_2023 was his very best year (and one of the best stat lines of any MLB player in all of MLB HISTORY). I hope he savored it._
Matter of fact, I'll eat my shirt if he matches or beats that year's stats.
*Here's hoping he successfully comes back from this year's injuries! Go Braves!*
I hope he can bounce back too!

Man I love acuna I can’t help but tear up watching this😢
He's awesome to watch!
So sad to see. A healthy Ronald does wonders for the sport
for his teams fans. other teams fans dont give a shit about other teams players. as a yankee fan i dont give a fuck about acuna or any other teams players. they arent important to my team
@@nomercyinc6783 hey, stupid. Not everybody is the same as you and some of us even like players from other teams.
@@nomercyinc6783hating bc yu don’t have the most electric player in the sport 😭
@@nomercyinc6783some people like the sport. Not just a team
@@nomercyinc6783you’re the reason why us Yankee fans have a bad rep. I absolutely LOVE Acuña, he makes marketing the game of baseball easy. He’s electric, walks the walk and backs it up. Plus it’s sad to see someone RIGHT AFTER his MVP season get injured that bad.
Still waiting for the truth about Ronald Acuna from this video.
the truth is he's washed. Will NEVER have a season like 2023 again. Just getting back to 30-30 status would be a miracle.
@@itsneight1260washed?? Wtf😭😭
@@itsneight1260LOL are you kidding me must be a Phillies fan😊
@@itsneight1260how is he washed lol. He literally wasn’t healthy beginning the season. Absolutely insane to call a player washed after having 200 mediocre at bats after a mvp season
@@itsneight1260 washed hahaha what a casual take
The kid is insanely gifted and tough as nails. He will be back, and this one is not the back leg of his batting stance. He will be a hoss still. Wait and see... he will still be running the bags too. He may DH a little more often or play LF, but he will put up numbers.
I’m heartbroken on how forgotten he is. With ohtani and judge being so popular, I feel like people forgot how historic the 2023 season was for Acuna.
It’s so sad that he got injured for the year as a rays fan I respect him tho
As a Jays fan I agree.
It’s too bad. He has so much potential and I hope he still has a long career ahead of him but I just don’t know. I can’t imagine baseball without him. Makes me tear up. 😢
his 2023 is like bonds single season hr record, you can’t replicate/beat it
Such a talented young man. I hope he makes it back to 100 percent but I don't know if that's reasonable but 75 percent Acuna is a lot better than most.
Agreed, 75% of his 2023 season would still put him amongst the elite. I hope we can see another 2023 stat line from him in the future. He's so fun to watch.
Hopefully he bounces back quickly. Such an electric player
Hopefully but both acls is actually insane. His defence was already suspect with one tear now I'm thinking his base stealing days are reaching their end. He'll be lucky to reach 30 steals whilst being healthy year in, year out.
He's awesome to watch!
Great video bro
Thank you so much!
How am i 7 minutes into this video and there still isnt a point yet
I’m 14 in and still no point
finished the video and wasted 19 mins of my life
Didn't he play winter balls both in 2023 & 2024 leading up to the season? That could be a prominent cause. He said on one of the pre-season interviews that it's fine and doesn't impact his health at all but it doesn't seem like so. Plus Vlad Jr. season is a weird one, he picked up pretty late, like just before the sell off....I wonder if $300 mil is an overbuy for Vlad? I mean sure he's playing really good right now but his inconsistency really sticks out to me. Would love to hear your thoughts on this one as a Jays fan here in Canada.
Both of the ACL tears are something that wouldn't be because of winter ball and a degenerative issue with the tendon. They both happened on running plays.
As a Braves fan it was obvious something was off with him this season. He played in the Venezuelan winter league last year and had some kind of injury that made him miss most of spring training. I think this injury was bothering him and he was trying to play through it and it inevitably led to his ACL tear. He can’t do things like that anymore! No more Venezuelan Winter league and no more playing through painful injuries. I love Acuña and hope he plays for the Braves as long as possible I think he still has a lot more to offer baseball!
Mr. Acuna Jr. already has a World Series Ring. Item most players never achieve 🥃
Agree
As a jays fan I want your opinion if the jays should have sold at the trade deadline line or if they did the right thing?
I think Bo's calf injury halted any major trades you all could have done. The rest of this Jays season is a formality, keeping Vladdy around a bit longer keeps fans in seats.
Jays just need to retool not full rebuild. Hang on to Bo and Vladdy build around them
Im a Mets fan and this man hes talent hes outstanding hes fantastic hes a HOF for sure i hope he doesn't keep hetting hurt God bless that mens health and talent
He needs to be more careful. It was pretty obvious to anyone watching every day that he got hurt in spring training. He was compensating the whole time and it probably put a ton of extra stress on his left knee. If he just played it careful and sat a few weeks, maybe hit the 15 day IL and waited til he was 100% he probably doesn't get hurt. But he never wants to sit. I get that, its what makes him great but he has to realize he's more valuable in 120 healthy games than he would be in 162 games of playing through the pain.
I remember he got injured in spring training. Was a sign of things to come.
His story kind of reminds me of Zion Williamson. A guy who has great potential but needs to limit the stress on their body
Ya Zion is another perennial star who can't stay healthy. I hope this marks the last time we miss Acuña for an extended period of time.
He's a walking first ballot hall of famer
I think he has a direct path to making it. It's just been crazy to think that in the 7 years since he's been in the league, he's only played over 120 games twice. I hope we get to see him with a prolonged run of health, there's nobody quite like him when he's on his game
@@3-0Greenlightsame with Aaron judge always injured never plated enough to be considered a hall of famer
@@3-0Greenlight Looking at how improved the medical technology field has been. Looking at LBJ as an example of taking care of a great athlete takes care of ones health. Without doubts, if he takes care of this health to the T, I think he can play at a high level well into his late 30s.
@@masonmalaguti3463aaron judge is almost certainly gonna end up in the hall of fame
@@masonmalaguti3463judge is definitely making the hall he’s already at 50 war and has a long 7 year contract left
Can’t believe this guy made a whole video about Acuña and not one time mentioned that he has the strongest outfielders arm in MLB
Man what a player he is, one of the most profounding players in all of baseball just if only he could stay healthy he would be a 1st ballot hall of famer and as an Astros fan I really like to admire him and respect him and I just hope he doesn’t end up the same fate as Tulo the fans and game needs him, he is a really nice and hard working player hope he can go on to be one of the games most athletic hall of famer in history. Respect ya Acuña 🫡❤🎉
Love your vids btw, very underrated I hope you keep popping out very great vids and congrats on 10k hope eventually people will see how great your channel and vids are and reach 100k one day (keep it up!) ❤🎉
Good breakdown! I wonder what slimming down would do for his game. He doesn't need to put on a lot of mass to generate power as he's just a natural. He's clearly thicker around the waist since coming to the states, so I wonder if his joints aren't used to handling that weight with his explosiveness. Either way it sucks to see him go through these injuries. Amazing player when healthy.
Injuries is the only thing that can hold him back..but I would compare him to something between Griffey Jr and Rickey Henderson.
I know the dude loves his home country and probably loves to play winter ball there, but they’re not the ones he signed a multi-million dollar contract to play with. After tearing both ACLs within a couple years of each other, sadly Acuna won’t be the same player he was, but if he and the Braves are smart about how he trains and is implemented back into their system, he can still have a hall of fame career. He’s special and I just wanna see his full potential be used.
Braves wouldd do themselves a favor to trade him while he still has some potential value. He'll never have a 2023 season again.
He is clumbsy. It does not show to the average person. But he is very akward the way he jumps and lands and stops after running. He has to learn how to do those things without harming himself. He has zero clue about this, an athlete needs a certain degree of awareness about how not to those things. He did not get hurt by shear chance or luck. The way he landed the first time he blew his knee out he did it without any bend in the knees. And the most recent injury he tried to stop by keeping his legs in a normal forward position, he should have been sideways when he tried to stop not upright and facing forward. The Braves need to hire someone to teach him these things, other than this is one of the best talents in bb
Thankfully he’s still a kid. He’ll be fine.
Im a braves fan, that being said if i wasnt i would absolutely hate acuna. After the world series win in 21 without him, i was saying we should trade this guy while he's still worth it, i never liked his style and i dont think he's a team player. But now i feel its too late
He cares more about looking cool than winning ballgames
The Braves need to trade both Ozuna and Soler in the offseason, i like them both but i like Acuna more and Acuna needs to be the DH of this team, he offers no value in the outfield and is one of if not the best offensive player in the game, the Braves need to make sure hes in the lineup and not risk injury playing the field.
He’s on the same path as Buxton awesome when he plays but always getting hurt
Videos like this just show you how many stats baseball tracks. This is just a sample of them. Shit is crazy
The braves lost in postseason twice with him. Then won World Series without him
It's pretty crazy to think about lol
He’s also responsible for the Braves even getting there in 2021.
...and?
He's also the reason they even had a chance
The Braves should make him actually take the off-season off. He shouldn't be playing in any other leagues. Winter League baseball should be the furthest thing from his mind. Take that time to heal his body
What was the harsh truth?
What do u need to see from him for him to make the hof? How important do u think his availability is going to be too his chance?
It's very interesting. He has great accolades. But his career stats aren't that elite because of his lack of availability. He'll need to come back and have a prolonged period of healthy to make it. Even if it's at 75% of his 2023 season.
Acuna is reminding me a lot of Griffey Jr in the sense that there is no doubt about him being one of the best players of his generation when he is on the field. But the problem is, he rarely is for long stretches of time. I hope he gets right. Luckily, his last ACL tear didn't seem to take away any of the dynamic ability he has specifically on the base paths. I mean we see tons of NFL players tear ACLs and other knee ligaments and come right back to do the same stuff they were doing before. Hoping he does the same.
I hope that's the case. I think he can get back at least close to 100%. But I wonder if he'll be able to perform at this elite of a level into his late 30s.
I hate to say it but I don't think he will be playing position for long. I think he is going to end up being a DH for the rest of his career. I guess it all depends on what magic his surgeon can do. He is gonna have to take it easy for a full season at minimum.
Cool Video✌🏽
He is a car made on Friday looks good but always broke down that will be his career from now on
I think 25 will be better than 22. It’s the left leg and not as brutal of a tear. It also happened earlier in 24 than in 21. And I hope he’ll probably get the dh spot atleast half the time…. Fingers crossed tho
I agree. It also helps that it's his front leg this time not back.
Dude, he's not getting in Coopeerstown anyway. He's had two lost years and now has to play the rest of his career on shot knees. He'll make the Braves' all-time outfielders list, but he has to catch up to Dale Murphy first and that bar isn't Cooperstown-worthy.
He has great accolades for his age. But as you said he hasn't performed at his peak for that long so far in his career. He'll need to have a prolonged period of health once he gets back to ensure his spot in the hall of Fame.
Dude tore both of his ACLs
So did Chipper
Acuna is having the same issue as trout where they started PED's too young and their ligaments and tendons cant keep up with the explosive power.
I hadn't heard that conspiracy yet.
Take the tin foil hat off
It doesn’t matter how good you are if you aren’t on the field.
Are you going to do a Aaron judge video
Yes! I'm planning to do it after the season finishes!
im wondering why he changed his batting stance back to 2022 season stance
You told us everything we already know about him. Thanks
I don't hear it talked about how he has played just two full seasons in 7 years. I wanted to shed light on that information.
He is without a doubt one of the best players in the game. But he hasn't had a prolonged period of success. It will also make it hard now that he has injuries to both knees.
under 1 minute gang
🏅
Sad.
Why in the world is he doing play baseball in winter
Sucks man :( So much potential.. obviously he’s still young and has time left but it will be a tough grind if he wants to make it into the HOF.. hopefully not trout 2.0
Acuña has been benched twice for lack of hustle. We may never know the truth but I would bet his injuries are due to improper warming up and stretching out before a game. And why is it that most players on the IL will be in the dugout during a game (at least home games), but Acuña is nowhere to be seen. Just my opinion.
Let’s see a Paul Skenes video
I will 100% be making one about Skenes after the season. You can bet on it.
not a ball player anymore , got the big head ! He needs to MAN UP !!!
sad to know that 2023 was likely his ceiling now with this second injury... hope he proves me wrong though
It's going to be very interesting to see. Because 2025 could be another lost year recovering from his ACL. If he can stay healthy beyond that I hope to see him continue to perform and break his own records.
@@3-0Greenlight i hope so too, but he'd need a lot of positive variance on his side to sniff a season like 2023 again
Ronald "No Knees" Acuna
Hopefully he doesn't lose too much speed when he gets back. He's so fun to watch.
Mike Trout is better off as a DH at this point, Acuña might have to follow a similar path. Giancarlo Stanton has been more valuable since 22’ compared to Trout…
Do you think javy Baez will make a comeback before the end of his career?
Hell nah
NO DOUBT he is good but is not worth the money the Mets paid. That is a fact. Because I have not seen a world series with the Mets in it.
What they aren't telling us is that the title is HUGE CLICKBAIT
I haven't heard any media outlets talk about the fact that Acuña has barely played in his 7 years at the majors. This second injury will also impact him in 2025 as well as his ability as he gets older. He has great accolades so far in his career and he is without question one of the best players in the league when he's on his game. But if he can't stay healthy it will be hard for him to make the Hall of Fame.
At worst, he will be the next Adolis Garcia. At best, he continues the HOF trajectory. Either path is a win.
If he can stay healthy he'll for sure make the Hall. I hope he can, watching him is a joy. Not many guys like him.
a Ferrari that stays in the repair shop too much.
if he got mvp off one tear why cant he do it again?
I think so! 2025 might be tough as he gets back playing. But if he can stay healthy beyond that I think he could have another MVP in the cards.
Hello
Wait… you just mentioned everything we already know. What aren’t they telling us?
I don't hear it talked about often how he has barely played in the 7 years of his career so far. And if 2022 is a sign of how he performs post ACL surgery then 2025 could be another lost year. It's hard not to think about what's already been lost with him despite his great accolades.
@@3-0Greenlight yea I hear ya. His 7 years in more like 3 years
What was the point of the title LOL I didn't think you were a clickbaiter
I'm sorry it came off that way. I never hear it talked about how he hasn't played that many games despite being in the league for 7 years. If 2022 is a sign of how things are for him after an ACL tear then the 2025 season could be more of the same. ACL tears in both knees will also make it hard for him to continue to perform at an elite level as he gets older. Which will hurt his career resume.
That he never plays baseball?
they aint syaing anythng cause the already said he is out for the year why whould thay
The truth is, he has glass knees.
He's done in the MLB soon.
I hope not, he's such a fun player to watch.
If Acuna wants to stay on the field he needs to work more on hitting and less on base stealing. Stop doing shit that puts constant stress on the (fragile) knees. Hell, become a DH that hits 50 HR if need be.
Bruh so what the fuck did you tell me about acuna that they didn’t
do ozzie
Albies? I've thought about doing one about him.
What aren't they telling me about him?
Ur tellibg me acuan is only making 11 mill a year
Braves got a bargain!
Acuna is the goat
He is looking to get traded
And the worst thing about this - it's likely going to cost Atlanta Marcell Ozuna this offseason as Acuna is likely to be a full-time DH next year after 2 ACL tears (along with the fact he's one of the worst defensive OFs in baseball even when healthy), and could end up forcing a teardown and rebuild far sooner than expected in the Braves organization - possibly as early as this offseason as Atlanta is on track to potentially miss the playoffs.
Cannot complete a season. He is not goid sitting home and collecting a fat check. Not impressed
Harsh truth is that he's the best player in the league. Yes better than Ohtani, yes better than LA's beloved Mookie, and yes better than Judge
Bruh to big he gotta lose weight…
"Unheard of mlb history"......kind of a strrtch there, aint it?
No player in MLB history ever posted a 40 homer 50 stolen base season, 40 60, or 40 70 until he did. His 2023 season was a combination of power and speed unheard of in MLB history.
@@3-0Greenlight the pizza box bases played a part in the uptick in stolen bases more than anything.
