- THE PLOW GUY SAVED MY BUTT WHILE WE VACATIONED IN SUNNY FLORIDA DURING THE MARCH NOR-EASTER. THERE IS ONLY SO MUCH A PLOW CAN DO WITH AN ODD SHAPED DRIVEWAY. THROWING SNOW IS MUCH BETTER IN MY SITUATION. NOW WE NEED TO TAKE THE KUBOTA AND CLEAR OUT THE 5FT SNOW BANKS AND FIND MY DRIVEWAY.

You need Drift cutters!!! They will make sure the snow above your blower will fall down….

Suggestion: put drift cutters on each side of your snow blower (flat bars), they will knock down the higher part of the drift. You can easily take them off after

I'm jealous of you cab guys, LOL. Neither one of my tractors with blowers have cabs. When blowing while windy I wear my full-face motorcycle helmet---cheapest cab I know of 😉. I put both blowers in storage after uploading the last TH-cam vid. Great vid, something therapeutic about watching snow throwing. 🦾
The cabs are nice but the helmet is the next best thing. I used to do the same thing when I had my BX2370. I'm close to changing over the implements but we did get 4 inches of snow Friday night. You just never know this time of the year.

I have the same tractor and snowblower. Also live in New Hampshire. I wish the cab was quieter.
I hear you there. Pun intended. 😆 I guess the new models are quieter but also about 40% more expensive. I have to live with mine.

Drift cutters basically are rods that attach at a 45 degree angle to the sides of the blower housing and extend in front of the augers. That way as you make your first pass under the drift…it cuts the snow above your blower allowing it to fall hopefully in front of the augers. If not on the first pass it will fall when you back up….so you don’t need a “shoveler” doing work in front of you! An easy after market job. Haven’t done it on my BX2816 yet….but it’s on the list….and we don’t get drifts normally
Hey W F, absolutely could have used drift cutters for this but I usually stay up on it so I don't need them. But since we do get a lot of wind up here it would be a good investment. Thanks for the advice!

If you get a lot of snow a plow only works for so long and then the walls start closing in on you. Eventually you will need a blower there is no way around it. I have a similar set up to you, LX 3310 cab with front blower and rear hydraulic angle blade. Thanks for the video
I like that 3310 model. What's the HP at the PTO on that? I'm waiting to see the new LX models with the higher HP. The prices look like they've increased about 30% 🫤
@@BeginnerforBSeries I was thinking about waiting too but the dealer had some pretty good deals on the “old” models and I was figuring the “new” models would come with a fairly hefty price hike. To answer your question the 3310 has 27 pto horsepower. I demo’d both the 2610 and 3310 and found the 3310 cab to be quieter than the 2610 cab plus I like the idea of the extra hp on the pto. I have the 64” commercial front blower and am glad I went with the extra ponies 🍻
@@xdude2x they didn't have that option in the old b series cab models when I got mine in 2019. I'd like more on the rear as I'm thinking to add a wood chipper this year.

Good morning Dave. We have had an unusually mild winter here in Iowa. We haven’t had much snow, nor have we had much of the normal sun zero winter temperatures.
In your situation here, that is where a loader would shine. There just simply isn’t a perfect winter set up for one tractor without having multiple implements. Even at that, removing and reinstalling the front mount snowblower is not a task many would want to have to do multiple times.
Your blower did a fine job of knocking it down. If I had my first choice of a snow removal set up, it would be one just like yours. That cab is worth its weight in gold.
For what it’s worth, man, that snow was deep.
Thanks Gary and I would agree with you 100%... I thought about putting the load on but ultimately decided to see what the blower could do. The way that I store my implements in the garage is what most of the issue is. It would take me a half day to switch out and then put everything back. I was happy overall as I blew that snow 50 feet away from the driveway and I have not big banks because of it. Have a good week, Gary!

People who say that about plows don't deal with the snow that we get here. I'm still waiting on the blower for my tractor (coming in this week) and with the average snowfall that we get in this part of the state (I'm in Wakefield) the driveway closes up quick and you have to plan for that in advance like in the fall with a plow.
Bucket has been my only option and damn are my banks high and I'm moving snow 4 times over😆

what part of florida did you come to?We are looking to move to NH what part do you live in?
We came down to Vero Beach for a wedding and then did 4 days in Orlando at Disney and Universal Studios. We are in what they call the Lakes Region of NH. Gilmanton to be precise which is basically about in the center. If you enjoy getting a different taste of weather, we get all 4 different seasons up here. It's really beautiful.
A whole lot of snow, a plow would not work for me with that much snow either. Hopefully those big storms are behind us.

This would be a situation where it would be worth the time to put your FEL back on and use the bucket to knock the piles down to a managable height then put your blower back on to clear the snow off the driveway. No use in putting undue stress on your equipment.
Or option 2 would be show a neighbour how to use your tractor and blower to handle the times you're away when a winter storm blows through.
That definitely would be the best way but not an easy task to unhook and setup multiple times. Especially the way my implements are stored. The neighbor idea is one I had but they are nervous they are going to break the tractor somehow. I told them they would be fine and they aren't delicate machines but I get it
Nastiness for sure Dave. Hasn't been a very good winter for snow . Seems we mostly got really wet heavy stuff all year, then freeze solid. Hopefully not the new norm. The B2650 made it look easy a little at a time!.
I think we got all our snow in February and March. Right when it was starting to feel like spring 🌱
You have had way too much snow for a plow. Way too much.
A plow is nice when you have the area. Here, we have to pile the snow. With plowing it, you run out of area to push to quickly. So far this year, it wouldn’t have been a problem. It would have in normal years.
My driveway would run out of room to quick as you can see.
