- As we get hit with a Nor'easter, I wait until we have close to two feet of snow before snow blowing. With hopes that this help answer the questions I've received about the capabilities of this tractor.

I have been a Kubota fans from the early 90's when we had an old kubota tractor with a cab and a snowblower at work, it was about the same size as your 2610. In 2009 my wife and I moved to the country and realized we needed a lawn tractor mower. I found a used 1800 with a mower and front mounted belt driven snowblower. We have had it for 14 years and decided to upgrade to a size bigger, mower, snowblower and a bucket this year. I am happy with it, the bucket isn't so big that I am going to have holes in the lawn and the tractor is a 4x4 with a diesel engine. I have pushed it and tried to get it stuck, it has just backed out without a problem. The old tractor would have been stuck. We are keeping it as a mower, its snowblower took a long time to switch it over and don't plan to use it now that I have an hydraulic snow blower that switches over in about 15 minutes. My point being Kubota makes a good product, know its limits, that goes for all machinery, and you will be happy.
It’s great to see someone that uses common sense when using a tractor to blow snow! I have a BX2380 with a Tektite cab and a Kubota BX2822 Commercial front blower and an RB0560 rear blade. When the snow is high in the driveways I take my time and don’t overwork the BX. I listen to the rpm and if it drops I either increase the throttle or slow down to let the tractor engine catch up. I’m in a heated cab with a wiper why would I want to rush overwork the tractor when I can have fun blowing snow! I see a lot of videos where the operators let the engine bog down and they continue to push into the snow. Heck when I’m done my driveway I’m looking for more driveways to clean😂
LOL! Man, you must have had a lot of fun Dave! Wish I had that snow. I'd be playing in it all day. Hands down - I love my LX2610- it is an excellent little workhorse for my small property and needs. Not sure which blower you have but I have the 64" commercial LX2980 blower and almost a mile of driveway to clear. It does the job. And then some. 2 1/2 years in and I am still happy with the performance. No regrets. Thanks for the vid - have a great weekend! Be safe out there!

I'm like you Dave. Must be a 'Dave Thing' - LOL. I like to wait until the storm is over before I start any snow blowing activity. I thinks it way more fun by letting it pile up first! We don't get storms like you did here, over 20" often, but we did get a triple storm that dumped over 2' of snow several years back here in N. Maryland. I was in my Glory!! I took my BX-2200 out and it did fine - had to move a bit slower, but I compared it to hand shoveling in my head. I actually had to make two passes, one with the blower raised and then another with it full down since it was so deep. It took a while, but the BX did the job. Now I've got a new LX-2610 coming, I'll have to learn its capabilities. One thing I noted was when you took full width bites, with the 63" blower moving forward, it did put some strain on the engine. I just wonder if using a 3310, whether it would 'bog' down or be able to move forward at a faster speed.?.? Not that important since we don't get that kind of snow here usually. I forgot to mention my common driveway is 2/3 mile long and drifts a lot in storms. I really enjoyed watching your video and you having some fun!! Thanks Dave!
Hey Dave! Making multiple passes is probably easier on the machine and you get the job done. Prior to my purchase I considered the 3310, my decision was based on attachments. Not one attachment I found wouldn’t work on the 2610 plus it was under the emissions rule. So if I have to slow done just a bit to get the job done I’m okay with that.
@@MtTopLiving This was my exact reasoning for getting the LX-2610. Also, Kubota was continuing to make the 2610, so figured it had to be a popular model. I forgot to add in my previous comment, going a bit slower is just fine since the cab is nice and warm ;-)

I have the same tractor. Sold my L2501. Love the cab and everything about it. I plow the snow here in Michigan since I don’t have a blower and it handles it with ease. I am actually convinced it pulls better up my hills than the L2501 did.
Good to know. I just bought a lx2610 for my small property and plowing snow. But was back and forth on the l2501. I also live in Michigan.
Why did u sell the L2501 and get the other model?
I wanted a factory cab.

I’m sure there is someone out there saying their 2-stage EGO snowblower could do it just as quick. Nice job. 👍
That tractor is capable of some heavy work, and an even bigger snowblower could be fitted to it. Perhaps I would get a plate fastened at an angle on top of the blower, that would help push high snow down into the mouth of the blower, but otherwise the machine has no problems with handling a few feet of snow. I used a walk behind snowblower for my driveway and we had much more snow, almost at hip deep, but I still managed to clean up for myself and our next door neighbour. It just takes more time, and a bit of swearing. lol
Why I like a utility tractor with loader arms, a skid steer plate, and higher volume hydraulics. If it gets deep I can raise and loser the blower to nibble away at deep snow. Still a very good tractor but if the snow is consistently that deep or deeper, I would want a bit more.
No more snow removal vids for me to upload this season and I'm NOT complaining, LOL. Been running Kubota and CaseIH tractors with blowers for over 15 years on 1500 ft. driveway and still have them both. Watched your vid to the end and enjoyed it! Hard to beat the little Botas!🦾

I for one never had any doubts of what that system can do. I have watched many videos of these tractors and blowers in action and they work very well. Waiting until the snow was very deep is not something you would normally do and it was great that you did, because now others will see that this setup is more than capable of clearing snow. Now in saying that, I have driven down my driveway coming home and woke up the next morning to be completely snowed in. The only way through was with the snowblower. Plowing snow has it's advantages and it's disabilities. Plowing is piling....and once the piles harden up, now your in trouble and will run out of room to put snow. With a blower you never have that problem as long as you have 20 feet on either side to throw the snow. Both pieces of equipment have there place in snow removal, and living in the country I will always have a blower. I will have a rear blade for next season to help speed things up, and that will be a game changer for me. on light days I will blade at speed to the center of the road then turn around, turn the blower on and throw that snow 50 feet away. I like your tractor and it fits the job. We have a BX and it fits what we need it for. It is the right size and what we bought it for was right. Room to store a larger tractor was not in the cards since we live in town we shouldn't store it outside. Peace and keep up the good work. BTW I watch GP Outdoors, he has a great channel, FYI

These little tractors are very impressive. I don't think anyone would ever be disappointed in one, blowing snow is heavy work, the only guy I know who had regrets about a tractor this size was a friend who bought a green one and had no end to trouble. What I know about Kubotas, and this seems to be the consensus across the whole spectrum. But if they're cold cold like this, they love their glow plug heating one maybe two cycles and it should pop over. I believe that Mitsubishi tractors are the same way, glow plugs and give it a hit no need for ether sniffs.
Own exactly what you have. In Orchard Park N.Y. November and December snow storms equalled 130". My Kubota cleaned 300' driveway + small parking lot.
Your in Lake effect snow country that’s for sure! I’m east of Albany near Vt border.

I have the LX3310 with a back mount snowblower. I use a blade up front and have an 800 ft driveway. Chains all around. The front of the tractor could use more weight on it when the blade is down, as the front tires struggle to keep the tractor traveling in the intended direction. The snowblower rocks and I haven't found the limits of that piece. I probably will not test with 22" of snow though, as my driveway is steep and has off camber situations. Love the snowblower though and limits how much piling of snow I have to do.
They are great machines regardless of what the preference is for front or rear blower.
Nice job, Dave. These tractors are more then capable for sure. No doubt! We had the same amount of snow here depending where you live in New Hampshire. Some places only saw about 6 inches. Others got 38 inches. Crazy March storm.
Thanks! It was a crazy storm. Elevation seemed to be key for snowfall amounts. I ended up with a total of 30” here.
im very impressed. i live in louisville kentucky, got a Grand L 3560, on the fence about getting some snow moving equipment, looks like a a ton of fun but not sure how much i would use it. we usually get less then 24 inches or so. a big winter mabye 36 inches.
The front mount blowers are pricey, some like the rear mounts. A simple blade would work if you have enough room to push it. Assuming you have a bucket, that’s a good start if you don’t want a one trick pony.

Wow, very nice I have the LX 3310, and can’t decide if I want to spend the extra money and get the LX2980. But seeing your video, the LX 2963 may just be the right size, plus I can save money and possibly spend it on the hydraulic deflector. Great video
If I had known about the hydraulic deflector option I wouldn’t have thought twice about it. Thanks for watching.

Just to let you know, I checked with the Kubota dealer here in Bangor, ME. And for that size blower the cost of the hydraulic deflector is roughly 1200.00.

When I bought my LX3310 I had the dealer price out the two blowers to see the difference in price. The LX2963 can be outfitted with the power chute options but when you do that the price isn’t far off the LX2980 which has all the bells and whistles. It ended up being about $1,000 difference so for me it was a no brainer I went with the 2980. Neither one is “cheap”. Thanks for the video

That's an Impressive amount of snow to get in one shot and the tractor handled it just fine. Looks like you also got your hydraulic line replaced. If you havent already do so, don't forget to check your hydraulic fluid level.

Snowblows. Have there place. I do belive a nice snow bucket would have ben faster with that amount of snow. At least if you did get stuck can push yourself out with bucket on

I have a Kubby 2601 with a front end loader because I don't get the amount of snow you do in Cow Hamsha, but I had no doubt about your LX being able to handle that snow. I grew up just down the road from you in Massachusetts, so I know what you were up against. I think there might be a minor problem with your audio pick up. I have the volume on my computer turned way up, and I had trouble hearing what you were saying.
I have gone through a few microphones. Unfortunately there is no “take two” once you’ve moved the snow.
All you need now is a garage to put your things in.

That looked like some wet heavy snow, not as fun to move.. When its much colder the snow goes through the blower much faster
I had the lx2610... Very capable tractor... If you can deal with the hydrostatic wine 👎 that's why I upgraded to the l3560

Great video. Thank goodness you have that cab! I see you left your LX outside. Does it have the same issue as the BX with the fuel filter along the bottom that can gunk up when it gets cold?
I haven’t had any problems with the fuel filter at all. Right now I do not have an option to put the LX inside a building.
$30k tractor uncovered but the wood is? Add on to wood shed if you have to.

Man I see why most larger blowers get rid of that gearbox that drives the auger through the impeller, the auger pushes the snow in front of it and then the gearbox just acts as a plow😬, looks like a good time other than that! 😁
I’ve found with heavy wet snow the blower box pushes the snow as well not just the auger. Once that pile builds up it’s too late. Kind of wish there was an attachment to prevent the build up of snow and allow it to drop into the augers.
